I love Luke's birds. Every time he talks they just chirp along with him. It's so cute. I mean, it's a bit like mic interference, but that timing is kinda what makes it adorable.

RUclips keeps blocking his comments you can find the timestamp doc on ltt subreddit
It's RUclips shadow banning him.
@@manjunathyashas2880 but why? Did he do something wrong?
@@Random_dud31 Blame Elon.
He's causing a disaster over on Twitter and RUclips have turned their defences up to 11, fearing that this "contagion" might spread to other social media.
You'll also notice that they're messing around with usernames and adding a Twitter-like "@" in front of names, which I think is part of the defences to harden up usernames to avoid the rampant impersonation going on at Twitter with the blue tick disaster coming over here.
I don't doubt all the social media are hardening defences right now. To keep the Twitter meltdown strictly happening on Twitter alone.
@@Random_dud31 He was usefull. That is unacceptable by RUclips.
As much as I love the WAN show, I hate it when Luke is explaining something and Linus talks over him (especially when Luke is remote and harder to hear), and I miss what Luke was explaining because of Linus' tangent. No hate, love LTT, just being honest.
No no, linus is the main character. He is much more important.
@@vitfirringur now that linus is gone, luke is the main character, saw many moments luke just went on over Riley lol
I agree. Luke often has a point he wants to make with a full beginning, middle and end and Linus jumps in while he's barely got to his main arguement to dunk on his like, ground laying opening points which are often not what he believes, but what he understands others believe and wishes to acknowledge
Hate no hate? 🤣
@@yardh Love LTT in general; hate one particular irritant in the WAN show. It's not difficult to understand. I get bewildered by how uncivil conversations have become in general, people interrupting each other all the time. That just shows my age, I guess.
I love Riley's take on Andor. Such an amazing take on a Star Wars property. I really enjoy how they explore the intricacies of the formation of the rebellion and the inner workings of the ISB.
Riley is great, so well spoken and quick on his feet, loved it!
Luke's birds and Riley all in the same episode this is a great WAN show :)

Hey, just a point of clarification as someone who lives in Dublin and has friends at twitter! Initially it WAS absolutely a 'get back to the office or else' scenario. The stance only changed when it was highlighted that this literally wasn't possible for some employees, also entirely likely that the new owner realised that Ireland has a lot more protections than other places and that would not fly legally
It's not the first time LTT has picked a former bad value card to justify a new bad value card as not bad. Even against 3080 ti you compared it to a 3090.
Stop ignoring the $699 3080 10GB. No one is telling you to compare 4080 to 3060, compare it to 3080.
I liked much more gamer's nexus review of the 4080. The main point was that the price to performance almost didn't change. For me it's a very important metric and the main point of the release
Yup. GN kept it simple. Price to Performance one of the worst. Even though the card itself was good.
LTT had the original title as Nvidia lied to us in a good way!
Thumbnail was Anthony and around wattage that it used. AMD was mentioned as a bare minimum.
Like we know it is good, 4090 already proved the Ada Lovelace GPU's will be good. The main issue that was price to performance felt like they just weren't focussed on that aspect. It's a review, but just not the hardware aspects. That is just one part to a product. It's an important part, but still just a part.
@@SumitShrivastava17 but like they said in the Wan show, doesn't matter what they say on the video if people keep buying the cards there's nothing they can do about it. If people want the prices to go down then stop buying them. AMD cards don't look cheap either at 900+
@@SpektrikMusic This can be used as an argument for every review then. If people are gonna buy it anyway, why do a review? If you do a review, then review the product as it is: A bad value card that only exists to make the 4090 look good and to clear 3000 inventory. If you start saying that every card is good then the review is useless
@@SumitShrivastava17 your main issue is your amd wasn’t mentioned so your fangirl senses started tingling 😂😂😂
how dare people not love amd universallly
As of today, Nov 19th, at some large web retailers here in Europe:
1) PcComponentes: About 18 RTX 4080 models offered, with almost all of them in stock and available for purchase, with prices starting at 1499 euros (VAT incl.)
2) CaseKing: About 15 RTX 4080 models offered, with half of them sold out, with prices again starting at 1499 euros (VAT incl.)
3) Computeruniverse: About 11 RTX 4080 models offered, starting at 1549 euros (VAT incl.), with 9 of them being in stock
4) Overclockers UK: About 21 RTX 4080 models offered, with almost all of them in stock, with prices starting at 1299 pounds (VAT incl.)
PS: Please do not buy this card. Boycott these absurdly high prices with your wallet.
Yeah. From what I understand 4080 isn't selling well and there are still stocks even today. I don't know where Linus got the idea that 4080 sold out on day one. I think he are making up fact just to support his position.
Man, I still can't believe that we're paying 1500€+ for a 80 class card. The 980 and 1080 were 549€ and 599€ respectively, with good OEM cards aviable at a 50-100€ premium.
East Europe is here, I'm just waiting for December to change my GTX 1080 with 7900XT(X)
Yes in the uk you can get so many 4080, no stock issues as no one is buying the 4080 in the UK.
@@L9MN4sTCUk why can’t we afford lights? What bollocks are you trying to imply?
crazy how you guys talked about the 4080 selling out instantly, the microcenter by me still has at least 100 4080s in stock according to their website. Has been like that since launch.
komplett has 5 models at 100+ in stock, a minimum of 742 in stock when I counted and they have not moved many cards the last 2 days.
Maybe Nvidia is finally getting the message, but I doubt it, might ge enough dumb people to buy up this overpriced crap card.
23 in stock here.
You'll have that with artificially limited stock.
The Taskmaster mention from Luke made me happy. Definitely a unique panel show worth binging.
Thank you RUclips for removing timestamp guy's comments from the comment section, but keeping the WhatsApp scam bots. You are doing Satan's work. 👏👏👏
Hey, you leave Satan out of this! He's just misunderstood.
Linus, the way at will employment works in the US is that if you don't have a contract either party can terminate the employment at any time but that doesn't preclude an employee who's fired illegally from filing suit, as they are still protected by federal labor and anti discrimination laws and stuff like that.
So you've got to look at both the state and federal laws to really understand the whole system.
It's a hot mess in short. The laws vary so much by state that it's probably just easier to pay anyone off than try to fight so many people.
@@rmo9808 Yeah, but unless you make enough money, have enough people, or are large enough, no one is really going to make a fuss.
Employment law in Ireland puts the burden of proof on the EMPLOYER. Which means if I claim I was fired illegally, they have to prove they fired me legally. So I start my lawsuit from a much stronger position. If, on preponderance of the evidence, it is not clear I was fired for a legal reason - I win.
The US doesn't have that AND has at-will employment. They really compound into a system where the business wins.

1:16:50 Knowing that Luke watches Taskmaster is somehow the highlight of this WAN show for me. I absolutely love that show.
I used an external GPU that was literally an adapter plugged into the WWAN card port of my laptop and it was glorious. I had to restart 3-5 times to get it to work most times if I disconnected it. Went from single digits in Unigine Valley on integrated to like 60fps though.

I had similar results using the express port on my laptop.

LUKE! Taskmaster is HILLARIOUS. I watch an episode on my way to work and it's honestly great. I'm the same way though where I forget about it for a month or 2 lol
I watched the first three series this week, it's awesome.
"Until gamers stop buying nvidia cards at inflated prices". That is one of the core problem. Many people keep complaining but at the end of the day, they still chose to buy Nvidia cards. Not only that, there are influencer/techtuber out there who keep saying it's not worth it to buy Nvidia, etc etc, but in the end, they still using nvidia majority. In my view, people only want amd there to keep nvidia prices as low as possible. In the end they will still buy nvidia even if competitor offer far better in value cards. (Sorry for the bad english)
Something about Radeon is so fucking ugly. The naming is ugly, the cards look ugly. I really want one but god damn it’s hard to choose over nvidida.
It also doesn’t help when their garbage writers call the 4080 “a great value, all things considered.”
Their shitty reviews since the 3060 release that have been blatant advertisement for Nvidia’s stuff is more to blame than Linus will ever admit.
@@Boogerdick69 its ok man. Anybody can use what they think is best for them. What you just describe is what you value the
most. My point is only for those who are conscious about pure value per performance and the overall situation that i think is problematic which bring us to this kind of pricing from nvidia. Buy what makes you happy.
Yup pretty much. Compare this to cpus, where people actually bought Ryzen cpus in large amounts, and now both AMD and Intel are competitive because people are equally willing to buy both.
I just hope AMD catches up soon so us RT enjoyers get more options but for now there is only Nvidia

I can't believe the sheer coincidence of Riley talking about Andor and Luke talking about Taskmaster. Two shows that couldn't have less in common, but somehow both featuring Benjamin Harvey Bailey Smith AKA Doc Brown.
I have exclusively owned Nvidia high-tier cards for 20 years.
The 7800 GTX, 8800 GTX, the GTX 280, 480, 580, 780, 1080, and currently 2080 Ti.
This will be the first time I am not buying an Nvidia card. The 4080 would suit me fine, but it's beyond fucking ridiculously expensive. Here in Sweden, it costs $2'000+.
And as we all know, no one is unique. If I am abandoning Nvidia, I am representing a group of some size, of people who will abandon Nvidia.
I will buy a 4080 if they drop the price to around $850. Otherwise, I'm simply not buying it.
I had a 670, 2 kepler titans, a 980ti, a 1080ti, and then an rx 6900xt. I havent had any complaints so far tbh
Does that mean you're open to the idea of purchasing a 7900 XT or XTX or will you just wait for Nvidia to release something you want to buy?
Cool
@@WhatWouldYouHaveYourArbiterDo He clearly is implying he will go AMD (or ARC lol) if they don't make adjustments.
I've been using nothing but Nvidia as well (starting with 8800 GT) until last gen when I bought a Radeon 6000 series card and it's been good. I don't use the type of applications where you'd need CUDA cores or Nvenc so honestly, I can't even tell the difference other than Adrenalin which I've found to be better to use than GeForce Experience. At first I thought that it's nice to have the option to look at both vendors if the experience of using either is as equal as it's been for me but now I'm starting to think if I should just proceed buying only AMD to support competition in the marketplace.
you can plug in 8pin into 6pin PCIe power just fine, it just needs to be 6-8 and not 8-6 on the card, the right side of 8pin is compatible with 6 pin. no mod necessary (if the card has 2mm of space left of the plug)
22:00 I had my PC like this for quite a while some years back, but instead of having a launch sequence whenever I wanted to turn on my machine, I actually did things somewhat properly.
I used a mosfet to bridge the green pin to ground when the main PSU turned on, that way the slave PSU would turn on automatically.
I don't know if you all have already tested, but I heard that using a DirectX wrapper that convert DX to Vulcan will resolve different problem and can boost old DX game. Maybe will not be good to use it on online games, but would be nice to see your approach on it.
Edit: in regards on using Intel arc
In the "second PCIe slot for GPU", I think it was about mechanical support to the GPU, and maybe extra power. It would be enough to use PCIe x1 slot.
Allthough i watch about 95%of LMG content and channel superfun is my favorite but the WAN SHOW is by far the best lmg long format content on youtube thats reviewing things more in depth.

Luke should've waited for Linus to talk about the Doom Eternal Soundtrack, it's a really interesting and deep read and Luke didn't do it justice. I recommend everybody do their own reading into what happened. Mick Gordon recently published his own article on it which covers everything.

I have never worn Vessi shoes so this is not specifically a comment on their products, BUT I have had "waterproof" shoes that I quite liked and were sealed very well, but I have still managed to in heavy rain and while bicycling get them soaking wet through and through. These were a columbia sportswear shoe with their DryOut technology which is very similar to gortex. I love this material and it has performed well most of the time. However, when there is enough rain and water kicked up from the ground water WILL get in. So I agree with Linus there, at the very least waterproof should always have a big * defining to what standards or expected conditions it will be waterproof.

I got a prebuilt 3070 pc back in Covid times because prices kept going up.
I brought before it got more expensive, if i had waited for prices to come down i would be paying 500-1000 dollars more for the build and setup I have.

My options was pay for expensive prebuilt 3070 or wait for prices to come down MAYBE which they still have not.
To be fair, 6900 xt MSRP was $999. So they are pricing the 7900 xt and xtx right in line with last gen.
The 7900xt is cut 2x as much as 6800xt was cut down. And it's only $100 price drop vs $350 last generation to $649.
@@eugkra33 that's a fair point, but 1k for their top one is on par with last gen.
@@eugkra33 Depends how you look at it.
Before you were paying an extra $250-$350 for maybe an extra ~10 percent in performance. Now you are paying $100 for ~10-15 percent difference.

We will really have to see the 7700xt/7800xt to see the pricing and performance difference. For all we know the 7800xt is $650 and is 90 percent the performance as the 7900xt.
$999 MSRP and now it comes with 50% memory. The 7900XTX is actually pretty good imo, the XT is ehhh less good

1:14:27 I finally agree with Riley! Andor is the prequel to Rogue One and surpasses Rogue One in every way. It explains the specific behaviors of the Empire that sparks the Rebellion and how that Rebellion is formed. I feel like an empty space in Canon has finally been filled.
I have a higher opinion of most of the starwars TV shows than he does anyways, but Andor is definitely a top tier show
It might be a bit better than Rogue One, but not too much. However, I think they're both rather good.
Did it get better after episodes 2 and 3? I stopped watching around that point because it was turning into a daytime soap-opera fake drama, to me, filled with overacting extras who didn't seem to add substance to the story. And I'm a child from the 70s who saw all the films in theaters.

I don't get what people are going on about with Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Almost 30 hours and very few performance issues. Its a Pokemon Game, 20FPS every once in a while does NOTHING to the gameplay or experience.
On the Pokemon topic, Gamefreak already has multiple teams that rotate through each release. This is the state of scarlet/violet after 3 years of dev time. I think a big factor is that they still insist on writing their own game engine. BDSP was built in unity and while they made a lot of bad decisions around that game, technically speaking it performed great.
1:03:37 With regards to using 2 PCIe slots, you could use the second slot to provide additional support. But not populate the the fingers beyond power and ground, which would give you an extra 75W of power available to the card.
I want to see external GPU's become more common. I believe with them getting as big as they are. I would like to see that be an option for self sustained little chassis, cooling, and power.. I would also like to see LTT do a lot of testing with compatibility on that.

With the rapid increase in prices across the board for PC hardware over the last few years, it's actually difficult to be excited about new hardware launches. On top of that, it seems most new hardware is taking a brute force approach, where the performance increase is mostly mirrored by the power usage. With the global increase in electricity costs, this is not a good trend. I know that a lot of gamers buy hardware without actually considering the running costs, but at this point, we're seeing total system power consumption actually reaching upwards of 800-1000W for a really high end system. To me, an exciting hardware launch next cycle would be same performance as now, with significantly less power usage, and hopefully lower prices.
I listen to the show while I am working 3rd shift network stuff ..
Looks like I’m not alone.
Imagine Intel calling Luke in a few weeks: "How did you manage to short out this card?" - "Yeah, so I had this voltage differential between my two power supplies..." :D
