What a great shooter, probably one of my favorites. Awesome music, satisfying explosions and other SE, interesting variety of enemies. Plus there were no power-ups to worry about. You actually had to choose your loadout wisely and use what few weapons you had effectively.

It's funny how there was a Castlevaniesque NES game by the same title XD Also, as far as scrolling shooters go, you ever planning on playing Summer Carnival '92: Recca? Don't let the name fool you, it's a really awesome and fast shooter for the NES, just have a look and you'll see.
+MidBoss666 I will answer as well... Recca is a good game. One of the best shooters of all time. But I am not crazy enough yet to actually try doing challenge videos of it. Be it 1LC or boss rush (using no bombs unless it is impossible to dodge) - both are a little too much for me right now. I don't even know if I am able to simply complete the game now: I did it once but it was quite long ago.
Axelay was the best Space Shoot Em Up games made for the Super NES, way better than Gradius or Salamander. Too bad Konami never made a sequel to Axelay.
They planned to but it was very cancelled quickly was the game wasn't much of a success, you can however play the pilotable ship from Axelay in one of Konami's PS2 titles
This game is a clear 9 out of 10 For me only one thing is Missing ..a few more levels ...other than that one of the best soundtrack in a game , and the gameplay is awesome
hell no. it's abtou 35 minutes long and that's the perfect length for these games. the ones that are an hour long always drag by around level 5 (Compile shooters).
Alright, how the actual FUCK did you possibly manage to avoid all those bullet sprays in the final boss's last incantation!? I swear it looked like you'd been hit several times in this video. I've just started playing this game again for the first time in about twenty-six years, and although I managed level 1 and Arachnatron pretty easily, I've made a pig's ear of level 2 thus far. I can't imagine I'll ever have the patience to get as good as this. I only managed to get to Level 4 and Aquadon when I played it back in the day.
Hmm...one Question, if you had no Damage, why are your secoundary and third weapon damaged and out of Order at the Roboter Boss Battle? :P Thats Damage you took xP Also you lost some lifes during the Game, I see it on teh upper left at the Fnal Boss xP

The ship itself didn’t take damage, but all the maneuvers jostled the pilot around enough to crack the helmet

Aquadon (Boss 4) by far has the best theme song in the game hands down. I don't care about any other boss theme
