How to Fix Wi-Fi "Limited Connection" on Windows 8.1 ?
Step 1: Drag your mouse at the top right hand corner of your computer screen at the desktop and then click on search and Tyoe Control panel,click on it .
Step 2: Click on Network and sharing center and than click on your Wi-Fi Connection ,then click on properties and then click on Configure and then click on Power Managment and then Uncheck the option "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" and then click on Ok.
Step 3: Again ,click on properties and then click on "Internet protocol version 4" .
Step 4:Put these IP Addresses in DNS settings
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4
Step 5: Again you need to go to Properties and then click on "Internet protocol version 6" and then click on Advanced at the bottom ,and then click on DNS tab ,and then at the bottom Uncheck this "Register this connection's Addresses in DNS" and than click on ok and close all windows.
Step 5: Open Command Prompt and Run As Administrator and type
ipconfig /flushdns
Step 6: Restart your computer

I had to go back a second time and use another computer so as to pause each step in the properties and set all settings other than just the ones in yellow circle, and it worked for wireless hotspot connection!!! Thank you for the video. If I can go back thru again I will list the settings that I had to make on my HP laptop!! EDIT...Ok when you go to properties TCP/IPv4 be sure the obtain an IP address automatically is checked....the other setting as he instructs work!!! I just missed that small detail!! Thanks again for the video.........One more thing, now I can use my phone hotspot tethered with USB connection...Remember not all USB slots are equal???? One of my three works to tether... other two will not?????

Finally cracked
Download 6.35 version of Broadcom 802.11n
However, we finally realised that this Broadcom 802.11n driver program does have a version number! The old, dysfunctional one is version 6.30.223.102 and the new (working) one is 6.35.223.7.
