Hi Jennifer. I was a little "ticked" when I saw the title of your video so I HAD to check it out. I have lived in Middle Tennessee my entire life, for the exception of a short period of time in Colorado. We moved to Franklin 20 years ago. Our home has more than doubled especially in the last few years. The traffic and crowing has definitely made a difference but we've adjusted. Oh... bugs... we have a our home treated once a quarter and never have any issues inside. We also started having the yard treated for mosquitos and ticks - problem solved! Great video!! Franklin is a GREAT place to live.

I’ve moved to Huntsville, AL 6 years ago from south Louisiana and discovered Franklin soon after and feel in love with it. If only my work was closer we’d move in a heartbeat. We try to visit at least once a year for bdays or special occasions. It’s probably our favorite town around. Tennessee as a whole would be our ideal place to move to. You should do a video of Sewanee (College of the south). It’s another place we love to visit. We call it Harry Potter town.

I live in Franklin and I have had a bug person for the 8 years I have lived here. We had an infestation of brown recluses one day in our family room. Hundreds of them, it was disgusting and my biggest fear ever in life are spiders. We called the bug guys out, thank you Franklin Pest Control, who immediately came out and bombed the house and garage attics and put sticky traps everywhere. We still get them in the traps but as long as they work and the spiders die then I am good. As soon as I see one bug of any type and call them, they come right out to spray at no cost. Love, love, love Franklin Pest Control.

I think you’ll find a mix people but as far as stats go I’d probably just them up and you’ll easily see :) I think typically as it goes with major city hubs, the closer you are to the bigger city it’s probably more liberal and gets more conservative as you move out from the center. There's a lot talk about "California people" and "New York people" moving to Franklin and Williamson County but my experience is that these folks are conservatives searching for a place where the people are like minded.

Oklahoma has 62 tornadoes, not 96. Please check the map again. The comparison between states is faulty if you don't consider landmass. Texas may have more tornadoes than Tennessee because it is larger but if you compare landmass, then Texas may have fewer tornadoes.

First of all, I am making these comments a bit more then a year after the video was posted. Today is Feb 6, 2023.
    1. We moved to Tennessee from Orange County, CA in July of 2020. Some thing have changed since the video has posted. My guess is that prices have dropped a little bit. Just a guess.
    2. We chose to live in Hendersonville rather than Franklin. The main reason for this was that was because Hendersonville is on a lake and Franklin is not. Part of the deal with us moving is that I got a boat when we got here. I wanted the boat to be close (10 minutes from home) and the closest lake to Franklin is about 30 minutes. Also, we purchased a very nice 5500 sq ft house in Hendersonville. The same house in Franklin, at the time, would have cost at least $100,000 more than what we paid.
    3. Tornados. That is an interesting question. When we came to Nashville to see what it was like in 2019, I asked that question. I was told that TN does not really have tornadoes. But there have been two in Hendersonville since we have lived here. But to me it is not a big deal. The chances of it taking out my house are incredibly low.
    4. Liberal vs conservative. Hendersonville is in Sumner county and Franklin is in Williamson county. I am not saying that Williamson County is liberal, but I am saying that Sumner county is more conservative than Williamson County. We want conservatives as our neighbors. In Franklin, it is possible to get someone on the liberal side of things living next to you. They are voting in your area. If you are running from a place such as California or New York, you don’t want to jump from the frying pan into the fire. Look for the conservative areas. Check out the school systems. The public schools here, although much better than California, are somewhat infiltrated by the liberals. We, therefore chose to go the private school route.
    5. Now, my own comment about Tennessee in general. It is a great state but it is not California. I love the summer here. I don’t care about the humidity. I hang at the lake in my boat. But in the winter, it is a bit boring. Not a whole lot to do. That is something that I really miss about California. If you want to go skiing, it is about a 5 hour drive to North Carolina and the skiing is not even close to as good as Big Bear. Just a comment that you need to understand. It is harder to find winter fun here.
Just beware, there are lots of places to live around Nashville. Don’t just focus on Franklin or Brentwood. Those are very nice cities but there are other areas that are also very nice with better housing values and features that may fit your lifestyle better than Franklin.

The only thing was people from California rushing to Middle TN so they can buy a big house unlike the cardboard shacks they had in Cali. Other than that she’s just running her mouth for attention in my opinion. Giving dangerous advice like “even if you can’t find the perfect house go ahead and buy it anyway because prices are just going to continue going up.” WOW!!! I hope anyone that does that finds you when values drop and they struggle.

Compared to what’s the top area in the city where I’m from and let’s say LA compared to 2M in my area it will take starting prices around 15M in LA I know because I tried in right before this migration explosion. And I’m my world the Anaheim Ducks and LA Angels don’t exist. They don’t live in LA either. It’s all about the Dodgers!!!!! Oops I didn’t mean to drop actual facts based on personal experience while you’re trying to be cute. Speaks volumes though. For 500k in LA you get a shack and not in a nice area and not with the nice privacy that comes with having acres of land. Maybe you should go play somewhere where you can handle yourself and keep up with the adults table a bit better? Now go to your room and your mommy will bring you some hot pockets soon if you’re good. Lol ahhhhh

Houses in California have been very well built. Our codes are very strict. But I’m all for getting Californians who want to go to Tennessee out there asap. Our population grow by the 100s of thousands every week back in the 80’s and I’m anxious for people to return to their own roots in the Midwest and eastern states so we can breathe again here. No good deed goes unpunished.
I think she should have been honest about the heat and a/c heating bills though. They are very high but there’s always a trade off.

Now if they only had enough votes to legally move that Confederate Soldier statue in the middle of the town square 🤣. Unfortunately for them it's on private and not city property. I'm sure they're kvetching over it at the Sbux at 5 Points right now. Politically for reference in Williamson County in 2020 they voted 62.2% Trump / 36.1 Biden. Franklin not that wide of a margin of course. Biden won all of 3 of the 95 counties in TN.
