Being honest, after seeing the mega live footage I’m glad I didn’t wait for it to come out and went with a stand-alone garmin setup. Livescope looks way better.
Thank you for the demonstration 👏🏻✊🏻🙏🏻👍🏻🎣🎣 Most people never show a real fish catch, rather just a video of them holding a fish at first saying they caught it on a certain jerkbait, then constantly casting around without any success and they suggest you the bait the whole video lmao 🤣 When they can’t even catch one on it. Not this pro fisherman, he knows exactly what he is doing, catching one ☝️ after another, as my brother would say, my man 😎👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🍺🍺🎣🎣🎣💪🏻
I also installed Mega 360 and Mega Live on Solix, but there is one problem. Before Mega Live installation, Mega 360 worked normally, but after Mega Live installation, Mega 360 does not operate normally. The problem is that when you put the Mega 360 into the water for the first time, it works, but when you take it out of the water and put it back into the water, the Mega 360 only recognizes that it is out of water and does not work. Is there any problem with using Mega 360 and Mega Live at the same time in Solix, which you love?
I love this. But don’t you think it’s a con to put the transducer on the trolling motor. Because if you’re spot locked and your motor is turning or not pointing in the direction you want to scan, you’re kinda screwed. No?
We agree that it's a constraint, but it's currently how all the forward-facing sonar technologies are operated. The transducer needs to be pointed in the direction you want to see, and the easiest and fastest way to accomplish this is with the transducer mounted to the trolling motor shaft. Some crappie anglers operate their forward-facing sonar on independent mounting arms, but that's another mechanism, and too slow for how many bass anglers operate. It's a relatively new technology, and there are bound to be many advancements going fwd. Thanks for dropping the note.
So if you find a good spot with 360 and scan it with live but don’t see fish…do you still fish it or do you leave to go find other spots that you can see have fish on them? Or because those fish could be right on the bottom and hard to see on the live do you throw the bait a few times to see if you can raise any fish to see on the live?
Hi KeHi Ken, more often than not, experienced bass anglers will fish it for the reason you mention -- the fish can be bottom-oriented. It's often the case where bass are hugging structure or cover and not visually separated from it on live sonar. If it looks good, it's best practice to get a bait out there. It's often the case where the bait will draw the bass up and off of the bottom.
How do you get the narrow downscan and wide map pane width on your Solix? I thought that was only adjustable on Helix? Is that a new software update or newer model?
Hi Donald, the newest SOLIX software provides some new "splits" presets. It's added in software version 4.020. www.humminbird.com/support/software-updates/SOLIX-G3-Series-v-4-020?_ga=2.160436276.883829017.1636644602-1879552724.1633628011&_gac=1.220609770.1635440630.Cj0KCQjwlOmLBhCHARIsAGiJg7n4K11POeY83UnuSohXMlAa3ow1jdqvf2XA7s2l-mEiefPA6NC6fUIaAtT1EALw_wcB
Man I still don't know how I feel about this Livescope videogame fishing. I think it takes away a lot of skill/knowledge anglers used to have to rely on. Not good for the sport IMO.
How so? You can't use it while running and it doesn't show a huge swatch of water. Still have to find them, and still have to get them to bite. The only difference is you know much faster whether the water your fishing is barren or not.
@@N2theBlue1 Bingo, fish live in 10% of the water. Even with all today's electronics. If you're serious, you spend time idling as much as you fish. Still need to predict pattern.

Appreciate it. It was fun filming this and experiencing Brandon pulling all of this technology together and applying it in a commonsense manner.

What a location. It's so beautiful.
Yeah, we were blown away by the raw beauty of northern Idaho.
🔥 bassfishing is now probably one of my favourite species too fish I have been learning a couple tricks from your videos!

Is he running a solix 12 or 15 for his Mega live? Pretty impressive he has his forward range all the way up to and seeing 90 foot
Hi Clint, he's using the SOLIX 12 (for all of his head units).
I rather have perspective and forward. Just waiting on that black friday.
My all time favorite is the jerk bait
One of ours too, we just caught a bunch of big smallmouth on the exact bait (different color) yesterday. Water temps were 47 degrees.
@@Wired2Fish Here in Vermont perch pattern is the go to for me
Curious about how good that alpha angler slasher is for jerkbaits. Ive heard good things.
Awesome

First, win the lottery so you can afford the forward-looking or live scope or 360.
Nice
its too bad this full setup costs 5 grand. And why cant manufacturers include a video out port so i can connect my unit to a 72 inch big screen tv
The Humminbird APEX has a video out 😀
5 grand?! Multiple x2 maybe even x3. 3 solixs FFS and 360 transducers
What’s the rod BP is using for jerk bait?
full product deets in video description
Cadance?
I wish you could see your bait as far out as the livescope

couldn't agree more. i don't even really like sidescan, i still use a lowrance 4hdi
Sure, you can do math on paper, that's a lot skill, but I'de still rather use a calculator.
Let me guess, you have yet to use forward facing sonar...

6500 dollars in screens on the front of the boat lol
not impressed with the mega live and I own a solix 12, the garmin has a much better picture. I will wait until they improve it.
Put the fish back in the water , then talk
Nah 🤷🏼♂️
