Because he is my wife's favorite artist, I have been dragged to many of his live concerts over the years and I can tell you he is a monster live act. He can sound great on almost any system and really plays and sings great.
Cool!
I’ve never given him a second thought. Thanks for the introduction.
No problem!
He’s definitely got it. Like you said I saw him playing with John M. and it kind of opened my eyes to how well rounded this dude is! Thanks again Fil.
No problem!
IT'S A SECRET Us COUNTRY FANS Have KNOWN FOREVER .HE Can SHRED
Yep.
👍
@Ann B AND HOT TOO !!!
He's what you would call, "A Total Package"!
😂
Always liked Keith,a country music hit factory.Your right about his tone it's always awesome.Very underrated player, and a great voice.Really like him and Brad Paisley as far as country music guitarists, even though their both totally different styles.
👍
you should do some Brad Paisley Videos
I remember going to see Jewel as she's one of my favs. Brad Paisey was the opening act & I was pleasantly surprised. Brad & Keith are both great!
I think Keith Urban is a very underrated guitarist. My ex and myself had front row seats to one of his concerts. He puts on one hell of a show.
Cool!
Agree. I saw him at a free concert he did for a RE/MAX conference I attended a few years ago. First time I realized what a rockin' guitarist he is.
He's a great player and a all round great person! Thanks!
👍
Agreed!!!
Keith and Brad!
The best pop country guitarists!!! Both killer!
Rock!
👍
I waited to watch this video because I will be seeing him tonight. I've seen him several times and he's my favorite singer, a dynamic live performer, and even had the privilege of getting pulled on stage to sing. He does not disappoint.
Being able to see Keith live was an awesome experience! He can definitely play the hell out of that guitar! I find his unique style of playing really difficult to replicate!
Cool!
Thanks Fil! Wonderful commentary. I appreciate that you showcase great guitarists from all genres. Keep up the good work! Rock!🤘🏼
Thanks!
Would love to see an acoustic Keith Urban video. He actually grew up here in Aust, in Queensland and often plays at Tamworth Country Music Festival . He was great on The Voice here too and very kind.
One of my favorite videos of Keith Urban is his very early performance in Australia with Slim Dusty performing "Lights On The Hill". Of course my preference is in traditional country music.
Keith Urban is sooo 🔥! He's handsome & total control of his vocals & guitar. Plus great song writer. Total package!
Great guitarist! Have seen Keith on a couple of occasions he is really amazing puts his heart and soul into his guitar playing and his voice is awesome!! Brilliant analysis Fil !!😀👌🤘🤘🤘
Cool!
Great Aussie country music star, he has won many Golden Guitar Awards at the Tamworth Country Music Awards in Australia, when he started back in the 1980's and 1990's he used to busk at the Tamworth Country Music Festival when he was a young bloke ;-)
👍
I love Keith's playing and singing. He has a very wide range. New Year' Eve 2017 he did an amazing tribute to the musicians who had passed. He sang a song from each one's best.
👍
Keith is such a multi-talented guy.
👍
A genius Keith urban in music
Phenomenal songwriter, singer, musician and person. And Lord, he's gorgeous. The complete package ❤️
😂
Thanks, again, Fil! I had no idea about Keith Urban.... now I do.
No problem!
Keith was a judge on American idol. He was very helpful to performers, critical critique opposed to just being mean. Super nice guy.
Very impressive. Plays many instruments. Watch him play banjo in I Wanna Love Somebody. A few years ago, there was a to do at the Grammy's. He was asked to step in and play. Without practicing, he listened to it and was ready to go!
that is so weird. I'm an Uber driver and picked up a passengers last night from a Keith Urban concert and he said he only went cause Keith Urban can shred.
😂👍
Watching him play is mesmerizing! I wasn't a true fan until I watched him at a concert years ago with a friend. I could just watch him play for hours.
You should check out his and John Mayer doing the Beatles' "Don't Let Me Down" It's honestly a really amazing version!
Thanks!
Great video Fil. This is awesome! I really like Keith Urban.
I see 28k subscribers - the last time I noticed you were at 27k. Congratulations! I suspect there will be a time when I will tell folks I knew Fil back in the day when it was small and he was able to read and comment back! 😁
Haha thanks! I'm just about keeping up so far! 😅
He’s such a talented musician! LOL, as others have mentioned, you’ve gotta see the video where he brings a guy from the audience on stage, gives him his guitar and they perform one of his songs? The guy killed it!! Proving Keith is also a pretty cool dude. 😎🤙🏻
Yeah!
Look at Keith’s version of To Love Somebody from the Grammy Salute to The Bee Gees, he put a guitar solo in it, he killed it! Best performance of the night
Keith Urban to love Sambody.Wanderful
Please check out John Mayer and Keith Urban playing together!
Yeah I've seen some vids 👍
I was at that concert where they both played live together at the Crossroads festival. That show literally changed my life with the type of music I listen to now
😎😎 totally on fire, I believe he can play any genre he likes, but country has been very good to him😎😎
👍
Big fan of Keith great guitar player. A lot of the younger country artist like Keith and Brad are super guitar players.
I saw Keith in Phoenix for NCAA Tournament free concert. He was better than lead guitarist from previous bands. How can one person have this much talent?
👍
Keith Urban and Brad Paisley are 2 guys that have some serious guitar mojo. And they’re both country musicians. I don’t follow country too much, but these guys can shred as well as anyone.
👍
Vince Gill is an amazing guitarist too!
Kieth's earlier work with "The Ranch" was simply amazing, that's when I first noticed his great playing. I knew it was only a matter of time before he became a household word! 😁
👍
Always liked him!
Cool!
...only started listening to Keith Urban over the last few years. Hope ya got a chance to watch 'Good Thing' where he invites some guy from the audience, Rob Joyce, to come-up and play. Either staged or not, its a great performance of the song.
👍
Keith is my favorite guitarist ever. It used to be Billy Gibbons, but when I found out about Keith, with this song actually, I was hooked and have been ever since. His skills are amazing, but the passion he puts into it seals the deal for me.
Don’t you just love melodic playing? So many players sound like scales players. (Objective) missing out on the opportunity to hit emotion. I believe the guitar when played, is what feelings sound like! To me, this guy does just that! (Subjective) great video, again. In fact they’re all brilliant, thanks Phil!
No problem!
Keith is so underrated
Damn missed live again! 🤘🏼All feeling.. Keith does it well 💯☮️
👍
you should react to Keith’s The Devil Went Down To Nashville. One of his best guitar performances ever
I've always heard the story that before Keith Urban became big star Keith Urban, he was a first-call studio player in Nashville. Any first-call player in Nashville is going to have chops. Urban has mad technique, touch and feel.
👍
Love how the guitar is like an extension of his body!
Keith has the chops for sure, but I think he's one of the better melodic players out there. He reminds me of Eric Johnson, if you can believe that. The way he controls of the dynamics of the song. His phrasing. Keith's the real deal. I wish I liked that style of country music better.
👍
Love the song, glad you featured it. I've got 2 "Keith Urban" acoustic guitars but I don't sound good as him on acoustic or electric either. Haha
No problem!
always enjoy Fil, keep it up.
Thanks!
Oh my gosh you really need to see Keith play Devil Went Down to Nashville!!!
That man is extremely talented. 🎵🎸 But gawd, he's sooooo gorgeous! 💋♥️🎶 Love the clips w him and John Mayer.
😂
FIL Your FULL OF SURPRISES. GREAT JOB
Thanks!
What amazes me about Keith Urban, is his ability to still be playing lead and singing at the same time- John Fogerty did this well also- I have to go back to rhythm when I’m singing.
Oh to have your music and specifically guitar. Great reaction brother.
Brilliant analysis of my favourite artist, Keith Urban! It's nice to hear from someone who really appreciates Keith's playing and singing.
Smile every time he's on the radio, but the rest was me unknown. Beautiful. Thanks!
No problem!
Great reaction to Keith Urban he is very talented. Could you please react to Keith and Pink "One Too Many"
One of my favorite solos, wish he did more guitar dominated songs
Yeah!
Ace from Kiss did that back in the 70s with the pickup selector switch. It was a kill switch for him because his neck pickup was actually a smoke bomb ,rocket launcher, or some other incindiary device. Let me go rock and roll from kiss alive was a well done rock guitar solo.
LOVE Keith Urban! Not sure about Aus. TV, but he did a couple year stint as an American Idol judge.
Cool!
Cool offering. The Missus has been a Keith Urban fan for over 10 years. I'd read about him in GP and GW around then. Better Life was a fave of mine (didn't work here). Great player. maybe you noticed that '52 type LP. Neck reset? Sounded great.
Yeah!
YESSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He listened to my comment!!!!!!!!!! I can’t believe it. Thank you Fil, the video rocks!!!!!!
No problem!
A lot of Country & (Western) music today sounds a lot like what was called, in my youth, country rock. Groups like Lynyrd Skynyrd and The Eagles have influenced today's C&W music, I think quite a bit, at least to my ears.
👍
Kieth played with Greg ulman, Jo Walsh and Lynyrd Skynyred . You can find it in the U tube
The lead part was perfect for the song, something shredders forget at times (in IMHO)
👍
That Kiwi rocks that Gold Top.... I love his style🤟🏻Happy Birthday Keith!
👍
Not to mention at 6:08 the very impressive forehead wipe/up strum combination.
* Hi , Fil :) Keith Urban ..... Apart He's A Cute "Country Boy " And His Married With " Nicole Kidman " His Performance Alive Was Greatest !!!!
° Thank U + ROCK !!!! X3
Hurray i just put in Keith Urban just to see if Phil B.guitarist reacts and ya did one on good ole Keith Urban!!! Great Thanx
No problem!
He, Brad Paisley and Lindsay Ell are 3 of few who can shred + sing in country.
A bit more on KU. Being from Down Under, he said that AC/DC and Split Enz influenced his music.
Can you analyze a Mayer-Urban collaboration? I liked a Mayer comment that Keith will often choose to “sing” when he could have chosen to “shred”-something he wanted to do more
Very cool! I Thanks a lot for this one. I'm going up the country right now :)
No problem!
I think you would like Junior Brown. He plays a guit steel guitar. Now to Keith. He's a beast!!
that was a week ago .
I should have known! Thanx!!
No prob :)
Yeah he's here!
You know some women say Keith is the total package . You know If I had a choice of any musician to slow dance with to his song "Blue" it would be you Fil. I think if you sang & played "Blue" , people would listen to you instead of Keith and that's the truth! There are so many songs Fil you would be perfect for and I think you are a ROCK STAR!🎸 already😍😚❤
Thanks!
I've always thought he was a great guitarist. Very underrated.
I really enjoyed this analyses. I'm a big Keith Urban fan becuz of his playing. I'm also a big John Mayer fan for the same reason, so curious, have you seen the concert they did together? If not I think you might. Search for "CMT Crossroads - Keith Urban & John Mayer". Pretty awesome!
🤘 ROCK.❗❗❗
🤘
...The song "Stupid Boy" came and went really fast from the charts, yet is my favorite song of his..........I'm glad the British are liking our Nashville sound.....
👍
I remember him from his Clutterbilly days, he's always been amazing!
Fil, you have got to see this video.... Rob Joyce Plays Guitar For Keith Urban on "Good Thing" This kid came up cold from audience and killed it with the guitar.
Thanks!
The tape quality was cutting in and out bummer...Keith.urban is an excellent guitarist...
👍
I don't think that was anything more than stage volume pummeling somones cell phone, in a good way ;)
🎸🎼🤘great video 🤘
cooooool style 🤘 style cooooool
Thanks!
Good evening Fil. Got to tell ya. Not a big fan But he does play a lot better than I thought. Some clean lines he is playing. Nicely done
👍
🤘
🤘
U really explained the guitar parts nicely. Lots of technical stuff. Nice Fil!
☺
Look up Keith playing live with the John Butler Trio. Fantastic.
Thanks!
just a kickass player he is!
Live recording! Wow.
Hey Fil, check out Molly Tuttle and Billy Strings. You will be impressed. Bryan Sutton, Frank Vignola, and Joscho Stephan, too, haha.
Thanks!
Darrell Scott.. River Take Me... it’ll blow your mind
Thanks!
Great video. I agree Keith is a great player. A suggestion for you , Mark Knopfler Speedway to Nazareth the live version.
Thanks!
He played on there as a contest
I haven’t really listened to Keith’s music much at all....my best friend is a huge fan so I listened to a couple songs.… for her but I prefer classic country like Glen Campbell who I will always adore!……❤️…… have loved all vids of him you posted! Keith’s playing is very impressive I will say!! I just haven’t heard enough to form much of an opinion yet……thanks Fine Fil!!……☮️❤️🎸🤘
No problem!
I know this is an old posting...wish you would review Keith and John Meyer from CMT Crossroads.
He can play the heck out of the guitar just not my type of country. He played with/has open for him Larkin Poe who I
just LOVE!!!! great sister duo.
Yep!
Nice job kieth! I’m a stupid boy too even though I’m well over 60
😂👍
Thanks again for educating me. I always thought he was just a pretty boy, but he can play.
No problem!
Great analysis...is marty friedman getting close on the list?
Yeah he is!
This was great, I would like to see Keith perform some rock, just saying he's got some cross over vibes going on! Thanks for sharing, Fil
Kathy Prior his stuff with The Ranch had much more of a rock vibe (in terms of playing) than anything he’s done since. Some of my favorites of his are from those days.
Yeah!
Check this out, Kathy! Keith Urban playing the Stones' Tumbling Dice! ruclips.net/video/DuVohJ3xlgc/видео.html
Mick Jagger was so impressed with his performance that he asked him to join him on stage to play 'Respectable'.ruclips.net/video/--0mxgq2kFM/видео.html
watch Devil went down to Nashville 😊
Love your channel, a suggestion, I don’t know if you’ve done a video on him ,one of my favorites that is an absolutely the best Telecaster player I’ve ever seen ...Brad Paisley. Thanks for all your great work
Not yet but I'll get there!
Quick fact...he started playing guitar because of David Cassidy on the tv show, The Partridge...if you watch him closely, you'll see movements & mannerisms that are def from David lol
I swear I wrote The Partridge Family...don't know where Family went . It's RUclips...that's my story & I'm sticking to it! 😜🤣
Have you done commentary on Congo Square with Derek Trucks, Sonny Landreth and Clapton on base? I feel it is epic. Would love your commentary.
Not yet!
Fil: I know this is an old one but I had to come and watch a Fil video. LOL
