Actually, this is one of the cases where English Eleanor makes a ton of sense. Early game Court of Love helps you win the loyalty clusterfuck in Europe and later your navy lets you move to places where using loyalty is unfeasible like the Americas and Australia.
Congrats on 10K!!!!! Eleonor is bonkers. She has a unique playstyle but she is fantastic if played right. It requires a bit of micromanagement and a lot of moving great works around as your borders expand, but she is fantastic. You have Hercules to place new Theatre Squares near your borders but don't forget to promote Moksha and Reyna to buy TS districts with faith/gold. Your culture will skyrocket so picking all these governor promotions should be relatively easy. Should be an easy under 200 turn win. I'm predicting T170. :p
Eleanor is so fun. Remember food for bigger cities and Amani with the -2 loyalty debuff and culture. Its so satisfying to get the city-flipping snowball running. Also congrats on 10k!
Holy damn, I literally just finished a tsl English Eleanor Europe last night following your strategies from your same playthrough a year ago. I’m so happy you made this
8:00 Norway slacking on civics not having Foreign Trade to allow joint wars. Ironically the Cliffs of Dover saved your bacon. Without the extra culture I don't think that start would be possible. What a crazy hard start. Grats on 10k!
Victor with the promotion turned out to be a master stroke, nice 1!!! Would’ve been interesting to see if how that play thru goes if you didn’t get Hercules. Always insightful & another great vid, thx Ursa! & congrats on a well deserved 10k subs! Still waiting on your 50 leader Spotlights for a 10 min vid on how to play ea Civ 😉
That was a rocky start, but I love how you pulled it out and ended up with 2 other capitals! How many did you have to play before Scotland didn't kill you immediately?
Congratulations on reaching 10,000 subs, you deserve it and more. 🎊🎊🎊 Now go build, and properly praise, Petra since I was correct about when you would get there. 😜
Awesome! Next time all you need to add is the Historic Spawn Dates mod to spice things up, maybe with the 8 Ages of Pace mod activated. I can't tell you how fun it is!
Haha, i basically only play all 50 civs tsl (with more mods tho) so to see someone else enjoy this is great. Loyalty sucks massively tho (Not all that surprising that France died immediately, shes far more surrounded. England is only so hard in this scenario coz of Robert).
And here you can see the things we stole from the Greeks... they want them back but lol... and here things we stole from the Assyrans... they're all dead so lol...
It looks like you picked the Civs close to England. For TSL I like to even out where players start on maps, so some Civs are not squeezed out and other given extra space.
Hi, I think you could have got Stirling if played a little differently on turn 30. Instead of attacking the city maybe you should have tried to siege the city with your incoming galley and by killing the scout with Hercules. Anyhow I always enjoy your video so continue the good work!
because culture gets him border growth and the gold can be translated into production empire wide. also, the culture helps him get up the civics tree faster. I agree there is a significant tradeoff there though
@@Jonnysh I thought the Huge TSL map always spawns the same resources in the same spot and I don’t remember seeing Sugar or Spices in Europe. Am I just confused here??
@@UrsaRyan I can see lol. But if not playing as eleanor, the AI being really dumb means her AI will gobble tons of capitals via loyalty without anyone defending properly and so you either conquer her or the game is hard
If you're struggling with loyalty I'm sure there are some settings (or mods?) that lower loyalty pressure - also there is a mod that make capitals always loyal which is sometime a necessity for TSL maps
I know zou say things wrong as a joke but I don't know if that's what you intend to do with Anansi but the i is pronounced in the short way so it should rhyme with the name Nancy
Leader: Vladimir Putin (Russia) 🇷🇺 Leader bonus: Eastern Bloc Cities returned in peace deals receive -10 loyalty to their founding Civilizations Spies operate at +1 level in territory of Civilizations that have denounced Russia, and an additional +1 level when neutralizing governors Civilizations spend no diplomatic favor to propose emergencies against Russia
I mean, if you are playing with 50 players, loyalty pressure matters way way more in your typical game. This doesn't really discount what critics say about Eleanor.
We're at 10k subs! Woooo!

Well done on reaching 10k Ryan!!

I started watching you when you have 600 subscribers, now you have 10K and more then 2 million views, CONGRATS.

Omg these 10000 subs look so good!
Yay. Someone that appreciates Elenor and Court of Love.
10k subs good job

Wow! What a tense start! GG so far.
I've never seen a bad Ursa Ryan Elenore Playthrough, so I have high hopes for this one as well!
looking great so far! (tenkay wooooo!)
"All the best things are stolen. Remember that, kids." Ah yes... the motto of the British Museum.
And here you can see the things we stole from the Greeks... they want them back but lol... and here things we stole from the Assyrans... they're all dead so lol...
I do Not know how you can Play a Game whit a Bad start and have the will power to finish the Game
10k subs... noice! I play this map as Ellie all the time. It's painful.
It looks like you picked the Civs close to England. For TSL I like to even out where players start on maps, so some Civs are not squeezed out and other given extra space.
Ryan is playing with all of the civs in the game so he didn't really have the option to spread out the start locations
10 thousand subscribers let's go
Yay for UR on 10k. Scaling hard towards world domination.

Well played, Ryan! Top marks for not leaving Scotland out of the pool.
Thanks Expidition: Rome, for supporting Ursa Ryan's Content
Love your content 58
Ya know if you declare friendship right when you meet a civ they almost always accept it for some reason
Did a vanilla TSL Earth with Eleanor and England has to have the worst start of any Civ. Abandoned the run quite early
10k lessgo
The save file isn't in the discord yet! Please I want to play this so bad!
why work the cliffs if you're so pressed for production?
because culture gets him border growth and the gold can be translated into production empire wide.
also, the culture helps him get up the civics tree faster.
I agree there is a significant tradeoff there though
My Huge TSL is much different /smaller to this. Any guesses as to why?
Honestly I love how close everyone is, I'm definitely going to try it but I may stop the age at medieval age to have a medieval simulator 😂
Try historical ages mod - it's fun for games like that!
Did I miss something? Why are the resources all switched up? Is that part of “Not Another Maps Pack”?
what do you mean? it looks pretty standard to me?
@@Jonnysh I thought the Huge TSL map always spawns the same resources in the same spot and I don’t remember seeing Sugar or Spices in Europe. Am I just confused here??
@@SuperKashiman oh yeah I see what you mean.
Yeah the modded map is different in that regard to the standard TSL Earth map
can't wait for the next one - exciting game!
Is Apadana a good move with Court of Love?
You could try using the loyal capitals mod to make this tsl more enjoyable, but this way of playing it is interesting to see lol
The difficulty is all part of the fun = )
@@UrsaRyan I can see lol. But if not playing as eleanor, the AI being really dumb means her AI will gobble tons of capitals via loyalty without anyone defending properly and so you either conquer her or the game is hard
10k!!!!!
What an amazing game. World conquest on the way with hardly any fighting...
Looking forward to this game!
Does anyone think English Eleanor is sober Eleanor and French Eleanor is Eleanor after she's had a few of those glasses she's holding?
I love your videos, but how on earth does your pc work with having to run 50 civs?!
I have a very lovely PC (thank you again Patreon!!)
Ayyyyyyyyy, I love you
“London’s horrible, don’t live there.”
As a foreigner living in London currently I can attest this is good advice
if you are a generally peaceful player who usually doesn't go to war, pick a european leader on a TSL map. There is no choice but war!
If you're struggling with loyalty I'm sure there are some settings (or mods?) that lower loyalty pressure - also there is a mod that make capitals always loyal which is sometime a necessity for TSL maps
Congrats on the Anglo-Dutch Union

Eleanor isn't great for a pacifist play through.. I think loyalty is a tad broken
