She's right I just did a one year tour of all US major cities and they are all facing these issues. for me Nashville traffic was the dealbreaker. That combined with dramatically different culture just didn't make it work for me.

Amazing how far out of the city this is. But, you get a McMansion with a bunch of creepy swinger grey pubes as neighbors that moved there from California. Sounds like the best of all worlds to me.

This article left out the fact that maybe Nashville is an exception but the rest of the state really does not like oot off staters moving here. They are destroying the economy . They seem to have the attitude that we need to do things differently,which we don't want to and in general we have little if anything in common. If you are unhappy where you're at, work to change it. Don't flee a disaster you helped create and then tell us we need to be like the area you left. Stay in California, New York, Mexico or wherever you are. We like our state the way it is.

Can I add one that really surprised me? The airplanes! Low flying airplanes on average every 20-30 minutes. That’s was one of three big things I was upset about. I wanted away from the city and the small town, rural life. The planes killed it for me.

No traffic at all? Not true.

Traffic in Nashville is certainly getting worse, but compared to a lot of US cities it's really not that bad except for 24N in the morning, and 24S in the afternoon drive. Most people don't choose a place to live due to the airport, and there have been massive improvement made to the airport in the last 4 years. I've never heard of anyone moving, or not moving to a city due to bike lanes. That was an odd one to throw in. The other points are legit. I'll also point out that while Nashville City is Center-Left politically, the state is Conservative and that's not likely to change so if you like the politics of CA, NY, NJ, IL....etc. you probably want to look elsewhere.

Schools. The schools are absolutely terrible here, even in the most expensive Williamson County where I live. If you’re an atheist like me, there are no non-denominational private schools, or none within a reasonable drive we could find. Seriously though, the schools are RETARDED here. We took our kids out snd home schooled them they were so bad.

I agree with those reasons you mentioned but there are others people might want to consider. I do not know whether this is appropriate but Tenn did not expand medicaid so I have had friends move out of state in order to get health care, it also caused 11 rural hospitals to close. The state does not support public education and has faced issues about book banning and passed legislation to allow teachers to have guns in the class rooms (thankfully I have not heard of any teachers saying they would) if that is important to you. It is an open carry state but I have not seen open carriers in Nashville. The state is LGBT unfriendly. If you are uncomfortable with confederate flags. The state is not friendly to women's reproductive rights. The state has no income tax but a very high sales tax meaning it depends on working people to fund the state not the wealthy people. We recently had nazis marching in the streets. So there is some other stuff you might want to consider.

Don't move to Nashville. Hell dont move to Tennessee. We're full and we dont need or want any more locusts from the coasts

Spring Hill's been great! I moved from LA in 2022 and lived at the Marriott in Mt. Juliet for a couple of months while doing research on the greater Nashville area, as I didn't want to live right in the city. My main reasons for picking Spring Hill were: 1. Nice, clean neighborhoods with beautiful houses at great price points, even on the Williamson County side (where my house is located). I had a high mortgage in LA (who doesn't?? lol) and didn't want to pick a house in Franklin with a high mortgage again, so Spring Hill was a great alternative 👌🏻 2. Safety: Spring Hill PD is very present and visible in the community, and I appreciate that. It's not an exaggeration: I see a police cruiser almost every day, and the officers are great to interact with. I tell folks, if you're doing something bad just make sure you straighten up while going through Spring Hill because they don't play 😄 3. Lots of shopping and dining options, and more opening every week it seems! June Lake and Kedron Square will add even more, so I look forward to all the variety. 4. Location: one of the best. 15 minutes from Franklin up north or Columbia down south, and 30-40 minutes to Nashville. Traffic can back up a bit, but I was used to much worse in LA so for me this isn't too bad. 5. Investment: Williamson County is the top county in Tennessee (and actually one of the best in the country!), so buying real estate here is a great investment. Been here 2 years now and I'm very happy with my choice!

With all these home prices who is able to afford this state? I complain about Florida with the average home being 400,000. With 60 to 70% living paycheck to paycheck can only afford a price of 200,000 right now. Are there any places like that in Tennessee?

Nashville sucks

I’m from Nashville, this is a list of a few small wealthy areas plenty more not listed ect . Nashville/metro has a little over 2M population. Some parts of Nashville get left out due to high crime ect and most of them small nice communities get swamped with traffic moving through Especially if there by an interstate/highway ! Nice video over all 😊
