You are a legend! Did your fix, restarted but still had limited wifi; then did diagnose connectivity probs (through opening internet explorer) and that corrected it (after your fix). Cheers man, may the luck of the Irish be with ya!

Fine fix so thanks, man, it was a big help but I've got some qualms with the way your videos are set up. Your opening sequence is 10 seconds of waiting no one needs. If there were something interesting going on I'd be all right with it, but it was five seconds of sound and your logo going up and then another five of nothing, it's not worth the waste. The other thing that really bothered me was the two straight minutes of talking about nothing. The video should have been about a minute and thirty seconds max, not almost six. Get to the point, and end it. it gives you more time for other stuff, it lets you upload faster, it gives us less of a headache when we're already having trouble with internet connection. Thanks again for the fix and I wish you the best.

had this issue for a while thought it was because i switched service providers but my windows 8.1 laptop was only device having issue. followed your directions (my driver was different but same process) before i updated it was limited just like you said after update immediately connected. ill be watching if it goes back to limited but for now...THANK YOU!!

I just did this, was having issues since earlier this week.. and some guides online was trying to describe how to do this but kinda failed, lol.. thank you so much on showing me in a video. I will report back if i am having the same issue still :)
A Pieraccini I think I finally fixed it... somehow on all my browsers (I only actually use Chrome..) .... AVG was "installed" as an addon. ((When i typed in "Limited Access Internet" into Google, it popped up that AVG has been blocking internet.. which I found weird because this machine isnt even a year old, and I never installed AVG..) I had to delete them from the extensions in my browsers (Chrome i went into settings, had to clear out the AVG search as one of the search engines..) I had to load up Internet explorer just to disable it as well.. thinking that was fixed, I tried roaming around some.. then the issue popped back up.. I went into my Default Programs > Programs and features and saw there was not one, but two installments of AVG, one was a toolbar thing, and cannot recall the second. I uninstalled them.. but it wouldn't delete the exe from my Program Files x86 > AVG named folder.. So I went in and deleted it, and it finally recognized it as fully uninstalled.. So far I haven't had any Limited Access issues.. but I dont want to jinx it xD I dont know if this issue happens on other OS, but just in case I am running windows :) This may not be your issue, but just in case.. here's to hoping we can figure it out :D

Less personal blah blah blah would be great. My laptop wouldnt even detect any connection at all but had shown 'limited' sometimes before. So after trying other solutions shared on other videos without results I tried doing this and it fixed my driver anyways. So if anyone has the same problem, this solution worked for me. Those patch nerds at Microsoft ought to stop thinking 'what we might need'. When 8.1 shoved its dick onto my harddrive (seriously, after 50+ "NO"s one afternoon it finally installed itself with no cancel option) every damn day it was update, update, update, restart, update to restart, restart to update. Turned off the option and... wow... I can use my computer again. Macs aren't any better now. Click on 2 things in less than 5 minutes then risk getting that spinning beach ball of death for an hour or two. We shouldn't have to put up with this. One can hard-wire a computer into the router and it'll still lose connectivity. -_-
I tried this along with 2 other things people recommended in another video and my wifi works now! I'm not sure which video is to thank so I am sending this thank you comment to both people. My wifi did not work until I restarted my computer. Just a side note for other people :)
Our cable company who we have our internet through told us to hook up another router and that router was faulty and now no device can connect to it. Before that hp service providers said it was our router hence why we called our internet provider. I added this to my watch later and when my dad gets back and hooks up the other router we will see if this works. And if it does you will have earned a sub and a favorite.
This video didn't solve the problem on my laptop. I'm using Windows 8. Here's how I remedied this issue and this is probably the simplest fix of them all. I hope it works out for others who might have this Limited connection status on their computers, so here it is. 1. Open Network and Sharing Center 2 .Select your Limited Wifi connection and click Diagnose. 3. Windows will start to process and you will now have "Connected" status afterwards. That's it. Up-vote for others who have found this information useful.

I may have spoken too soon. Updating the driver works, however, a few minutes later it goes to "limited" again. So I update it again, then it works again, but then right back into "limited". Any idea what is going wrong?
