I’m amazed this style of modern forehand. The timing of that massive wrist snap is crazy. The results are interesting. Watching him here it looks amazing so much spin and control over the shot. More net clearance than I see from a lot of other top players which means more spin and a safer more consistent shot. Buuut a forehand that requires such perfect timing also can tend to breakdown under pressure. It does look beautiful tho!
Admirable strokes 🤩
Can learn a lot from this video
wow I did not realize how good his groundstrokes are . I was happy when he and Nick won the Aussie doubles.
Really nice watching proper practice session. In a normal recreational day to day tennis...most of us just jump into playing loll due to limited timeslot for play or impatience.
What a stud
Au cœur de l'instant présent 🤩
Love the special k's
Wow. Thanks.
Yes super clean
FH so smooth.
Superb backhand but seems like he hits his forehand at the very last second with a snap of the wrist. This is a first time I have watched Thanasi. He is definitely a very challenging player to deal with on hardcourt.
Thanasi Kokkinakis..the biggest Kokk on the tour. 🤗
I wanna see him face off with Isner. That would be epic
Everyone looks good in practice...
Because they are
Slice it up more!
????? 😅
his forehand set up feels like it'll be prone to breakdown against players who can hit hard flat shots
yeah agreed. It's quite slow to rip
Way too long of backswing. He gets caught late against big hitters. See some of his wimbledon matches this year
Like Rune? I agree. Holger Rune would destroy him.
@@leftyspinn yeah agreed so on faster courts he would struggle. When he has time though he rips it
Quite a long prep
what racquet does he use?
I had heard he changed to Yonex, but that doesn't look like a Yonex to me. His forehand reminds me of Kyrgios'. Great hitting.
he changed from yonex, using a pure aero it seems
Boring. Robotic. Same as every other player. Baseline only. Artificial echo from indoor.
@@TimTheMusicMan bruh that's just baseline practice lol
I like the backhand
Didn't roddick hit a next gen forehand in the 90s?
Great hitting with that blacked out Babolat raquet.
which racquet is it
@@arisroland1371 looks like his old aeropro drive
@@arisroland1371 looks like an AeroPro Drive
@@MarcusNestor he is hitting with yonex
@@jasonkr3645 No. If you look close it’s obviously not the shape of a Yonex racquet.
Thannasi Vomitnnakis
He’s like Jack Sock. He can rip the cover off the ball on the forehand but can’t back it up with other strokes
I love how the majority of guys trying to critique the quality of one of the best forehands in the world are.....
NTRP 3.5 or eqv.
Please give me a me a lesson. My life long goal is to be a god at the local YMCA as well.
Not sure why but his backhand has always looked slightly off to me and it gets picked on in matches since it is not as much of a weapon as the FH
He uses very little trunk rotation and hits a bit "late." He got some strong hands to shovel it
Why does he have snow on his head?
Adelaide is pretty cold🤷♂
he just want to make himself look old so that it seems reasonable for kyrgios to do more work in their doubles match
How is he not top 10
Has the talent to, but so do about 20 people lol. Injuries have slowed his climb but could become almost anything.
Whenever I hit against my table tennis robot, I don't feel like I'm improving. Drills like this isn't improving anything. They should be drilling serve and volley or play practice matches. Just sitting back and hitting the ball isn't going to help you in a match when your opponent isn't cooperating.
Identical to Kyrgios forehand.
definitely has a powerful stroke. Might not be a bad idea to find a new hairdresser though
If you compare his FH with the top players like sinner, alcaraz etc, Thanasi over rotates during his FH, not as efficient
MOST INJURED PLAYER
Very busy strokes. Who is hitting with him? Would rather have those simpler strokes
Jason kubler
"clean strokes"? particularly the forehand....there is a reason he is often injured.
Unnecessary arm movement?
