I just got a Canonet 28 back from the repair shop where it got cleaned up, new light seals, and a viewfinder so clean it looks BRAND NEW. I had to see what the process the camera repair MASTER used to get it so clean - had no idea how intricate the rangefinder system was. Great video!

Thanks for the video. I just got me a 28 (don´t know the year) and apparently the inner glass has stains right on the side you said not to touch. So, I won´t. If it is blotted, what is recommended? Replacing? Cheers from Brazil.

I usually use a product that is used to clean screens, I think it is made with isopropyl alcohol.
@@photographyandmore Thanks for that. I actually used a similar product. I have another question: I removed the bottom cover and a small U-shape spring fell out. I think it’s for the battery cover but I’m not sure... can you advise?
@@JonLloyd65 I have never removed the bottom cover of this camera, maybe I can make a video soon by removing the bottom cover.
thank you for this video! my canonet 28 seems to have a stiff rangefinder/viewfinder focusing. could you please make a video about fixing this issue? I think the mechanics of the rangefinder have gummed up or something, do you have any idea how to fix this? It focuses, but I have to rotate the focusing rings 3-4 times in order for it to start slowly moving :/
