I bought the Bacon Fat Album in like 1969 or 70,...I can't remember now,.....it was such "cool" group. I still have it,...the tunes are all on You Tube,....which is great. I was just beginning high school at the time, and I was learning how to play blues harp, too. I was buying all the albums that featured great harmonica playing I could get my hands on. Usually at a used record shop,...Blues wasn't as popular as it became among the younger generations. My friends were all into 1970s Rock & Roll,....So strictly blues albums were less popular. That meant when you found them used, they were in excellent condition, as they had practically no wear, & no scratches.
Same here - my intro to Rod Piazza happened in the mid-80's when I picked up an album for about $1.75 at a Tower Records clearance sale. I have over a dozen of his albums (ie CDs) and collections now. One of my all time favorites, have seen him and his Mighty Flyers about half a dozen times live, always a high energy killer show!
@@paulfisher3596Cool! I live in a college town, and there is a lot gently used, record stores, blocks from my house. I just remembered I have a (working) cassette tape from the 1990s of Rod's harp playing. ( and I still have a working player).
@@paulfisher3596 If you like all blues harp players & their bands, give the music of The Fabulous Thunderbirds, a listening to. Featuring the older brother of Stevie Ray Vaughan, ( on guitar) and their harp player Kim Wilson. Kim is a great harp player and has a gutsy singing voice. The whole band really rocks.

In my opinion, Harpburn is maybe one of the best bluesharp albums out there. Rod at his best.
