However the same universities add their rankings on their website to attract more students. Most likely rankings in Germany or the DACH region won't matter. However, an international reputation will help if you would like to enhance a carrer internationally specifically in Europe. At the end of the day just as you mentioned on the video, the name of the university is just one part of the puzzle. Experience I believe is what matters the most anywhere.

Thanks for the video and your information. Your perspective on this topic is broad and can help international students make a informed decision when visiting Germany for academic pursuits. Meanwhile I came across something on the Internet known as Kunst Schule which is for art/design/fine arts/music & humanities and an alternative to FH or TU as the course are equivalent to diploma. I'm exploring this option out of curiosity since I got rejected for admission for a masters design course in a German FH. I discussed my case in one of your videos and got some interesting responses from netizens. I find Kunst Schule having a strong presence in Germany when I googled this term. Let me know if anyone is aware of these institutions as they don't follow a conventional ranking system and the talk of the town is rigorous academics / multiple rejections for admissions / clashing ideologies between student - professor - administration etc. and requirement of German language. I assume they have a strong connect with local industry over companies as their approach is vocational.

Universities rankings are just an Anglo-Saxon circle-jerks. I have many friends who studied engineering at Imperial College London, supposedly "top ranked" globally, yet my engineering degree from an unknown german university was comparatively much more intense, compressed and challenging. There are also many opportunities in Germany to find parallel student jobs in real engineering companies during one's studies. Many of those "top-ranked" engineering students in the US/UK simply ended up in finance or consulting, with little real-world engineering acumen or experience.

You are right. The main problem of German Universities is, the research is mainly done within Max Planck, Fraunhofer, Helmholtz ... etc. . In short: Nobel Prizes don't count for German Universities! The bitter truth! If you want to find out what are the best universities, find out where our Nobel Prize Laureates are "made" . Not meant as boasting. I was really amazed, why a very famous employer those days, 80ties last century, was really interested in me, although I really couldn't boast any particularly good grades on my diploma! I asked a recruiter occasionally ...later on.
His answer was: Quote:" Da machen Sie sich mal keine Sorgen, wir wissen ja, wo Sie studiert haben." Don't worry, we know where you studied. I can't say, if that can happen nowadays, but I studied at on of the TU9 Unis. My Uni was regarded to be hard core "Machinenbau" mechanical engineering Uni, that means even an electrical engineer got a broad understanding of mechanical engineering. Other TUs were famous for other subjects. Nowadays, there are as many degree programs as there are professors?!

Very easy, do maths, maths, maths, maths and ... did I mention maths? 😉 In the first years you will do such an amount of maths, you can't imagine! 3 years high school maths in some weeks! Even electrical engineering meant 2 years of maths, ... ok, last century, but it didn't change much. We did maths around the clock! At least even an average talented guy just like me, could do... Laplace Transformation for example, while sleeping,... literally. I woke up at night and wrote it down! Not a joke.

Physik is definitiv hard, vor allem an TUs.

@@zeyadfateen6497 They do, but it is like if you are there with a kid's shovel and a 40 tons truck load comes over you. Ok,... what I want to say is: Maths is always the same, around the world! Do maths as crazy, just where you are and join the local Goethe Institute where you are.
