Without Getting Killed or Caught is the true story of Guy Clark, the dean of Texas songwriters, who struggles to write poetic, yet indelible songs while balancing a complicated marriage with wife Susanna, and a deep friendship with singer-songwriter Townes Van Zandt, on whom Susanna forged a passionate dependence. I'm one of those who can change lyrics of any song to suit myself, by the end noone very rarely knows what I'm singing.
Especially as its done extremely out of tune 😆

This interview is really awesome
So many of the videos listed on the side here also look very interesting - lots of Steve Earle interviews (both giving and receiving), and then one called "John Prine - Poker Night With Townes Van Zandt and Guy Clark." And then I realized that all three of them are gone. (Fortunately, I'm pretty sure Steve Earle is still with us, though I didn't actually double check. Maybe I should.)
I haven't seen the Guy Clark movie yet.

Hey, Tamara, your need to hold Guy over Townes led you astray in the film. Why, you preferred to show Townes trying to perform at his most ill, tragic time in his life. Guess you must have thought that suppoeted your being solidly in Guy's camp as to who was the better sonfgwriter. You think you can compare a lit candle with one being showered with liquid poison. Did you get the idea from the vultures who fed Townes booze and drugs and pushed him on stage when he was most ill? Bad idea, Tamara. Those paying attention just might find it a little dirty. I do.
