this whole episode was just dejavu - i literally was just having a conversation with someone a few days ago about how i admire the relationship my parents have although they aren’t together. they are legit ✨friends✨ and coparent so well which is super important when it comes down to raising children. my mom has never put my father on child support, never kept us sway from him, and attends the family functions even though he remarried. even with their kids being adult af now, they both can still pickup the phone and call one another, whether it be pertaining to my brother and i or not and for that, i am infinitely indebted and grateful ☯️
Me and my mom are at the stage of our lives where it’s time for her to learn a different way of mothering. She’s from a Spanish country and her whole life was made up of sacrifices that she had to make in order for others to be happy and that has given her a complex that the people she has done things for owe her something. I sympathize with a lot of her plight but we struggle with her accepting that sometimes you have to learn how to heal without getting the apologies and reconciliations that she still may deserve
I am a Latina who grew up the same way and became the same till my kids started growing up and really reniged on me about a lot and I had to learn to correct myself. Not everything they taught is meant to be kept the foundation maybe good but times have changed for real change on your own or you gonna be changed by force
Mona please make sure the surgeon is board certified! And read reviews that are not on the company website! Consider how long they have been a doctor, consider what kind of doctor they are. Don't believe them when they promise aftercare hire your own team for aftercare. Tour the facility 1st and don't go with a place just because they offer a discount! And please don't ignore any gut feelings.....

Sucks Father’s Day is this Sunday but facts , my mama let me find out and it sucks cause I wish she would have just told me , I would have avoided certain mistakes off the strength of being aware , I grew up oblivious af and still recovering from just finding out
