    I started the trade with a pair of Knipex. After I ruined the blades, I went with Klein. Still using the Kleins. Both companies make great tools.

    I have the knipex insulated linesman pliers I think they feel better than the ones you reviewed. You can also use the curved back end to pull fish-tape for wire pulling. In terms of performance the knipex was just amazing. I recently had a open ground on the receptacle it turned out the ground wire twist was not tight enough. It literally took one or two turns to fix the loose twist in the ground wires and the twist using the knipex was tight and flawless. Really amazing. For cutting I would still use knipex curved pliers that cut around the wire as you push down on the handles avoiding compression cuts which can reduce conductor surface area at wire ends.

      Math Man I have to agree with you at least what I’ve experienced using their linesman pliers. Knipex makes great tools 🛠.

    The knipex to me gave a smoother cut but both are good pliers. I have insulated wihas and they work good for me and what they are. They came in a pouch with long nose pliers, dikes, and screwdrivers (all insulated). I like them.

    Love the knipex lineman’s. The head on the wiha is way too large, it throws off the balance. Thanks for the review!

    As soon as the video started and before you begin to say your opinion, only by looking at them, I said. "I would pull out the handles from the Wiha, put them on Knipex and keep the Knipex for use!" I mean, that's obvious! Great comparison-Review sir, have a good day!

      @@TheElectriciansToolChannel I should have done that. Thanks for reminding me,that I didn't. If I were you, I would try to do what I said! If the handles fit and since you probably are a pro Electrician and you would enjoy using such a great pro tool, I would swap the handles if I was in your place.. All you need is some hot water, a little patience to dry after you pull them out and then some glue. Knipah or Wipex would be a nice name, for the new tool! I wish you the best sir!

    Whia quality , and metallurgy is OK , but can be hit or miss . Generally , I tend towards Knipex . The one thing of Whia’s that I like are their Slimline multibit VDE rated screwdriver , voltage rated terminal , multi bit , and Stubbies, can get you out of a lot of jams .

      The Electricians Tool Channel I have some wiha driver bit sets. They are OK. But My friend told me that Wiha pliers are not that durable also not Made in Germany

    • @TheElectriciansToolChannel
      @TheElectriciansToolChannel  3 года назад +1

      Your buddy has a right to his opinion, but remember that’s HIS OPINION . I had buddies tell me that once that this certain brand of screwdrivers aren’t good because they don’t grip the screws properly. Then I found out that my buddy was using his screwdriver as a chisel damaging the tip. So what I’m saying try it out yourself you might have a different opinion 💪🤔👍🏿😊🤙

    Maybe the insulated version of the knipex would be softer for you. I have the 13 88 8 and it's a versatile beast. The wire cutter is almost too good thanks to that arc shape.

    • @TheElectriciansToolChannel
      @TheElectriciansToolChannel  4 года назад +1

      Man there’s truth to what you’ve said, even though the grips are not as soft or comfortable compared to some other brands. Knipex is still a very high quality tool. One of the BEST tool manufacturers out there, that’s just my opinion.

  • @ardnira

    I think like this. If I'm purely an electrician, I should have both rather than choose one. both have new England head models. But if I work with cables with copper cross sections above 4mm, I will choose Wiha. Working under a 4mm cable cross section I will use Knipex. I think with a head wiha bigger and taller than Knipex like you said, it would be very convenient to twist and pull cables above 4mm using Wiha (in my cable work environment, I don't know about other people's cable work environments). For EDC electrician, I'll make sure Knipex is in my hands. Btw nice video brother ...

    • @TheElectriciansToolChannel
      @TheElectriciansToolChannel  4 года назад

      Well said Arinda, well said, you’ve made a great point. The New England design would be great for such environment, but overall they’re both magnificent tools. But for my line of work Commercial, Residential and some industrial electrical Knipex would be my first choice. Thanks for your compliment and comments hang around there’s more to come.

    Do you still schlep an Analog Meter , I like them for shooting for grounds on things like Fire Alarms , the one I use a lot is a Tripplet 310 C .

    • @TheElectriciansToolChannel
      @TheElectriciansToolChannel  3 года назад

      I’m sure I can find some use for an analog multimeter, but I don’t own any and at this point I wouldn’t purchase any. It’s old technology and if needed I could use the the analog bar graph on my Fluke 87v or any of my other multimeters with a bar graph 📈. That’s just my opinion 👍🏿

    Great video.
    Knipex pliers and wiha screw drivers are all I carry these days.
    I think it should be noted that non of wiha pliers are manufactured Germany. The only tools manufactured in Germany by Wiha are their screwdrivers. Wiha pliers are manufactured in Vietnam.
    Granted the steel for all Wiha does come from Germany. but the quality of hardening the steel in Vietnam is completely different than the process they use in Germany. This can be seen when comparing wiha bits made in Germany vs their bits made in Vietnam.

      Welcome Ghost 23 to the channel, I figured that out already, Knipex makes very good tools. But the grips for example on their linesman pliers even when you purchase them new the grips aren’t that soft. So it’s only going to get harder as the tool gets older. I had a viewer tell me that the Knipex grips on their tools gets softer as it gets older. That’s very hard to believe.

      @@TheElectriciansToolChannel i love everything in the case. The only thing is that i so far don’t have any use for the smaller screwdrivers and the star screwdrivers. Tools are gorgeous and I’m afraid to even scratch the darn things. Everyone at work uses klein and the case stands out of the rest.. reason i got it is that everyone uses klein and things go missing... having a unique brand helps deter people from taking it lol i wild find it who it was right away since they don’t sell these anywhere near here

    • @TheElectriciansToolChannel
      @TheElectriciansToolChannel  4 года назад +1

      That depends on who you ask. With each having their pros and cons they’re some features I like on the KNIPEX that the WIHA doesn’t have and likewise with the WIHA. Overall my decision is down the middle. Take care sir, and since your here checkout my other 170 videos I have posted on RUclips you might find another one interesting. Thanks 🙏
