I know Shocker is like a C-Tier Spidey villain. But how does nobody come to the conclusion that the shock in Shocker is referring to Shockwaves? Good video though.
It may seem that Marvel loves to see Peter struggle. But it all goes track to his power and responsibility speech. He can’t have it all, and he probably never will.
Peter struggling has always been his shtick, since at the time no other superhero had to deal with financial issues, school, and girl troubles. Even the consequences of having a secret identity was highlighted through Spider-Man, even though he wasn’t the first hero to have one. It just made sense at the time to make him struggle and have bad luck because that was that made Spider-Man unique as a Marvel Character. Now that times have changed Writers seem to take that concept and crank it up to 11 unfortunately, ruining it’s original charm and uniqueness.
There are honestly quite a few superhero shows that I would like to see them react to. The 1994 Spider-Man show is a must. I would also like to see them react to X-Men: Evolution, Wolverine and the X-Men, and just about anything from the DCAU.
It still hurts that this show was cancelled. If it was allowed to continue, it would have concluded between 2013 to 2015, as they were planning for 5 seasons and with a couple of movies in between each season (following S2). And they would have done a couple of movies post-S5, where they would have focused on Peter in college. One of my theories in the aftermath of S2 was that Norman Osborne was still alive and would return once his crimes of being the Green Goblin were put onto someone else. I even wondered if Wilson Fisk would make an introduction to become the Kingpin of Crime after Tombstone's defeat.
1:14:52 Venom isn't the symbiote, Venom is Eddie wearing the symbiote, it's a combination of their two personalities. Eddie is angry at Pete, has already been shown to be vindictive enough to go out of his way to hurt Pete, even hurting others in the process (though he admittedly wasn't violent about it before), and is having all his aggression amplified by the symbiote's own anger. The symbiote also pushes people to act impulsively and selfishly because it doesn't really understand human morality.
Curt Connors' lab is the second-worst place to work, followed by Oscorp. Dr. Connors accidentally makes monsters, and Norman deliberately keeps making supervillains.
20:07 um actually it’s shockwaves 🤓 47:47 it’s a belt. Call it what it is. A BELT 53:54 yes, underneath our hair, all of us are bald, *that’s the point of hair*

1:17:33 for anyone who was wondering, it said “you wanted to be a part of me! Well, now I want you to come and get me!” And the other guy said “Noooo! I’m going to pound you so hard for this spider man!” The editor said “Gay?” I agree with the editor
My favorite banter between Spidey and a villain is with Green Goblin GG: You know what they say. If you can’t join ‘em, beat ‘em. Spidey: took the words right out of my mouth. Is that a felony? GG: I sure hope so. This little goblin wouldn’t be caught dead committing a misdemeanor “The Goblin disappears, forever. Leaving a mystery that never gets solved” that was some very unfortunate foreshadowing
Peter's life never getting better is almost integral to the character at this point. The universe goes out of its way to punish him for doing the right thing
You know, as a kid, I always found that I loved Spider-Man but didn't like Peter Parker at all. No matter how many iterations of him I saw, I felt that way but couldn't explain why. But somehow, after watching this and seeing how he is in this show and how it's not that much different from other versions of him, I finally figured it out and it's actually very simple. Peter just kinda fucking sucks as a person despite the beliefs of Uncle Ben that he's supposed to embody and uphold. Like, he does that a fair amount as Spider-Man but he does NOT do it as Peter Parker. No wonder I've been starting to like Miles more lately since I like him in AND out of the suit.
I don't know. I totally agree and get what you're coming with but depending on the iteration Peter is just a flawed person and hes trying to live up to and live by the beliefs of Uncle Ben tahts why its his mantra. "A Good man doesn't need rules" thats why Peter has so many because hes just a guy trying to be better. Your pov is totally valid though. Miles is definitely amazing
I agree with you, but that's why I like this version of Peter. It encapsulates Peter Parker as the self-destructive screw up he's always been especially as a teenager.
It's pretty easy to understand, Peter is a flawed character, while Miles was made flawless( especially in the 2 spiderverse movies),that's the difference between the two characters. If Peter Parker was meant to represent the everyday men's life(good and the bad),Miles was meant to be a self-insert, where you can be a character that can sacrifice billions of people life for your loved ones, and still be seen as a hero and the true spiderman, lol. I can never for the life of me understand the overwhelming towards Miles, but that's just me. Imo, Marvel heroes are supposed to have flaws, yet rise to the heroic occasion despite those flaws. Peter does this,I don't see this in Miles. Hell, the sequel to spiderverse is outright telling us that superhero should have thier cake and eat it.
So I get what you're saying, but I think that's the point? He's a teenager. A super intelligent teenager, but still only 16-years-old. And most people who are that smart at that age also tend to have below average emotional intelligence. And when your average teenager already tends to make their fair share of catastrophic decisions, someone like Peter is going to do even worse when suddenly thrust into these social situations. Especially when so much of his mental bandwidth is being taken up by school work, Spider-Man responsibilities & money troubles. It's not comfortable to watch by any stretch, but realistically, this is how a lot of us learn & grow. Especially people in Peter's position. We fuck up badly, hurt people unwittingly, and eventually, become wiser from the experience. Of course we can see the ideal decisions from the outside, but from Peter's POV, with his background, he's stumbling around blind. Girls never looked at him twice before he got bitten & now they're all practically lining up to date him. That's gonna induce some major analysis paralysis, so it's no wonder he was so conflicted between the good thing he had going with Liz & the relationship he really wanted. And eventually, he did do the right thing by breaking it off, but it took a long time to get there because, again, he was only a nerdy teenager literally a year previous & juggling all this social crap with everything else is still new to him. He's not a bad person, he's just greener than the Goblin's body suit. He's way better at the Spider-Man side because superhero stuff is easy in comparison. Save people, stop the bad guy, don't kill anyone. Sure, it's more dangerous physically & requires so serious problem-solving ability at times, but that's where his raw intelligence comes into play. When the moral choices are generally as simple as they are when crime fighting, it's easy to be responsible while doing it. His duties as Spider-Man have always been a matter of "how" to do the right thing, rather than a question of "what" the right thing is. Navigating social situations, however? Completely reversed. It's hard to figure out the "how" when you're stuck on the "what" -- Trying to figure out right from wrong when the playing field is all various shades of grey. It's a fucking minefield in comparison. And a lot of the time, you only know the wrong decision when you hear that distinctive -click-. Peter only needed to make one mistake to learn the difference between right & wrong with his crimefighting. It's not the simple when you're dealing with the complexities of the interpersonal relationships. That's the stuff that requires letting a great many proverbial burglars get away before you finally figure out right from wrong on an intuitive level. You can't understand people through raw intellect alone. That sort of wisdom only comes with time & often a lot of painful mistakes. Their called social for a reason. And yes, Flash was going to Peter for advice, but as the episode showed, Peter was still completely clueless about what was really going on. Not being able to comprehend that Sha Shan might like Flash for who he is. I think what makes Peter come off especially badly here is that the show was cut off before we could see the full shape of his arc. They left him hanging at one of his lowest points & didn't allow us to see how he'd eventually learn from his mistakes. We never got that satisfying moment where we saw how far he'd come from these early seasons, and were instead left with the mistakes without any of the redemption. The fact that the show punishes Peter for his decisions shows, at least to me, that the intention was to give Peter a long road to recovery. That he needed to truly process the responsibility of being Peter Parker before he could finally earn what he wanted. And I'm betting if the show continued, all the mistakes he made here would have been culminated in a more mature, seasoned Spider-Man. Not perfect, but certain wiser. Only getting Gwen when he had finally learnt his lessons, perhaps contrasting to Harry's eventual downfall. No guarantees there, obviously, but I can see the trajectory of where things were going there.
The fact that this show took one of the most shocking and well known comic reveals of all time, in the Green Goblin's true identity, and actually made it shocking again WITHOUT changing the identity is beyond impressive.

watching this show is like chasing after a rainbow bruh. its so good but so disappointing it didnt get a third season or ending.
Spider-Man actually cracks jokes because of his anxiety even though he has spider sense, he still feels anxiety while in battle so he makes jokes.
Is it canon or headcanon?
@@klamacz47 canon I believe
I did not remember Peter being the biggest asshole in the known universe when I watched this as a kid lmao
I actually wanted Gwen and Peter to be together the whole time, although I kinda wondered why in this video, since Liz is so much better to him
You can tell that the editor really loves Spider-Man, the reference humor is on point. As a person whose favorite hero is Spider-Man or atleast in the top 3 I approve.
As far as YT recommendations go, this by far has to the best one. i remember watching this show when i was young and it was good but rewatching it with you guys reacting to it just made it a lot better tbh. i havent laughed this hard in a minute. i loved the commentary and the chemistry yall have lol. Shoutout to te editor as well😂🥂.
Man, I forgot how good Hammer Head is in this series, Demands respect from every villain he has working under him, even Sandman! And that boy can cause serious damage!
oh God the editor for this is fucking amazing having the first Dante Vergil cutscene after Spidey made the snacks joke was perfection
i like how they went in liking peter and finished the show hating peter

If spectacular spider man came out today, the Hopepunk/Squeecore crowd would loose their minds. The amount of innuendos and romance drama would break so many chronic twitter brains.
I know Shocker is like a C-Tier Spidey villain. But how does nobody come to the conclusion that the shock in Shocker is referring to Shockwaves?
Good video though.
Gwen just got disrespected this entire show💀

I need to see these guys going feral over Wasp in Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

There are honestly quite a few superhero shows that I would like to see them react to. The 1994 Spider-Man show is a must. I would also like to see them react to X-Men: Evolution, Wolverine and the X-Men, and just about anything from the DCAU.
Alright, now that they have watched all of Peak Spectacular Spider-Man lets now have them go through some of Ultimate Spider-Man 🗿
*stupid monkey noise* “we wouldn’t survive that.”
*Angel and demon Spideys appear* “no we wouldn’t!”
I didn't think Ultimate was really that bad. Just a little more childish.
Whoever the editor is, he's doing a banger job.
42:12 Editor, Raimi MJ called Tobey Maguire "tiger" at the end of Spider-Man 2 (2004), as well as multiple times in the first movie

My favorite banter between Spidey and a villain is with Green Goblin
GG: You know what they say. If you can’t join ‘em, beat ‘em.
Spidey: took the words right out of my mouth. Is that a felony?
GG: I sure hope so. This little goblin wouldn’t be caught dead committing a misdemeanor
“The Goblin disappears, forever. Leaving a mystery that never gets solved” that was some very unfortunate foreshadowing
this trio is so goddamn funny I litteraly almost passed out from lack of oxygen

He seems like a jerk because of their framing. He tries his best. Except when Dan Slott is writing.
In 6:28 it sounds like the laugh from the chesse guy Bobby from the goofy movie
