SKI BLADES (Rollerblades for snow?) - Night "Skiing" at Brighton Resort, Utah

  • I go up to Brighton Resort in Big Cottonwood Canyon, Utah. To take advantage of the best night "skiing" in the country. Except, I don't actually ski. I try out my own ski blades for the first time and didn't really know what to expect. Spoiled alert, I loved it and had the absolute best time. It's deff harder than skiing in some respects since you don't have a long platform supporting you. But the maneuverability and overall fun are unmatched!

    Furthermore, here is what you need to know - I stutter, skate, and sometimes ski (I know the name came out of nowhere ;), and I'm excited to make videos that show different rollerblading/inline skating perspectives. I'll share tutorials, product reviews, and good ole skating with friends. If you like what you see, please consider subscribing. It would mean the world.

    I always conceptualize my downhill skating as a type of skiing.

    I never thought of Ski Blades as being rollerblades of the snow... I've been ski-bladding since 2001. Stil have my first pair of Blizzards.
    Maybe I should try rollerblading?

      How do you feel about wheels?

    • @commontater8630
      @commontater8630 10 месяцев назад +1

      Seriously, if you have the kind of balance needed for those shorties, you'll find rollerblades hella fun.

      @@commontater8630 Thank you for your posts, I appreciate it.
      I've been skiing since I was very young, I was around 10-11 when I got those skiblades, early 30's now. I don't really have any balancing issues on skis/blades, and I actually prefer the blades over the longer skis as it's harder to cross them and it's easier to move around with the blades, for me anyways, but it sounds like it's a more difficult thing to pick up for some such a the video creator.
      I don't have an issue with wheels, and I have roller bladed/skated in indoor skate rinks before when I was younger, but I'm not sure how well I would do on certain surfaces and such.
      Rollerblading on NYC's busted roads? That's wild.
      It seems that some prefer the single lined blades compared to the 4 squared legs that are on the skates. I'm not sure if there is a reason one would use one over the other.
      Do you skate as well?

    • @commontater8630
      @commontater8630 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@AlvinKazu Yes. I don't know what you mean by '4 squared legs' unless you're referring to traditional roller skates. Rollerblades are 'in-line' skates.
      You can skate in traffic, on broken pavement etc like the videos but not necessary for fun. Skating on gentle grades is a lot like skiing. For the ultimate surface I used to skate the local airstrip, till one of the pilots warned me that a plane landing behind me would be practically silent!

      @AlvinKazu 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@commontater8630Sorry, I should have said "4 skate feet in a square pattern" or something. I meant traditional roller skates.
      Skating in an airport seems like fun with all of that smooth surface.

    probably not harder than skiing, just not the right tool for carving at high speeds, hitting a 360 on em must be nice and easy though
    I would much rather hit a backflip on these than on actual skis

    • @AlvinKazu

      They have been called skiblades for decades. I have my first pair from 2001, they were called skiblades then.
