Scarface is THE most underrated MC. He does not get anywhere near the respect he deserves.
Hes top 5 dead or alive, and imo probably the best to come out of Texas
Just my opinion
1. Nas
2. Scarface
3. Rakim
@@MrLuke9980 respect to anyone wit face and the god in their top list
Wouldn't say he's underrated, maybe by the new generation
Facts my song is on the fix Jesse James pt2
This song is just pure poetry.
Scarface " A minute to pray a second to die" Storytelling at its finest.🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
Neva seen a man cry, til I seen a man die! Realest lyrics ever spoke!💯🕊️
You gotta realize, we were coming out the crack era. Violence in cities was at it highest point in a long time. We didn't have the internet, and if you were deep in the hood, it was real hard to see past that. All that just bred some deep creativity.
@@kinglistosas5010 True.
@@kinglistosas5010 Yeah bro, my young bro in-law laughs at how nihilistic my (our) generation is. I tell him, many of us lived that life. And many of those who didn't were still surrounded by that culture.
i flew from Denmark Europe to Seattle in 2016 to attend a Scarface concert on the Icon Tour, and i was buying a scarface t-shirt from this merchguy, and asked me where i came from, i told my story and he was so amazed that he hooked me up with a scarface meet up after the concert. i will never forget that day.
@ronnihedegaard1974 that's sick dude
As an old head, I respect the shit outta your take on older hip-hop. So much substance. There is still good music being put out, but '90s were the decade! Keep reviewing big tracks!
Glad you appreciate our 90s shit. It was like no other era.
One of my personal top 5 rappers. period.
Scarface the best storyteller in the south plus the best storyteller in Houston period that album was super classic amazing whennthis came out in 1994 went number 1 on the chart today rap don't make no songs like this today that's why I love the 80s n 90s hip hop forever ..stay Blessed bro .love from Houston tx
I remember listening to this song for the first time and thinking… “This one song should save a lot of lives, but unfortunately it won’t..”
If you like that, you will definitely love Scarface- A Minute To Pray and a Second To Die.
My man. It is so refreshing to see our young people feeling the music that came before them as we did back in the day. Great reaction as usual. I enjoy hearing your thoughts.... Check out Scarface/Ice Cube "The hand of the dead body"....Classic... and Scarface "It ain't" ?(shit)....G as hell.
FACTS .... THIS YOUNG BROTHER SHOWS THAT YOUTH UNDERSTAND THE IMPORTANCE OF CONTENT IN THE MUSIC TOO
Jesse james
For me Scarface is the greatest storyteller all time and its not even close. As dope as this is its nothing for Scarface.
Scarface=immortal technique.Both dope.
man i just had this same conversation at work the other day. scarface and the geto boys could paint pictures in your mind and you can visualize every single word.
Nas got something to say about that. I respect your opinion tho.
The Diary is required listening. An instant classic.
“NOW I FEEL YA” - SCARFACE
Scarface featuring Ice Cube - Hand of the dead body
Scarface featuring Tupac - Smile
Scarface your favorite rappers favorite rapper 💪🏾
Scarface honestly and just my opinion the 2nd best Emcee's of all time behind Nas....
one of the most slept on mc's of all time, Scarface is a legend, st8 G
The only MCs as storytellers that can even come close to Scarface would be the Great Slick Rick, NAS and Andre 3000, in my opinion. Scarface is the greatest at this type of rhyming. Straight up down South, 90s banga.
Biggie, Ice Cube, Ghostface we’re great story tellers too.
Agreed but don’t forget Ice Cube
@@ArtisanWindchimes Death Certificate alone.
Let’s not forget Kool G Rap!
Dont forget Kool g rap
“The life you use to live, will reflect in your mother’s face…”
scarface , the diary no skips, fuckin bars
I clicked quick as shit! Thanks for doing my request! This is my favorite Face song.
Scarface is so dope man. The flow, the voice, the lyrics, the beats. I’d def recommend No Tears as well if u haven’t already.
Jay-Z feat Beanie Sigel and Scarface - This Can’t Be Life
Jay-Z feat Beanie Sigel and Scarface - Somehow Someway
Beanie Sigel feat Scarface - Mac and Brad
Beanie Sigel feat Scarface - Mom’s Praying
I'd say Rap from back then just takes you for a ride that ends up with the goosebumps allover your body, can't get the feeling with the current music.
Pure classic. Scarface don’t get much deserved respect ✊....
That album is a no skip classic
Even to mention he is an angel of death just observing a man dying, Doing nothing waiting for a soul to come out and take it. This Song is that deep.
Scarface song I'm Dead is a story too.....I remember when I first heard it back in what 90/91...I was 16l17....it was a trip
Spot on young man
I'm an old head and I love to see a youngster appreciate the 90s rap. And your take is right on, you get it
LEGENDARY.
"And you keep on blackin out and yo pulse is low. Stop tryna fight the reaper, just relax and let it go.."🔥 🔥
that Stank face you made at that bar was priceless.😭 that bar is harrowing
Scarface featuring Ice Cube- Hand Of The Dead Body is definitely a classic video and Ice Cube killed it.
One of my dopest tracks ever
Now you GOTTA GOTTA GOTTA do Hand of the Dead Body ft Ice Cube! You won't be disappointed.😉
Just found your page, and loving it! Happy to see your sincere appreciation for good music.
" Never seen a Man Cry" Is the true title of song. Happy to see the youth appreciate the music of my time as a time 👏🏽
Geto Boys,
"Mind of a Lunatic"
🔥
Scarface has such an amazing tone! It fits perfectly with rap. I think it is very important to have a great tone in both singing and rapping. My favorite singer is Brandy, and she has a beautiful tone! She also has a nice tone for rapping. She does do it a lot, though! 😁
I grow up in Serbia 90s lisening gangsta rap old school hip hop and so!Born land off Basket player Jokic(JOKER). And now im 45y old still got me .Scarface, 2pac,ice cube, easy e, public E., B.I.G, Wu T, Cyppres H,Getho B., Snoop, dr Dre, mobb D. I appreciate you letting the song rock and leaving the comments to a minimum until the end respect
Love your reactions
I’m a 80’s 90’s head myself, only few artists now rap like this but they don’t get recognized.
You right its water down for real I'm 37 I'll be 38 August 3rd next week so yea this era is so water down that's why I stay listening the 90s
Bro, you was taking me back with you, and it sounded like something I never heard... and it's because there are no story tellers in today's game! I appreciate your reviews of oldies, but goodies!
No chorus except a chilling “Man Cry” , “Man Die.” Straight narrative bars and this song is a aforementioned classic.
Another fun fact. Scarface freestyled this whole song in one take
Damn I never knew that as many times as I used to listen to this back then!
@@sirtavion20 yep! He said he sparked a blunt closed his eyes and just went
What? No,that seems...impossible. its better than anything he wrote, if this is true I will labour him the Goat.
Hand of the Dead Body next. OG banger feat Ice Cube 🔥🔥🔥
And yet another album, that takes me right back to when it dropped!! I wanna say I stole this cassette and cd like 4x lmao it was that good and I wanted to share it with da homies!

The Diary Album
For me this track goes in the top ten greatest songs of all time 😊
😆 🤣 You said Scarface sound like a narrator of a horror movie. Lol!!
Geto Boys - 'My Mind is Playing Tricks On Me' (Explicit Version of course) is a top 10 all time hip hop song & also their biggest hit.
AS A OLD HEAD . I APPRECIATE YOU SHOWIN LOVE TO MY ERA . AND US IN MY AGE GROUP SHOULD BE PROUD TO KNOW THE YOUTH UNDERSTANDS THE IMPORTANCE OF SUBSTANCE IN MUSIC
Man I grew up with my dad bumping art like this and like you said... rap today is so watered down (with some exceptions), but what hits number one most of the time is the trash a** music.
I also loved how you said his narration is like in a horror film. The way I always listen to this song was Scarface plays the role of the reaper especially when he whispers that line, “I see the fear in your eyes and hear your final breath.” But that heightens the role he’s trying to make the listeners understand. These young kids growing up in these circumstances often play the role of the reaper either holding their dead enemies or holding a dead friend (or they themselves are dying). Listen to last breaths, words, tears, and screams. The reason I feel so strongly that Scarface is the reaper is because he writes about the afterlife and watching this boy seeing everyone including the people from opposing gangs. The boy cries for the time he spent fighting against people he would ultimately spend eternity with.
I can go on forever with this, but I’m an English teacher now and this song is one of many other songs from this era and prior that I have my kids read. It really is poetry and historical and timeless because these things are still happening today , and when I make these kids read stuff like this I can only hope I’m changing them for the better. Opening their minds eye and hearts, because this song really is a personification of every day tragedies. Love your channel man!
Wow, that's awesome!👊🏿
Scarface -- No Tears
Scarface - Damn it feels good to be a gangsta
MC Eiht "Straight Up Menace"
I love to see the younger generation remember good music. Respect nephew💯💪🏿👊🏿
scarface is that dude man........as much love as he gets I still think ppl still don't quite appreciate him the way he should be....you can tell the upbringing of some of the older rap cats it reflects in how they rap and what they talk about.
One of my favorite songs ever
This shows why Scarface is the _King of the South._
scarface is truly great......I know ppl got love for him but I still feel he gets underrated.

Texas legend from the legendary Geto Boys.
goat of the south.
One of the best mc's ever last of a dying breed
This guy could be in the top 5
I saw my homie get killed when I was real young. We just got caught up in the middle of some shit and he was hit in the chest. He was 13.
Crazy as it sounds, this song really helped me bounce back from that. No one should have to wash the blood from their hands and face of a 13yr old... Let alone a kid.
90s hiphop was birthplace of titans. Glad you younger cats are appreciating it.
2022 classic bro 🔥🔥🔥
"Now you're standing in the tunnel of eternal life, and you see the ones never learned to love and like...make a choice let it go if you can back it up, if you ain't at peace with God you need to patch it up.."...unh....Scarface one of the greatest....
