Just beat this game twice, honestly, Sludge Barge, Railhand (or whatever you want to call him), Aurora Borealis, Rock n Roller, Spider Bomber,Acrobat, Stayin’ Alive were quite easy, WarHead was kinda challenging but also kinda easy for a final boss, and Clockwork and Monkey are probably the hardest. ). Actually, almost all the bosses aren’t really hard, except for those two (WarHead doesn’t count since he’s the final boss, you’d expect him to be challenging)
Vectorman (Genesis) All Bosses Boss 1 Sludge Barge Boss 2 Railhead Boss 3 Aurora Borealius Boss 4 Aero Boss 5 Clockwerk & Swat Kats Boss 6 Mokey Final Boss - Warhead + Ending & Credits
@bat shit I didn't know that! But my father might still have my Sega and my Sega games from when I was a kid. Of course I was a kid when I beat it so I didn't know but I do remember there being a number at the end of the credits to call. That was my favorite game and I still remember every secret of the game and the last level itself.
I beat this game as a kid, to the point of doing near flawless runs; the second game though; albeit easier imo scared me too much to play it as much as I did the first; because of that freaking Shadow Nose boss.
Yeah me too, it's crazy to think now I used to come home from preschool and beat Vectorman in a sitting like it was nothing. Invited my preschool teacher over to watch me play Sonic CD when I first got it too. Funny how these memories have stuck, so many other things happened that I have no memory of. Kids have the luxury of total immersion when it comes to a video game. Went back and beat Vectorman again 6-7 years ago at a college party and it was not an easy game. This video makes it look very easy!
Remember the better I got at playing this the more I just roasted the enemies in his double jump boosters. Did solid damage and I needed to give myself some space to shoot anyway. Solid game design if you think about it. Always thought he'd be a natural fit for Smash between the morphs and existing double jump mechanics. Hasn't stayed as relevant, sadly, but maybe someday, if Sega dusts it off first.
This was my 3D virtual reality thing back in the day. My PlayStation before my PlayStation. It’s bollocks I couldn’t finish the last stage, which I didn’t know was the last stage until I saw that Warhead nonce spinning over the clouds! He was a bastard to defeat!
I remember when I finally beat this for the first time... such a hard, but fun and rewarding game. I was ecstatic... then I had to go to bed cause I had school in the am.
Sega’s answer to Donkey Kong Country. I remember renting this back in the day. It’s a very good game in its own right, but as an answer to DKC it fell short. That said, I wish Sega had continued to focus on Genesis software like this rather than wasting resources on the 32X. Genesis was massively popular and Sega squandered their goodwill.
Back then in 1995 there was the play to win $25,000 grand prize thing on the TV commercial. Many people were wondering who won the $25,000 bonus back then?
Very good animation! Wish there was a way to utilize this technology in a more realistic way, as animating non-abstract objects with such a high frame count is very time consuming! Very smooth and simple, I love it! Reminds me of Comic Party Wars: Endless Waltz, which has some of the best animation I've ever seen in my life. Not by far, but better than AOF3, Street Fighter 3 Second Impact, and many other 2D games from my perspective. However, this game has much more content(visually) that is far more visually distinct, which is what I love about how the tech was used. Great playthrough! Hopefully people keep showing VectorMan love, like how those Brawl modders added him to Smash bros.
I gotta know something man. How do people do these no damage runs? There has to be a process. I've always wanted to do one of these "beat every boss while not getting hit once" runs but I can never seem to get it down. Just how do these people get so good?
If I had to guess, it all comes down to 2 things primarily: 1) You need to be able to recognize patterns and the like. Oftentimes there are ways you can avoid certain attacks with trial and error if you can figure out what to look for 2) You need to be patient when playing the game and take time to practice; this comes back to my first point about patterns. As long as you're willing to take the time to learn them, you can get better at avoiding damage. Basically, don't play too recklessly and let yourself take damage too often will help a lot in at the very least lessening the damage you take
*Blue Sky Software, and not really. Firstly, Blue Sky Software & SEGA’s partnership ended a few years after Vectorman 1 & 2 were released. And secondly, Blue Sky Studios in general closed its doors & shut down back in April 2021.
It cannot. No matter how hard you try. Unless you were speedrunning the game, that boss is HELL to fight! I had to reload my save state *30 FUCKING TIMES* until I got this boss dead. It’s an example of incredibly poor design.
I love how vectorman isn't even serious when killing a boss he's just like: YOOO I DID IT!!
Vectorman, one of my all-time favorite Sega Genesis games.

Aurora Borealis? In this type of game, at this generation of consoles, on the sega genesis, localized entirely within the ice area?
railhand was metalhead
How does he avoid damage for these bosses?
I love how smooth the animations are for its time!

holy mother of nostalgia. time to dig out my genesis.
It was a miracle if I could get this thing to start up and run for 30 minutes back in the 90s.
Would love to see a new VectorMan game! One of my favorite two games of all time!! 🎮👍

(I played that game a long time ago, very challenging.)
I've only managed to get through the first boss of this game. This game was pretty tough!
i know i tried for years but beat only 3 bosses
What difficulty where you on
@@noaht2005 I think I was on easy, but I still had problems since I didn't understand the gameplay at the time.

@@animefan25 yeah.
One of the Genesis games I could routinely beat

My childhood...
Extremely fun unrated not well unknown game after its time.
I beat this when i was a kid. Didn't have a pen and paper to write down the phone number to call at the end of the credits. This was my favorite game

@bat really? No one has made a video about it? Vector man was the shit back in the day. So was the music too. I'll have to go get it from him then.
@bat unfortunately no. My mother got rid of it when I was younger. Sorry about that.
God, warhead is hell on Hardcore mode. I remember flipping off the sceen and yelling when I beat him on my last life. Nice job.
I defeated warhead without taking any damage I didn't hesitate for a while
Sega's answer to Super Nintendo's Donkey Kong Country.
The final boss dies in like 2 hits with the boost blast jets from Vectorman’s feet
Yeah. I played in the hardest difficulty and Warhead dies after 5 blast jump on his head.
I beat this game as a kid, to the point of doing near flawless runs; the second game though; albeit easier imo scared me too much to play it as much as I did the first; because of that freaking Shadow Nose boss.
LOL. Yeh, Vectorman 2 is awesome. Best graphics i've seen on the Genesis.
There's not a better looking SNES game either.

This , alternate beast , and a vague memory of some black n white comic book game lol. True 90s kids
Anyone else here old enough to remember when this game looked "next gen" ?...

I could never beat that damn Clockwork boss as a kid. Looking at it now, it looks stupidly easy and all I had to do was keep distance from him.

How did you take no damage can you teach me that
The only time Japan got to play this was to purchase it on the now defunct Wii Shop Channel or play it on the Sonic Gems Collection.
