Noel is probably the best raconteur ever , his stories of other celebs he has met are the most interesting stuff , the mix up with Jason his driver and Jason Donovan is hilarious.
If I'm feeling in a bad place , I've recently lost my Mom and Dad , then I put on noels interviews with Matt Morgan, they cheer me up , I also tend to save the new interviews for those moments, so I will probably listen to this as and when rather than in one go.
Thank you Noel for the 90s giving me the best times of my life, but also giving the great interviews in my worst period of life

@b n cheers mate , the roses were quality too , the only surviving vinyl I have are my 12 inch roses collection , I remember going to HMV and buying a new roses t shirt on display , Reni is probably the best drummer of his era imo

Fantastic cover of a Dylan song here, but the version of Live Forever is sublime. I've had that and Slide Away as his two best songs for years, and this version makes Live Forever stand out on it's own now. Superb.
Noel that version of Live Forever had tears in my eyes wow been into ur music since ibwas 14 and I'm now 41 and urban still do that.. you are the best my man
So moved by the new version of Live forever! It’s the same song but with a completely new meaning. Like the first version was looking forward, and this is looking back.
So so glad he's acknowledged that Live Forever is actually his best song, not Don't Look Back In Anger.

Or, an extremely close photo-finish 2nd place(maybe not even a 2nd, maybe closer to just my other number 1, which might make it 1½...maybe even a desperate fuckin 1⅓?) I place Falling Down..right around there.

He laughed about it on the Matt Morgan podcast recently. He said after this interview he thought about what he said and went onto RUclips and typed in "Noel Gallagher Live Forever" and found dozens of videos of him doing it all over the world that he couldn't recall at all lol
I'd imagine there are quite a few moments of the course of his career, maybe eve days or weeks, that are completely blacked out from his memory to be fair, especially in the '90s.

I only got into Oasis in 2021, so crazy to think there are loads of people who have been fans for nearly 30 years.
If they reunite, but don't come over for a handful of North American gigs - Madison Square Garden in NYC, The Eaglebank Arena (formerly The Patriot Center) in Fairfax/D.C, either the Allstate or Credit Union 1 Arena in Chicago, The Hollywood Bowl or Staples Center in L.A, Maple Leaf Garden in Toronto, & The Mexico City Sports Palace in Mexico City - They'd ALL sell out, man! Live forever brings me back to MCR .. Walking down Ardwick on my way towards Oxford Road... with the song in my head... I can still picture that streets, that parks, smell that atmosphere... That song was a wire to land on a very hard personal time. Brilliant guy Noel.

Not sure why Jo Whiley thinks 'You ain't going nowhere' is an obscure track that "even big Dylan fans have never heard in their life"... it's on his greatest hits album.
I'm a HUGE Dylan fan and all of us Bob fans have definitely heard that song.

So awesome, saw Noel Gallagher’s band High Flying Birds open for U2 in Australia and Singapore in Nov 2019 7 times that month and they were really good
have met both these people Jo is the nicest person you will.ever meet loved a cider in brit pop days, , Noel is weird but very very funny on.these things particularly with Matt Morgan, Met Paul too hes sound also met Liam several times who will exceed your expectations in every way a great songwriter
Really good! Have to say though. Noel must've had his antennae out, cos, that's the way I sing it. Strong antennae to have picked that up from half the world away.

Noel wrote Live Forever when he was 23 yrs old. Anyone who has any doubts the man isn't a musical genius. Needs to stop & think about that for a minute or 2. This version of Live Forever is beyond words I can think of to describe it.
Listened to jo since r1 afternoon. Changing tracks was amazing, you can tell her and Noel go way back. He has a good interview with frank skinner too.
I’ve always said that the singing of Live Forever should be left to Liam. But these days, since Liam went solo, he’s never produced a performance of Live Forever quite like this one. WOW! 🤭🤭🤭

The man is a genius.
People are misunderstanding what Noel is saying about Live forever. He didn’t mean he never did it until this recording. He didn’t do it in oasis at any point. He then did a version in another key and has done it regularly since.
Great, great set! The birds chirping and guitar solo on Live Forever are quite nice. Without those additions, Live Forever would sound eerily similar to Noel's version on MTV's Unplugged.
(He must've forgotten he's played it and sang it before.)

I've said it before and i'll say it again, Mike Rowe is the backbone of NGHFB with his playing. The organ on You Ain't Goin' Nowhere is absolutely spot on from the take on The Basement Tapes. I'm hopeful to finally hear a live version of Don't Think Twice It's Alright that they did for a soundcheck a few years back.

noel said after hearing ryan adams perform wonderwall it gave the song a new direction and his own rebranding of the song. i'm thinking he heard another artist perform it and he gave it this spin.
Noels demos of live forever in 93/94 are very similar. Solo completely reworked. The original 6min demo with Liam singing on it also has a similar vibe.
I am a huge Ryan Adams fan, but I don't really like his version of Wonderwall. Noel's rendition of Live Forever is sublime.

So the bob dylan track isn't rare, I saw him performing it 1997 Wembley gig, he released it on the 'basement tapes' and regularly performed it with the Band - feckin cracking cover though... 🖖

Can tell by the way he comes up with a story about anything and everything at the drop of a hat that sometimes
he makes up stories that are untrue like what he said about Live Forever.
This is because he thinks it will make the story sound more interesting ,I remember his brother Paul Gallagher saying this in the book he wrote about Oasis called Brothers ,and how this trait irritated him a lot.
Still love him though.

Noel is wrong - there have been quite a few versions of Dylan's 'You Ain't Going Nowhere', and there is a version of 'You Ain't Going Nowhere' on 'Bob Dylan's Greatest Hits: Vol. 2'.
There is a fantastic live cover version that Roseanne Cash, Shawn Colvin and Mary Chapin Carpenter did at the "30th Anniversary Concert Celebration" at Madison Square Garden, in 1992.
It's a fantastic song.
