Steve Earle says it all, the film turned out as good as it possibly could be. It is a film for all involved to be proud of - and for the rest of us to watch repeatedly!
@Steve Earle Never thought Id get a chance to tell one of the people I hold in VERY high regard thank you!!!! Youre music & few other legends has been one & only constant in my life.I dont wanna know what lifes like without GOOD music.Thank you! @@danielstephens9748 I'm one of those who can change lyrics of any song to suit myself, by the end noone very rarely knows what I'm singing. Especially as its done extremely out of tune 😆
So many of the videos listed on the side here also look very interesting - lots of Steve Earle interviews (both giving and receiving), and then one called "John Prine - Poker Night With Townes Van Zandt and Guy Clark." And then I realized that all three of them are gone. (Fortunately, I'm pretty sure Steve Earle is still with us, though I didn't actually double check. Maybe I should.) I haven't seen the Guy Clark movie yet.
I'm a classically trained painter and sculptor. I attended the New York Academy of Art MFA program, founded by Warhol, who wished he had traditional training. I can say Warhol was a fraud. Utter rubish did he produce, and he knew it.
Hey, Tamara, your need to hold Guy over Townes led you astray in the film. Why, you preferred to show Townes trying to perform at his most ill, tragic time in his life. Guess you must have thought that suppoeted your being solidly in Guy's camp as to who was the better sonfgwriter. You think you can compare a lit candle with one being showered with liquid poison. Did you get the idea from the vultures who fed Townes booze and drugs and pushed him on stage when he was most ill? Bad idea, Tamara. Those paying attention just might find it a little dirty. I do.
Great stuff Steve. Everyone loves you.

ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-wee
Fantastic interview and thanks to both of you for your books and movie.
The lyrics where Guy sings "Oh Suzanna don't you cry babe, our loves handmade, touches me every single time.
not quite...'loves a gift that's surely handmade'...but I know what you mean...it's my favorite song all time!
