Jesus guided me to the diary years ago. I loved it. I knew in my heart it was all so true. I love Divine Mercy. I was shocked recently to discover some of the Trad Catholics don’t believe in it. I read where some of them think it’s demonic. You could have blown me over with a feather. I was totally stunned to say the least. I find that totally mind boggling. So sad to lose all those graces. 😳. 💕🙏😇

I wonder why they think the diary is demonic. Maybe they don't think Jesus should be generous, which is what the diary conveys. Mercy.

@@Minga-pi3fo I think it's more the rather insane-sounding self-congratulatory praises Sr. Faustina appears to have slipped in there (ex: one where Jesus allegedly claims that she is the most dear to Him of all creatures, which obviously heretical and blasphemous towards the Blessed Virgin if taken literally), but then I've also heard that's a bad translation so personally I don't know what to believe.

I know right? I have a friend who is a Trad and a few years ago I asked her if she was going to celebrate Divine Mercy. She said “no”. I quizzed her but she skirted around the subject. I thought that was odd because she’s very religious. But I didn’t push her. Then recently I was watching a video and the person said some trads don’t celebrate Divine Mercy. Then I got curious and googled do trads believe in Divine Mercy that’s when I read some think it’s demonic. I wondered how can you be a trad and NOT believe in Divine Mercy. It blew me away. But, hey, that’s why the Church and the world are in such a mess. 💕🙏😇

3 weeks after my mother had died in 2002, I was awoken at 3AM by her voice calling my name. I instantly knew that she was much younger, about 25 years old. I also sensed an urgency in her call. I also heard the growl of a demon next to her. I made a Novena to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal for her soul, and I never heard her call me after that.

I will pray. But the "generational spirit" thing is an erroneous myth going around some Catholic circles. Christ frees us. We are not bound by the sins of our forefathers. Depression is real and hard. But don't add to the struggle by thinking of it as something you've inherited.

@@susanwright4414 I disagree. That book promotes superstition and scrupulosity. Telling those who struggle with terrifying things that they need extremely specific deliverance prayers to find healing is very irresponsible of Fr Ripperger. Unfortunately, exorcists are at much greater risk of being misled into deception on these things. But the majority of exorcists seem to discourage this book and this way of thinking. Everything that we could possibly need is found in the Our Father prayer. Variety in prayer is to edify us rather than to enslave us.

Something beautiful and true in your explanation. I'm trying to prepare myself for centuries in purgatory. I live alone, quietly, in poverty and am no longer mobile. I am content with this as I always wanted to be alone and never managed to until I was in my late 50s. I knew when I was 7 years old that I would never be married or have children and was always happy with that arrangement. When I was young I did my best in looking after elderly parents until they died, worked in hospitals my whole career, never lived to excess, no hedonism or fornication etc, but I see now how far short of my Lord's expectations I have fallen. I will try to spend the rest of my life making reparation by praying for the poor souls in purgatory.

From my own observations. Purgatory is for cleansing us of all impurities. One major sin that a lot of people need to have removed from them is related to selfishness. While in purgatory or suffering in general the first thought of most would be to pray for themselves for mercy whereas we should be praying for others and waiting for and relying on the mercy of Christ. I have MS for instance I could do endless novenas to pray that I may be healed but, that is not the point. Far better for me to pary for the strength to cary this cross uniting it with Christ and allwoing my pain to be for the benefit of others. So in that way it would seem more effecatious for the souls in purgatory to pray for others uniting their suffering to Christ so that the sufferings of others may be lessened.

This is such an advanced level of understanding. How did you learn that? And it’s tricky because the gospel shows us it’s ok to BEG god for healing.
I feel like there has to be some kind of both/and where it’s ok to pray for and seek healing; and yet also make good use of the suffering ?

    • @briandaniel6354
      @briandaniel6354 10 месяцев назад +6

@@angelaonthego Between Covid and dealing with MS I have had the last 4 years to read, and to pray, and meditate on the mysteries of the faith. There is nothing wrong with asking/begging God for mercy. I believe with the simplest of movements he could heal me, or do anything for that matter. However the things we want do not always align with his plans or we will not recieve what we desire in the time we desire, sometimes we have to resign ourselfs to carry out crosses well. Ultimatly for me the disease does not present any imediate dangers it just makes things harder for me in general. I have learned to "suffer" well to offer up what I can for the sake of others and to always look to our Lord and our lady with love faith and patience. Practial things you could do is read the unabriged mystical city of God by blessed Mary of Agreda or the 7 sorrows chaplet (once daily). One of the 7 promises asociated with the 7 sorrows chaplet is “They will be enlightened about the divine Mysteries.”

Actually I'll take it one step further. Life on Earth IS Purgatory indeed for the Holy souls in Heaven. It is a fallacy that saints do not have to go through Purgatory. Whoever thinks that way doesn't understand neither Purgatory or Redemptive Suffering
Of course souls in Heaven don't have to go to the after life Purgatory but if we understand Purgatory is indeed a place of redemptive Suffering then ALL of us are called to live Purgatory here on earth, no exceptions. In fact, I would say the "traditional" Purgatory after life is nothing but a continuation of the redemptive suffering we start here on earth. That also debunks protestant's misconception that we Catholics believe Purgatory is a "second chance". It ain't... it's a continuation of the same "chance". Basically souls in Purgatory left with their work Incomplete. That's also why Indulgences are extremely useful. I view them as the "cheat sheets" of the soul. 😅

I feel that my family isolation and friends who have disappeared because my life has changed is a suffering, I’m trying to be patient about it and want to use it or rather have God use it for purgatory. As Catholics, we must believe in purgatory as part of divine revelation . This is found both in the Scriptures and the sacred Tradition of the Church. However, private revelations, even by saints are not infallible dogmatic statements. As such, they are subject to misinterpretations and even error on the part of the saint. The presence of demons in Purgatory has never been taught by the magisterium of the Church, neither has the type of purgation. As private revelation it should be viewed with caution and prudence and not as defined dogmatic truths of the Catholic Faith.

Ultimate love is ultimate vulnerability. God incarnate is born and raised under incredibly vulnerable circumstances. His agony in the garden shows us His complete grasp of the coming passion and the human toll to endure. Every bit of Him is made vulnerable to incalculable cruelties in order to expose and transform evil, and to visibly triumph over the powers of darkness on earth and below. If it is our will to follow Him, then fear (the opposite of love and vulnerability) must be pushed away again and again.

I am already starting my purgatory. I suffer from generational sexual sin disorders. This goes back to my great grandfather, grandfather, mother, son, etc. it is a terrible sin that causes mental illness and distortion. I have already seen the effects right here on earth. Sin is not a laughing matter. This world is far too lenient about sin. Everything and I mean everything must be purified and atoned for. I could go on and on… but I will just end with seek to live a holy life.

I wonder why there would be demons in Purgatory. I’m not saying they aren’t. But once you’re purified you will go to Heaven. So it seems like a lost cause for them. All cause for them is lost. But it looks like they would move to snatch more souls that they actually can.

I have read other revelations of Purgatory that have stated that there are different levels there. I remember that the lowest level(s) are much like Hell. However, the souls there know that they will not be there forever. I believe that demons are only in these lowest levels. If we remain and die in a state of grace we have nothing to worry about because when our time comes to depart from this world, we will not be sent there.

I don't get the part about "who do you want to be in Heaven". I very much doubt there are real estate agents up there. Or lawyers. Carpenters I can understand, of course. But there is probably a bigger question here about God unlocking our potential. I believe it was Fr. Alar who said that in Heaven there will be one thing that we're the best at doing, better than everyone else. I don't know how correct this understanding of Heaven is, it's all too mysterious and imponderable to me, but I've been meditating on this and it at least makes some sense to me, because our earthly lives in all probability hasn't walked us through the path of full self-actualization. But maybe I'm misunderstanding what St. Faustina is teaching us.

This honestly isn't making sense to me. I thought life was a learning experience. If we somehow sensed we could've helped someone in a situation by saying certain things, but lacked the faith or courage, I don't see why we're punished for this. It doesn't make sense to be punished for something that you were not even aware you were capable of doing, this seems totally out of whack. Most of the time it is only later (sometimes years later) that I realize I could've done this or that differently after seeing someone else doing it. I'm not getting the point here.

Agreed. #1) Purgatory is suffering that could be avoided while on earth by embracing our suffering and inconveniences. #2) Perhaps there are some demons in Purgatory although I tend to believe that is the case indeed.
Disagree. #1) Souls in Heaven have the same personality and relationships as they were on earth when they died. Wrong. That contradicts the Gospels and Teachings of the Church. Our Blessed Lord clearly indicated that in Heaven even married couples while on earth will be related to each other in a different way, like angels, not as married couples. You're further wrong in saying that we need to relate with as many different personalities as possible because that's what we're going to encounter in Heaven. Not so. That almost implies that there are inconveniences in Heaven that we need to “tolerate”. That's here on earth and in Purgatory but NOT in Heaven! There're ZERO suffering or inconveniences in Heaven. Yes it is true that when we die we need to have at least some basic characteristics that we take to Heaven or Purgatory such as dying in grace and some basic friendship with the Lord. But even the most hollies souls on earth (with the exception of our Blessed Lady of course) need to change or become fully purified before entrance into Heaven and by necessity that requires metanoia, or a 180° change in certain behaviors just before we transcend this time/space dimension so there's ALWAYS a change in personality that is required before we go to Heaven or even Purgatory. In fact, that's precisely what happens in Purgatory. Souls there are purified or transformed before entering Heaven. That entails a change in personality as well sir. Furthermore remember, after death ALL souls, even those in hell, will no longer have their flesh and therefore they will see things differently on that fact alone.
Of course your basic internal disposition remains intact. More specifically, if your heart harbors darkness and rebellion you will remain that way. But if you have at least a fraction of goodness and are in grace, that will also remain with you first in Purgatory if you end up there and then in Heaven. But even that keeps growing in Heaven…it doesn't stay the same.
#2) You said that the suffering at the “bottom” of Purgatory is the same with the same demons as in Hell. Wrong. Demons in Purgatory (if there are any) cannot torture anyone as if that was Hell. In fact I seriously doubt they are even remotely allowed to touch souls in Purgatory. Their only “mission” there if you will is to harass souls as part of the process of purification. Of course they know they can't take a single soul away from Purgatory BUT they hate humans so profoundly that even though they hate being used to purify souls in Purgatory, they “enjoy” doing it. Yes, that's still torment, but not even close to the torments of Hell which are Forever and of infinite magnitude and where demons of course are allowed to touch and assault the souls of the damned with no or little restrictions. Not so in Purgatory sir. The main source of suffering in Purgatory are the souls themselves with their yet to be cleansed imperfections, not demons!
