I agree. I did play this game, but only the demo version of it. The game was kinda fun to play. If Squareenix ever plans for a Remastered of it, I think they'll add some things, that will make it easy for new players, and players, who would want to play this game, but are a bit rusty.
Interactive CD Sampler Disc Volume 7 The good old days. So nostalgic playing these demos again. Too bad they don’t really do stuff like this anymore. This one disc kept me having fun for a very long time.
Schwarzgeist in KH3, Einhander & Astrea appearing as Mirage enemies in World of Final Fantasy, Einhander appearing as a boss in the Keeper of the Lake dungeon in FFXIV...It's like...SquareEnix will do anything with this game EXCEPT give us a rerelease/remake/remaster.
This game is major nostalgia for me. I had a demo disc with stage one on it years ago and sat on said disc one day and broke it. Never could recall the name of this game and finally found it. Will be sure to get my hands on a copy of it somehow
My childhood was the same. I played this demo disc so so much. Hours and hours of fun with games like Gex and Tomba, etc. Too bad they don’t really do stuff like this anymore. But I was also curious to try and play this game again. If you download a PS1 Emulator on your computer you can find the game to play. Plug in a controller and your back feeling nostalgic. Hope this helps you Dan man. Cheers
HOLY SHIT!!! I found it! I've been looking for this game for like 5 years. I was 3 or 4 when I first played this game. I never finished it because I was too young to progress passed that big red bastard. When my family moved for the first time in my earliest memories, I never saw it again. I've had flashes of this game being part of my infancy through my life; now I can finally see how it ends and gain some damn closure.
I never understood why Selene betrayed the Einhander pilot... They betrayed their best pilot, what did they expect? he'll just take it? thanks man, you filled up my nostalgia meter today :)
Because Selene and the moon forces are actually the bad guys and so are you. Their economy and industry runs off the never ending war against the evil earth forces. Keep population in check with enemies to hate. Einhanders are suppose to be suicide pilots and you surviving and bringing back word that earth can barely fight back isn't in their plans so you gotta die.
I hope Square Enix sees the revival and positive reception of the recent R-Type Final 2 and finally decides to do something new with Einhänder. Ironically, it's probably far more likely than the chances of Konami doing the same and giving us a Gradius VI.
@@jasoncrandall5320 Perhaps this is their chance to remaster this. Square Enix mainly focuses on RPG's especially the Final Fantasy series (most notably 7 through 10). But the company they bought (Taito) made awesome SHMUP's like RayStorm, RayForce, and RayCrisis.
There should be a collaboration with Taito when making this. Besides, they bought Taito in 2005 and became a whole subsidiary in 2006. Taito is known for making epic classic shooter games.
SKP-04 Gamele ? I guess that's its name? The intro for this boss when I was younger, was so extreme, it came out of nowhere and the slam when he hit the ground isn't portrayed as loud and as serious as when I was a kid. That boss I remember the most.
Here’s the deal people if we want a einhander sequel the original composer must do the soundtrack no ifs or buts. Of course I read that even though he’s “technically” retired he would come back for a sequel if asked. Hell I would be happy with a hd remake.
EInhander was one of my favorite shumps, and I never finished. I don't think I ever got past Gustav. Why isn't this game re-released? It seems like it would be a very easy port to modern consoles.
These mechanical abominations are both menacing and awesome at the same time. I can't help but be impressed by the kinds of crazy killing machines that the player fights against in this game. For example, the entrance of the 2nd stage boss (PGZ) in that dark cave is actually kinda scary, especially when its alarms go off, its robotic voice announces its presence, and then finally its headlights turn on and reveal its humongous size and grotesque appearance. Really terrifying surprise there. That thing had to be a good 800 feet tall or something. Every time I imagine how good an Einhander remaster (or sequel) would look on a modern-day console like the PS5 or 6, I get excited, but then I also get kinda disappointed. It'd amazing if it did happen by some remote chance, though.
Fantastic game, and a most superior score. I listen to this music to this day. Game deserves a sequel. I'd say that the plot should involve the pilot finding the weapons manufacturers who seem to supplying both sides of this conflict & ending their occult reign. They would be well defended, by devices & bosses never sold to either the Moon or to the Earth so as to protect themselves. Fighting distributors to being with. Moving on to the mining facilties. Then find those pesky factories. Eventually combating the combined forces from both the Moon & the Earth. Before moving on to the final bigbad - a factory that spews Bosses, before the Final Boss. I imagine some kind of sleek, black bot inside a giant suit of spaceship you can't see 'til the outer shell is dismantled oh-so-slowly. Add in specific types of armor vulnerabilities requiring certain weapons, old, new, in order to defeat them. Man I could go on... I would definitely buy it even if it didn't look like my little version of the story. Oh & bringing back the team who made this would almost be mandatory - Especially the composer(s)! Good gawd the job on this....outstanding. :)
I loved this game. It was the only shooter I ever beat. The Hyperion battle was so damn disorienting, it was only through sheer determination and dumb luck that I managed to defeat it.
Square Enix (Einhander), Taito (RayStorm, RayForce, RayCrisis, DariusBurst SP), Konami (Gradius), Namco (Galaga, Galaxian, Xevious, Starblade) best makers of shoot em up games
Imagine if Einhander is part of the FF7 universe. This will be another spin-off only mainly focusing on Cid. Cloud has the main game story even Crisis Core. Vincent has Dirge of Cerberus.
In Stage 5 (Airport), in the first half of the stage there will be a moving truck in the background near the end of the section (before the crane arms part before the miniboss), destroy it with the Wasp weapon (since its in the background you'll need the homing missiles to hit it), and the Python will come out of it.
The fighter the player is using is the one obtainable once you beat it in Hard Mode without dying, I believe. It's called Red Selene or "Red Cresent/Moon".
Schwarzgeists entrance is one of the most rad supervillain entrances i've ever seen. Still love it today
That beat drop as it flies overhead *chef's kiss*, absolutely perfect!
Don't forget Mini boss Gardenlle and Main Spinne after einhander enters the cave!!
Einhander deserves to have a remastered.
Yes, indeed
Agreed
I'd settle for a digital download on the PSN.

Absolutely!! and We want the Zweihander too!
It's impressive that a company that only ever made one shoot-em-up, made one of the best ones ever made.
Definitely a Masterpiece in its own class.
This game needs a comeback and a sequel
The game returned in kingdom hearts 3

@Fk Yu That’s lucky man. This demo was on PS1. I didn’t high speed internet till I got a PS4 lol
The voices on their entrances are epic.
The boss music in this game fucking slaps! Love this game so much. Brings me aaallll the way back!

I'm pretty sure this game is the reason I like EDM lol
I've been trying to recall the name of this game for over 2 decades!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR UPLOADING!!! This game is major nostalgia!
Holy crap.....I remember playing THIS nostalgia game many years ago on the Demo Disk! Such memories. :)
I still can't believe that Square Enix added Schwarzgeist as a KH3 Gummi Ship mission.

getting a ps2 just to play this masterpiece
Just months after Final Fantasy 7 was released, this hidden gem from Square Enix came out
It's Square Soft. Put that dirty Enix from Square Soft pure work on PS 1
"Badlands" that plays right when you fight Garnele, goes HARD af.

Yeah hopefully Einhander reaches the same level as Darius, Galaga, and the Ray series.
