Looks like there's pontential to be a good game 👍 Though I'd change burst filling mechanic from on kill to on hit or both with more energy gained on kill. Like how it is - it's single burst per boss, kinda and discouraging to use it on regular enemies as you won't be able to fill the bar during boss fight. Also, hopefully, soon you'll replace placeholder graphics with own, seeing portraits from Macross is very strange 😅 Good luck, fare well 👍
Having a mix of Axleay mixed with Elemental master, Gley Lancer, Thunder Force, Gaiaries, and some shooters from the x 68000. The only difference is the character select, some music, and voice over.
From what I understand, it's more of a proof of concept thing by the dev than a proper game. That's why it borrows that many assets from other shmups. And apparently there won't be a final version of it, the purpose was just finishing the POC, really.

Its nice that Miriya, Max Sterling, and Rick Hunter are still getting jobs as characters in shmups, all these decades later.
Using too many assets from other games, including all of the music, some background elements, the boss etc. It has great potential though.

Either POC or just a work for programming class, can't remember exactly.

Nope, is a Sol Deace hack, from Wolf Team/Telenet. If you know the game, you recognize a lot of things right away.
