I feel like SM was rushed to come a year early to get it out for Pokemon 20, so alot of the game's planned features were removed, such as a post game. USUM was the more completed edition, and will have all of the features SM planned.

Agreed, nothing so far has made this a must buy. The only reason why I am considering getting it was because the original Sun and moon story was so good I want to play it again but not erase my data. This looks almost the exact same just with 2 more crappy ultrabeasts and fractionally different looking Main characters. Otherwise it looks like it's almost the exact same thing just with a necrozma part added.
Give us more alolan forms dammit! Give us a changed story, Gyms and Trials?

You were driving in the right neighborhood. Necrozma absorbs one of either legendary and then either of those forms turn into a megazord via the use of a z - crystal known as ultranecronium z. It's called Ultra Necrozma.
Even thought Necrozma doesn't absorb the other legendary to achieve that form, it's design suggests that it was intended for that.

Gustavo Villafana I think it is a retelling. There is even a direct cutscene taken from Sun/Moon (the player, Hau, and Lusamine standing before the portal in the Paradise) but the player now has the USUM outfit.

I really hope the Ultra Beasts make a dramatic impact to the story. Was extremely disappointed that they were only accessable post-game and there weren't any cutscences of them destroying the land. They're supposed to be destructive. Was hoping to see people flee in terror in the games lol
Jose Mendez I agree. The ultra beasts did make some things more interesting in the OG Sun and Moon (Lusamine in the Ultra Beast world), but to be actually able to interact with them directly during the story would have made things much better.

Pokemon was becoming dramatic and dynamic. Then they toned it down A LOT (which was very unnecessary) in Pokemon X&Y and they seemed to have done it again in Sun & Moon. GameFreak needs to realize there's a large mature/adult fanbase just as big as kids

Black White gets surprisingly dark and mature, and they also did something somewhere similar in Sun Moon (lusamine I mean Jesus am I playing Pokemon?). Sad that they didn't put it further.

This is my all time favorite Pokémon game and 3ds game. I have so many great memories of this game and have the most hours in it from all my other 3ds games. I also played Pokémon moon before this but I remember liking this one more, and since I picked ultra sun I got to experience the other version exclusives + solgaleo. Honestly doesn’t deserve hate. It’s better than the og sun and moon by far and has better story and lots of fun additions. While it may have been an underwhelming sequel (if you can even call it that) it was definitely a good Pokémon game.

I really REALLY hope this will be a follow up to the story of Pokémon sun and moon, maybe a few years later. That would be amazing. Loved Pokémon sun and I hope this will be just as awesome!
Sorry, but it is merely an alternate story of Pokemon Sun and Moon, not a follow-up or sequel.
I'm just saying after this game, there's no excuse for Sinnoh remakes.
It's pretty much what happened with Platinum, but yeah...no excuse for remaking one of the greater regions imo. I'm not a genwunner, I like all of the Pokémon games...but Sinnoh is what got me stuck to the series.
And don't even start on the Eterna City theme. Goddammit.

I am excited but a little worried, we've seen some images/screenshots of the same things happening (in this case the scene with the main trainer, Haua & Lusamine watching the worm hole open) but also loads of new things such as the hole Pikachu sanctuary, which is very good, I'm just hoping that it's not a re-telling of sun & moon (which I'm pretty confident it won't be) (also praying pokemon can follow you)
I'm real,y scared tbh, if they keep the story a secret then we find out there has just been a few tweaks here and there, I will give up on the series as it is getting a bit dry. Show new game, a few new features and pokemon. I want a game changer. Like changi the battle format

I like to believe that Necrozma was a benevolent Ultra Beast commander who was betrayed by its second-in-command and left for dead after losing to Solgaleo and Lunala in a battle.
I think it's a kyurem thing, like necrozma was once whole, i.e. fused with solgaleo/lunaala, but was separated somehow.
