I also had a similar experience - pleased with my hammer price then unexpected additional fee after fee after fee. It’s very predatory and I am compelled to report their practices to the BBB - for example - on my auction platform it listed the sellers fee as 25% - then on the portal it changed the fee to 49$ with additional text stating that was “the minimum”
I was going to bet this weekend (7/9/21) on Bubble Bath Babes but I decided not to at the last minute. It sold for 5000 which is not bad but then there was the 1000 premium fee. So a 5000 dollar win turns into about 6500 with taxes and fees.
Same thing happened to me 2 months ago. Their fees are the definition of greed and insanity. This is the worst auction house that exists and I'm never buying from them again.
A huge risk to pay that much for an 8.5 when no one knows how many of these are out there, and in what condition. This could drop to $200 in a few years, and the odds of it going up are very slim. But if it's something you want and you don't intend to ever sell it, it's your money so do what you want.
this is what people said about the mickey mantel card when it sold for 50k in the 90s, video game culture will keep growing and stuff like this will become worth more
Their page says to wait 7 to 14 days to receive the item. I called them on the 15th day after not receiving the item, only to find out that they had not even shipped it yet. It took me calling them for them to find out that they had made a mistake..14 days later. That is why they shipped it over night and well packaged. If It wasn't for me calling, who knows how long it would have taken. would you be fine paying for something, waiting 14 days and it not arriving. Only to call just to find out it wasn't even sent yet?
@@ninjagato8195 They admitted their error and overnighted it. If that was a regular occurance I'd likley be upset, but with the care placed in the packaging, immediate resolution - which they were honest in their response (that is rare today) - and a "one off" incident, at least from how I understand it, I'd 100% not be tearing into any company who handled the situation like that, but maybe that's just me.
@@mattjvictory he's literally just upset because he has buyers remorse, knew about the buyers premium, commercial sale so has to have taxes charged, handling fee of getting the item to him (what are they just supposed to mail it to him for free?) credit card fee even though if he sent a cheque no fee, and then upset that they overnighted the parcel to him after he didn't receive it on time which in my books is bending over backwards for the client to make it right
dude the produced those games in the multi millions......you do know that auction houses dont own the items....the hammer price mainly goes to the owner of item....then you have to run a giant business with multiple huge buildings....I mean? hello
you realize that $1200 wasn't all going to Heritage right? at most they probably grossed about 30-35% off of the $950 hammer price. and that 30-35% isn't profit... you have no idea how much goes into that business and all the expenses
Older video I know prior to what we know but the fact even back then the dude had to call to get the game....typical scam you call them its always and accident and we will overnight..at least they did.
I’m glad you make this decision before they got exposed for Mario 64 for million and Mario for 2 million because not only they have horrible customer service but they sell games that are total scams and all they want is money
Once is all it took. Those auctions are affecting everything. Used Super Mario 8.0 is going for $4,000 with one day to go. This thing is not going to stop till people stop. A sheep will do what a sheep does and these wolfs are loving it.

You paid 950 bucks for a kids toy, dude, and are now crying because all the fees are adding up. You sound like the type of guy who goes into a bar and spends 300 bucks on a bunch of ladies' drinks to try and impress them, then leaves a five dollar tip for the bartender. If you cant pony up, dont spend that kind of dough. Seems like to are buying it just to flip it.
The Point of this video was not about me paying $950. The point is about how greedy the company can be and how they did not send my game out on time. Look at the rest of my videos for the rest of my collection, $950 is nothing. As for drinking and going to bars, I don't drink at all or go to bars...Talk about a waste of money. I can jump to conclusion also...you seem pretty lonely, Let's be friends.
All of these fee’s are not only standard auction fee’s that every auction house charges, but Heritage has been extremely transparent and upfront about these costs.

I will say this . . . . .they did fine by me as a seller!
Even paid me half of the item's estimated value up front!

I honestly don't get your concerns. You had a concern with the ship times and they resolved it within five minutes, plus the packaging is A++.

You're paying that much more for the peace of mind my friend , you've got nothing to worry about with Heritage auctions.
Why would anyone pay so much for a game, also the card company don't allow sellers to charge an extra %
