Cryptocurrency is a digital payment system that doesn't rely on banks to verify transactions. It’s a peer-to-peer system that can enable anyone anywhere to send and receive payments. Instead of being physical money carried around and exchanged in the real world, cryptocurrency payments exist purely as digital entries to an online database describing specific transactions.
This is a talk I gave at the CatholicCryptoConference in 2022.

great explanation of what cryptocurrency is and how it works, like your YT channel name: simply explained. Great video especially for beginners!
Great explanation. Thanks.
Great guy with great work. Thanks man.
one thing still blurry is why would anyone want to exchange dollars for the virtual reward for building one block of some blockchain (lets say 50btc)?
One doubt - Why is the person sending the currency only digitally signing the transaction ? Shouldn't the person receiving the currency also sign it thereby acknowledging that the receiver has received the currency?
Valid concern. I guess Satoshi has foucuced on Peer to Peer transaction, however, he has solved the SENDING problem (AKA double sending problem) and has assumed the recivieng Peer is satisfied with this transaction. Obviously, some work is needed for Crypto completion.
22:45 - Doge and Polygon are layer 1, not erc20 tokens on Ethereum.
