One of the largest gatherings of European royal families in recent history assembled for the wedding of the exiled Greek King and Queen's eldest daughter, Princess Alexia at Saint Sophia Cathedral, London on Friday.
Princess Alexia married Spanish architect Carlos Quintana.
The Greek Orthodox Saint Sophia Cathedral of London saw one of the largest gatherings of European families on Friday.
Royal families from around Europe gathered for the the wedding of the exiled Greek King and Queen's eldest daughter, Princess Alexia to Carlos Quintana.
Royals from Spain, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Holland, Belgium and Luxembourg, as well as from Jordan attended the service.
The British Royal Family were represented by the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip himself being of Greek descent, and the Prince of Wales, Prince Charles.
Following the wedding in west London, the centre of London's Greek community, guests moved on to Kenwood House, owned by English Heritage and close to King Constantine and Queen Anne-Marie's residence in Hampstead, north west London.

Greek Orthodox wedding ceremonies are so beautiful! The air of sanctity is truly a magnificent thing to witness.

Beautiful wedding 💒
Los reyes Constantino y Ana María son tan bellas personas 💕💝 Es una lástima que no hayan podido reinar. Lamentablemente el pueblo griego no supo apreciar la a esta familia real, que es la más hermosa de todas

Que guapa estaba
What a shame that Greece didn’t retain the Royal Family - it would have been great for the country. 🇬🇷
You are an idiot. He was not a good king. And he is not Greek.
The problem is the Greek politicians & a troubled history dating back to WWI
Es verdad. La casa real más hermosa y no pueden reinar.. una pena 🥺
All my ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ has been Greeky ...
Bonita boda❤
In times like this, with much destructive force it is so import to pull strength from our culture. Europe has a long tradition of supporting their Kings and the Royal Families. They have so much to offer of their lands culture they know the history of their palaces. The Scandinavian countries model have so much to offer. The people love when they open up their weddings, their beautiful gardens, interesting exhibitions about their antiques and history. Greece you have always had your kings you kingdom, why do you not choose the Scandinavien Model with their openness. It is much more fun to have a King and Queen, the country will be way more happy and all your beautiful castle and parks will again have the "ROYAL TOUCH".
We still love our Royal Family and Greece will always be their homeland. Nothing and nobody can change that. May God bless all of them, every day!
@divineangelvoice - The Greek royal family was a Danish transplant. Not Greek. The government approached the major European royal houses and basically asked for a volunteer for their throne; they had deposed their former king, Otto, the second son of King Ludwig I of Bavaria, in 1862 . After several royal princes declined because of the history of governmental instability in the country, as well as the incongruity of “adopting” a non-Greek king, King Christian IX of Denmark ordered his second son, George, to do it. George married a Russian Grand Duchess (Romanov), and reigned for 50 years before being assassinated in 1913. So you see, your perception of what a “Greek” monarchy could do for the country is way our if line with true European royal houses. I am not insulting former King Constantine II has proven himself to be very loyal to the Greek people, and to be a good man, however….the whole issue is with the Greek politicians who treated their imported royals like crap.

Bezaubernd 😊
Και μη χειρότερα...βασιλιάδες τον 21 ο αιώνα!!!!!!!!!...
I have been looking at the videos of Prince Paul and Princess Alexia's weddings back in 1995 and 1999 and I find that these two weddings were attended by more royalties than the one of Prince Phillipos this past Saturday. Also in these videos, we see part of the ceremony inside which we don't see so far with Prince Phillipos religious wedding ceremony. Is just an observation
Pro Covid weddings
1st: those weddings were before Covid
2nd: Philippos got married in Greece, in the main Cathedral of Athens. Greece is not a monarchy while the UK is. It would have been too far if they decided to film the wedding.
3rd: Prince Pavlos was born heir
Did Marie Chantal convert to the GO faith?
@@lizziebkennedy7505 I checked in a magazine I have here called Majesty and in it they say that Marie Chantal Miller converted to Greek Orthodoxy on the 22 May 1995 a few weeks before her July 1 wedding to prince Pavlos. She had to go to this process since she was marrying the potential heir to the fallen Greek throne.
Hepy briday for you
Princess Alexia and husband architect problems with both i need help i Russian very bad constrution...
Holi
the ONLY country with Imported Kings.
Not true. Bulgaria, Albania, Romania etc. you need to learn more LOL.
@@chicagomike OH NOOOOOOO......I thought we ( greeks) are special.....
maybe we can start a new trend here, or a new company to sell new kings to those who need them.
Y España?
Britain too...

How silly! Prince Philip wasn’t of Greek _descent,_ as it says in the description….he had a Greek _title!_ He was of Danish, Greek, Russian (Romanov), and German descent. And not one drop of Greek blood!
Like the rest of the 'Greek' Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburgs, members of the former Royal Family.
But Greece doesn't have kings and queens
They r exiled king n queen(former)
A referendum occurred in Greece by vote in 1974 about whether to keep the Royal Family going - they decided not to. That’s a shame, as it would have been better for Greece if they were retained I think.
@@angelwings3128 I also think so!
No it was much worse and no one cared about them except george 2 and.....thats it their prime ministers where more famous
They are not at all of Greek blood or from Greek families.....nothing against the people I'm sure they are kind at heart ....but they were just given Greek names and converted to orthodox religion...as far as I know they descendants from German English and Danish royal houses. So what makes them Greek 🤔 🙄
