i flew from Denmark Europe to Seattle in 2016 to attend a Scarface concert on the Icon Tour, and i was buying a scarface t-shirt from this merchguy, and asked me where i came from, i told my story and he was so amazed that he hooked me up with a scarface meet up after the concert. i will never forget that day.
You gotta realize, we were coming out the crack era. Violence in cities was at it highest point in a long time. We didn't have the internet, and if you were deep in the hood, it was real hard to see past that. All that just bred some deep creativity.

man i just had this same conversation at work the other day. scarface and the geto boys could paint pictures in your mind and you can visualize every single word.
The only MCs as storytellers that can even come close to Scarface would be the Great Slick Rick, NAS and Andre 3000, in my opinion. Scarface is the greatest at this type of rhyming. Straight up down South, 90s banga.
My man. It is so refreshing to see our young people feeling the music that came before them as we did back in the day. Great reaction as usual. I enjoy hearing your thoughts.... Check out Scarface/Ice Cube "The hand of the dead body"....Classic... and Scarface "It ain't" ?(shit)....G as hell.

Scarface has such an amazing tone! It fits perfectly with rap. I think it is very important to have a great tone in both singing and rapping. My favorite singer is Brandy, and she has a beautiful tone! She also has a nice tone for rapping. She does do it a lot, though! 😁
scarface is that dude man........as much love as he gets I still think ppl still don't quite appreciate him the way he should be....you can tell the upbringing of some of the older rap cats it reflects in how they rap and what they talk about.

Bro, you was taking me back with you, and it sounded like something I never heard... and it's because there are no story tellers in today's game! I appreciate your reviews of oldies, but goodies!
Man I grew up with my dad bumping art like this and like you said... rap today is so watered down (with some exceptions), but what hits number one most of the time is the trash a** music. I also loved how you said his narration is like in a horror film. The way I always listen to this song was Scarface plays the role of the reaper especially when he whispers that line, “I see the fear in your eyes and hear your final breath.” But that heightens the role he’s trying to make the listeners understand. These young kids growing up in these circumstances often play the role of the reaper either holding their dead enemies or holding a dead friend (or they themselves are dying). Listen to last breaths, words, tears, and screams. The reason I feel so strongly that Scarface is the reaper is because he writes about the afterlife and watching this boy seeing everyone including the people from opposing gangs. The boy cries for the time he spent fighting against people he would ultimately spend eternity with. I can go on forever with this, but I’m an English teacher now and this song is one of many other songs from this era and prior that I have my kids read. It really is poetry and historical and timeless because these things are still happening today , and when I make these kids read stuff like this I can only hope I’m changing them for the better. Opening their minds eye and hearts, because this song really is a personification of every day tragedies. Love your channel man!
Ugh, this song still goes hard! I used to play the hell out of this album when it first came out! Omg, amazing album from and amazing artist! My all time favorite rapper! Love Scarface! 😁
That video is real eerie. It's like the Grimm Reaper is walking with the guy to the Lake of Fire. Great reaction video. Scarface is a legend in this Hip Hop. You should listen to Spice-1 " Face of a Desperate Man".
For real, Scarface will always be in my top 5. He's got the voice, flow, and writes some amazing lyrics man. Got this tape from my uncle when I was like 10 haha. Loved it
I saw my homie get killed when I was real young. We just got caught up in the middle of some shit and he was hit in the chest. He was 13. Crazy as it sounds, this song really helped me bounce back from that. No one should have to wash the blood from their hands and face of a 13yr old... Let alone a kid. 90s hiphop was birthplace of titans. Glad you younger cats are appreciating it.
