    If you take the gnostic interpretation, why not take up also the fable of Lilith?
    But that is even more glory and understanding to the fulfillment of Jesus Christ because we see that God consisted by Abraham’s father as well, but showed himself his friend with Abraham by giving him his name El Shaddai (the Lord Almighty) and to His chosen in scripture. (the matriarch and patriarch)
    You're exploring the connections between Gnosticism, Lilith, and biblical narratives.
    _Gnostic Interpretation_
    Gnosticism emphasizes spiritual knowledge (gnosis) and often explores mystical connections between biblical figures and events.
    _Lilith in Biblical Context_
    1. Adam's first wife, created equal to him (Genesis 1:27).
    2. Refusing to submit to Adam, leading to her expulsion from Eden.
    3. Becoming a demonic entity, seeking revenge against Adam and Eve.
    _Abraham's Encounter with El Shaddai_
    Genesis 17:1-8 (TS2009) describes God revealing Himself as El Shaddai (The Almighty) to Abraham, promising:
    1. A covenant.
    2. A name change (Abram to Abraham).
    3. Multiplication of descendants.
    _Connections and Insights_
    Exploring Lilith and Abraham's narratives together offers intriguing perspectives:
    1. Dualism: Lilith represents the opposing force to God's plan, while Abraham embodies faith and obedience.
    2. Redemption: Jesus Christ's mission can be seen as redeeming the fallen creation, including Lilith's legacy.
    3. Divine Sovereignty: El Shaddai's revelation to Abraham underscores God's power and authority.
    _Relevant Scriptures_
    - Isaiah 34:14 (TS2009): "And the wild beasts of the islands shall cry in their desolate houses, and the jackals in their pleasant palaces. And the time for them is near to come, and their day shall not be prolonged."
    - Genesis 1:27 (TS2009): "And Elohim created the man in His image, in the image of Elohim He created him, male and female He created them."
    - Genesis 17:1-8 (TS2009): "And when Aḇram was ninety-nine years old, Yahweh appeared to Aḇram and said to him, 'I am El Shaddai, walk before Me and be perfect.'"
    _Gnostic Texts_
    - The Zohar (Kabbalistic text)
    - The Apocalypse of Adam (Gnostic text)
    - The Book of Jasher (ancient Jewish text)

    I pray that Dr. Peterson takes Proverbs 3:5-6 to heart and learns to let go of his analysis of the text and lets the Holy Spirit teach him. He seems to approach God's word as a Bible scholar rather than as a believer. The Word has so much more depth than psycho-analysis of the stories.

Dr. Peterson has said that he's a believer and it's not my place to say that it's not true. I just almost always find myself let down when he ventures into discussions about the Bible. Dr. Peterson is an incredible person who I really admire. He really seems to have a heart to help people and has done just that...beyond what most of us have. It just saddens me that in matters of faith, which are of the highest importance, he seems to be unable to escape the role of psychologist and let God do the teaching.

      The way I interpret it is humans before they ate from the fruit of knowledge of good and evil were basically like dumb and naive children, walking around naked in a nice garden all day, probably did nothing but eat, lie around, play with animals, sleep with each other etc., so a happy and sinless but also meaningless existence. In my opinion it was a good thing to eat the fruit (assuming all of this really happened but even if we're just talking about the philosophical implications of the story) to gain knowledge of good and evil, even if that means we all have the potential to be evil in us, this also means we have the potential to resist evil and do good and that's what makes good people so special, not just that they're good because they have no alternative like before they ate the fruit and are just by default good, but because we know we all have the potential for evil in us but some are strong enough to resist and that they decide to be good instead.
      Also we have to wonder, if god created everything including the garden of eden, why did he put that tree there? Why even create a tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the first place, if no one is allowed to eat from it? He says he didn't want us to eat from it but that doesn't explain why he would even be willing to risk that it might happen by creating that tree and putting it in the middle of the garden, with easily reachable fruit (he at least could've put the tree on a high mountain to make it more difficult) for us to take.
      But to answer your questions, yes Eve would've died eventually but since god probably would've kicked her out immediately I don't think they would've had children, so she most likely would've died alone somewhere while god makes Adam a new wife.

    • @johnsmithers8913
      @johnsmithers8913 3 дня назад +1

      I'm guessing Adam and Eve were supposed to eat the apple. Think about it, God places the tree smack dab in the centre of the Garden, he also allows the Serpent into the Garden.
      It seems that God wanted us to eat the Apple. It's analogous to a parent who wants children to grow up to be strong competent adults like themselves. That has to be done by allowing them out into the hard world. We have seen the consequences when children have been sheltered their entire lives and it's not pretty.
      We are not pets to God, but Children made in his own image. This inevitably means we had to obtain the knowledge of Good and Evil.

    • @zayinseven7923
      @zayinseven7923 3 дня назад +1

      @@lp4514 What the tree of knowledge of good & evil symbolizes is God's singular right & authority to decide what is good and evil and not mankind of even angels. Its the realm that as the Creator no one is allowed to trespass or else death & chaos will follow. Because we didn't create ourselves our Designer by default KNOWS (the knowledge) what will work for us and what won't. Once we decide to reach out and grab the position of God by deciding what is good & bad for us we automatically lose. The world that exist today in its chaos madness & ununifiedness is a reflection of us deciding what is good and what is evil. This is why no such peace has existed on this planet since that day. No such lasting peace at the very least. The design cannot change what it was designed for. The creation cannot change what it was created for. The corruption is immediate at that point. This is why only God is allowed to eat from that tree. It is God's tree. This is symbolism of course again. The ability to reach out and decide for yourself what is good & what is evil is within every human's reach. This is why the physical placement of the tree doesn't matter. It couldn't be placed "out of reach" because of Freewill.

    • @lp4514
      @lp4514 3 дня назад +1

      @@zayinseven7923 It depends on your interpretation of "knowledge of good and evil". The way you described it, that we since then were able to "decide" what's good and evil for us ourselves is one way it could be meant. I interpret it more as "knowing/understanding" what things are objectively good and evil. For example before they ate from the tree it says "Adam and his wife were both naked and they felt no shame", then they eat from it and it says they "realized" they were naked and then were ashamed (so it's not like it they "decided" on their own that being naked is bad now, it implies more that being naked was always objectively bad, for an intelligent being at least, but they were not aware that they are naked before because they were too simple minded and eating from the tree gave them the intelligence to see that they're naked and to realize that that's a bad thing).
      This gets further confirmed later when they hide from god, he asks why, Adam says because they are naked and god doesn't say "why are you ashamed about being naked?", he says "who told you that you are naked?". So it seems even god doesn't question/deny that being ashamed about being naked is wrong/bad, he was just surprised that they suddenly were also aware that it's wrong and now just wants to know how they realized that.
      So my interpretation what exactly eating from the tree did is it basically made us more intelligent and more conscious and able to tell the difference between what good and what evil is. Before that we were simple minded like animals or children, because animals also are not ashamed of being naked and animals don't understand the concept of right and wrong, that's why even when an animal hurts someone we don't say it committed a sin, because we agree that the animal is not conscious of his actions and doesn't understand what's right or wrong, it just does things. So humans before that in eden were more like sheep or cows, they just ate, slept and played, the thought of doing "good" or "bad" things didn't even cross their mind since they didn't have a understanding of good and evil yet.
      But now once they were able to understand which actions are good and evil and they, with that knowledge, still willingly decided to do the evil thing it was a sin, also apparently with that increased intelligence it was also possible now to get temped by evil to commit sin in a way it wasn't before. So to summarize, eating from the tree made us aware of the concept of good and evil, therefore conscious of our actions and more intelligent, which means we can willfully decide to do bad but also willfully decide to do good things and aren't just simply minded sheep walking around in eden anymore. Which for the most part is a good thing in my opinion.

      Pagans have always exploited the moral righteousness of Christians. It's been happening since the early days of Christianity.
      Roman authorities took advantage of Christians' refusal to fight back and their commitment to peace.
      From the martyrdom of figures like Polycarp in the 2nd century to the persecution of Christian communities across the Roman Empire, pagans used Christian moral principles (e.g nonviolence and forgiveness) as a way to suppress them without fear of retaliation.
      This has been a recurring theme throughout history as Christians are targeted for living by their convictions.

    As always I have a flood of thoughts. First of all, the title of Jamie’s book makes me smile. It is in reference to the “wise thrush” in Robert Browning’s poem “Home Thoughts From Abroad:” “Lest you think he never can recapture that first, fine, careless rapture!”
    And then with regard to the death of God, I do think we moderns don’t realize the extent to which the Great War broke humanity, as a whole. It was the first mechanized war. Through my study of some of the literature of the time period… and I’m not an expert but I studied with professors who were… I saw the societal and spiritual breakdown of our collective psyche, and I don’t think humanity has ever really recovered. Thus, “the death of God” because it seemed there was no sense to be made of such mass catastrophe.
    And then when I think of Zarathustra lamenting the death of God, his entire monologue a shriek of centuries of anguish, I think of the two on the road to Emmaus, who were weeping and lamenting the death of God, but God was walking right beside them in the person of Our Lord. And I think that the same applies today. God walks with us even when our eyes are holden and we do not know.
    I was reading Robert Frost’s autumnal poem “In Hardwood Groves” to my kids, and I was struck by the thought that the rhythms and patterns of nature are a way to understand the cycles of human history. And so “the death of God” could be the death of the leaves that “must go down past things coming up”. And that is the only way for Resurrection and a new season to come. “However it is in some other world, I know it is this way in ours.”
    With Ruth Anne’s love

    - Matthew 27:11-14 (TS2009): "And Yahushua stood before the governor, and the governor asked Him, saying, 'Are You the King of the Yehuḏim?' Yahushua said to him, 'You say it.' And while He was being accused by the chief priests and elders, He answered nothing."
    *Jesus' Kingdom*
    - John 18:36 (TS2009): "Yahushua answered, 'My reign is not of this world. If My reign were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Yehuḏim. But now My reign is not from here.'"
    - Luke 17:20-21 (TS2009): "And being asked by the Pharisees when the reign of Elohim would come, He answered them and said, 'The reign of Elohim does not come with observation, nor shall they say, "Look here!" or "Look there!" for look, the reign of Elohim is in your midst.'"
    *Author and Finisher of Faith*
    - Hebrews 12:2 (TS2009): "Looking to Yahushua, the Author and Finisher of faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the stake, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of Elohim."
    *Warnings against Seducing Fables and Endless Genealogies*
    - 1 Timothy 1:3-4 (TS2009): "As I urged you when I was going to Macedonia, remain in Ephesos, that you charge some that they teach no other doctrine, nor give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which cause disputes rather than the stewardship of Elohim which is in faith."
    - 1 Timothy 4:7 (TS2009): "But reject profane and old-wives’ fables, and exercise yourself toward Elohimliness."
    - Titus 3:9 (TS2009): "But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and strife, and disputes about the Torah, for they are unprofitable and useless."
    - John 1:14 (TS2009): "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only brought-forth from the Father, full of favour and truth."
    - Colossians 1:15-20 (TS2009): "Who is the image of the invisible Elohim, the first-born of all creation. Because in Him were created all that are in the heavens and that are on earth, visible and invisible."
    - Revelation 3:14 (TS2009): "And to the messenger of the assembly in Laodikia write, 'These words says the Amĕn, the Trustworthy and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of Elohim.'"

      @lp4514 3 дня назад

      It has also proven that some of the earliest myths were copied/reused from other cultures and that the version of the bible isn't the original. Take the Noah story, we can more or less directly trace it's origin to a much older Sumerian/Babylonian flood myth that is exactly the same story except that it's about multiple gods. And we didn't find any evidence so far that early Hebrews had their own flood myth, the first texts that mention Noah were written after their time in the babylonian exile. So no Hebrew flood myth, then Hebrews spend time in Babylon where people tell them the babylonian flood myth, suddenly afterwards Hebrews have their own flood myth that's almost identical to the babylonian flood myth, which can't be a coincidence.
      (And I know the books of Moses claim to be older but biblical scholars assume they actually weren't written by Moses and were also all created by different authors in and after the babylonian exile, since we so far don't have any prove at all that Moses even existed or that the Exodus happened the way the bible describes it)
      So just because some of the people and places of the later biblical stories were proven to be true doesn't mean the rest is true too and unfortunately we have to be skeptical of everything until we find certain evidence.

    Putting juvenile rats together to play a game and using the outcomes to extrapolate human behavior is pushing it a bit.
    The academic discussion on a normal outcome doesn't address the complexity of the human experience in that we as humans operate in a very very complex society. There are families with their own subculture that are inherently sociopathic, almost bred for it, that reinforce the need to seek out conflict where dominance is the best outcome.
    Never discount the over weighted impact sociopaths have within our population. They may be somewhat of an outlier but they certainly take advantage of the academic normal behavior and lead the average person to question their actions.

Without the real wisdom of God, even the wisest man’s earthly understanding of the Bible is still trash. Just look at the Pharisees, they thought they knew, but they had no idea what they were reading. Take me at my word, I am taught through the Spirit, just like Jesus prophesied would happen. Paul said how is someone to know the mind of someone else unless their spirit enters them. That’s me, I had that experience, God is with me.

      Or for example how ritual practices of satanism is seemly becoming pseudo normality's through society, which is scary. Because humans that believe in religion, will see that as the act of the devil and if no one is stopping the glaring destructive behavior. Then there is something really going wrong.

    • @lp4514
      @lp4514 3 дня назад

      According to the bible adultery or divorce is just as bad, so should we also condemn every single person that divorced their partner (which is probably almost half of all marriages)? And do you want to create laws again that we should stone gay people and adulterers (every person that ever cheated on their partner) because that's also pretty clearly stated in the bible. You can't just go half way and say you just condemn it verbally but then not also go with the second half of that particular law that demands to stone those people to death. What about all the dietary laws, are you following every single one of them?
      As you said the bible is no subjective salad bar so you would have to follow EVERY of the 613 laws it mentions, not just focus on the one about gay people.
      I would just live my life the way Jesus did, show compassion to the ones who sin, forgiveness, mercy. Basically hate the sin, not the sinner. Also gay people don't willingly decide to be gay, they are born that way (just like there are also gay animals like giraffes sometimes, it just sometimes happens in nature). We don't know why it happens but it happens on its own, it's not a decision, so you can't blame them for their nature. It would be better to as I said be like Jesus and show a bit of compassion, even if you think it's wrong or evil then let God be their judge when they die, it's not our job to be their judge.

    • @Jointknight

      @lp4514 A. This is ill-informed, they are treated differently and addressed differently in the Bible.
      That being ALL sins are worthy of death.

      B. H-exual relations are stated clearly as an ab-nation, that does not put it on the same level. that means it transcends just being a sin, it's an anathema to human flourishing, which is the point of the Old Testament, under God.
      Adultery (there really isn't much difference with divorce) is abhorrent, but it's not the same thing as h-exuality.
