    You know a hair transplant surgeon is ethical when he tells you NOT to get a hairtransplant 😅

    I'd love to be a fly on the wall at the Hattingen hair clinic when Dr Muresanu is having a tense discussion with May

    Its so refreshing to hear an ethical doctor say this...that one should wait until the entire frontal third and perhaps mid scalp can be tackled in one go. I hate these 'frontal band' transplants in front of a receeding frontal third; it's guaranteeing a need for future HT and/or setting you up for an unnatrual hair loss pattern.

    Always loving your videos Joe! What I truly wish I had known before my 1st FUT surgery eight years ago, is the fact that patients in their late 20s with an advanced degree of hair loss like a complete NW6, are still at risk of finding themselves with a miniaturised donor in their 40s or 50s. Not that the donor disappears completely, but it miniaturises enough to leave the patient with poor aesthetic results if he was to get another HT. Finasteride can surely help, but depends on how aggressive DHT is on the donor. I'm 36 now and will probably fix what's fixable with FUE by thinning out the donor heavily even if I were to look like I had DUPA.

    Great video Joe. Looking back listening to Dr Muresanu’s sage advice reminds me of all the mistakes I made. And he is 100% correct on every point he makes. Surgery is not the answer because the answer becomes worse than the problem to begin with. Looking forward to the next video and thanks for sharing. 🙏

    I agree Joe! That was a fantastic video.
    Research, plan, try different hair cuts, try medication, accept the future will most likely hold more hair loss. There is nothing wrong with waiting. The more research done, the better the chances it will be done right the first time. Or better yet, you embrace your look, and do nothing.

    Kudos to the doc for being honest. Not selling blind head in the clouds pipe dream only to emerge like a klingon with faux temple points and shiny everywhere else

      Yep I think a lot of these folk getting aggressive temporal reconstructions are going to regret it big time in the future.

    If we are on fin/dut we still have a strong frontal tuft but heavily recessed sides and no progression of loss since starting meds, At what point can we say stablized enough to have HT? I am 30 and have been in this situation for the last 6 years and want a HT but trying to be patient and wise.

      If it hasn't changed, you're probably good to go, but if you've been able to wait six years, maybe continue to wait:)

    @TheHairTransplantChannel What does it mean in terms of age "The longer You CAN WAIT" for getting the ht?

    • @hairtransplantchannel
      @hairtransplantchannel  4 месяца назад +2

      Age is irrelevant as different people have varying degrees of loss at different ages. The idea behind this statement is that one shouldn't automatically default to having surgery once they realize they're losing their hair. This is something that happens more and more often today as Tiktokers and social media influencers tell people it's so easy to "fix" their hair.

      @@hairtransplantchannel Thank You, I got it. So do You believe the proper path is when Your hairline and midscalp are very poor as mentioned Dr Muresanu in the clip?

    • @hairtransplantchannel
      @hairtransplantchannel  4 месяца назад

      @@andreatonti1487 Overall, it is difficult to make a blanket statement like that, but in general; yes. In many cases it still makes sense if one's loss has appeared to have stabilized on medication or they do not have an obvious genetic propensity for aggressive loss beyond a NW3 or so, as evidenced by family history.

    Most people only have 6000 viable grafts in their donor region... one must utilize those grafts carefully, strategically, and most importantly, one must understand when the time is right to use them relative to one's hairloss progression.
    It's great advice, but it's not what these young guys want to hear... unfortunately...
