Couple of favorite lines although I love them all; "and when you feel like running for the back door, don't, just you wait until the morning when you wake up with me at your side & find I didnt lie bout nothin, and i wouldnt trade a tree for the way i feel about about ya anyhow I love you. Chills, just like "my name was on the case". One of my favorite artists of all time. Got to meet my hero one time sat alone with him for a short time and a couple of questions but mostly precious silence out of respect. I actually felt like him myself and that old guitar that would never stay in tune were all three alone in that dark and empty room lit up my soul that night. Wouldn't trade it for a tree !!! Ohh, chills all over ! Cheers all fellow Mr. Guy Clark fans. Oh and btw haven't seen it yet want to but.... Probably been better in his house if he didn't care I damn sure wouldn't, like the man said "I'm just Guy Clark"

I love that Guy said he wasn't a country singer. He didn't need or want the label. It makes me think of an artist I truly love who won Artist of the Year at the Americana Music Awards. When presented with the award, he chose to inform them that he wasn't an Americana artist, he was a country artist.
Guy did it right. Take the praise and let everyone else decide for themselves.

@@zelmo999 I can see how Covid delayed the SXSW premier but how did Covid affect the public world-wide distribution? There hasn't been "slowed distribution" there's been no general public distribution whatsoever. Covid isn't the reason for that. The doc has been completed for a few years now. And it's a digital world. The reason is financial. Tamara is holding out for a better deal than she's been offered so far. But she shouldn't hold out too long b/c Guy's hardcore fans aren't getting any younger and it'd be an awful shame if they don't get to see this.

Would you consider doing a doc on Marty Robbins? How do you cover one of the all-time greatest singer-songwriters, NASCAR driver, Navy WW2 veteran, author, actor, TV show host, DJ. Just talking about how Marty saved a guy's life in a NASCAR race would take a whole documentary. Also, Marty's love for his wife Marizona, and love for his two children, Ronnie and Janet.

I love Guy and his songwriting... I also don't think its fair to compare two friends and say one is a better songwriter than the other. Guy wrote songs about his life and the world he knew. Townes wrote songs that were somewhere in between life and death. Townes spoke to the ether. It's something very different, even though they go together really well.

If you go to the movies how much do you generally spend? I know the cost of a ticket is around $10. Once you add the price of popcorn and drink to that it's around $20. I imagine if Tamara could lower the cost she would. I suspect the reason it's $20 is so she and her husband can help to recoup what it cost to make the movie. The reason it's not out on DVD or streaming platforms is because the cost of doing so is too exorbitant.
