This guide takes into consideration more than just the slayer itself, but also long term advantages of doing certain other things first, in case you're planning to max your account. Getting the runecrafting and max combat before really pumping out the slayer grind (Which will be after 85 slayer anyways), simply ensures you have enough money to finance your gear and supplies, and the maxed combat stats ensure maximum kill speed. This guide is not for casual players who just do a few slayer tasks after their day of school/work, this guide is meant for people who are already at a stage in their account development where maxing their account is their main goal, who want to accomplish that as fast and efficiently as possible. Maxing an account already takes around 5000 hours. By following this guide you can save yourself a few hundred hours overall, and still accomplish the same goal in the end. So maybe instead of criticizing this guide for the extremely time-consuming pre-reqs, you should just accept that this level of efficiency grinding is simply way out of your league. Or you could just take the knowledge you've gained from this guide, and try to apply it in a way that works for you ;)
Im a little late to the party lol but basically, this comment right here sums it up. I really don't get all the "elitism" hate these kinds of videos get. I am a more casual player myself with no way near experience as the maxed players have, but I do appreciate the amount of research and experience it takes to find all these crafty and nifty little details into doing things more efficiently. And he isn't trying to "brag" about the requirements needed for this level of efficiency either. He's trying to genuinely help out people who actually need the info.
@@YunosVenge i am really late as well but this is "in depth" there's afk guides and he even makes sure you know this along the video. thhis is just a max account guide to slayer
Jordan Davies It was obvious, don't worry. I was just stating.. something. Anyways, I do agree with your opinion. I'm definitely not a hardcore player like Autumn Elegy, as I don't find that fun. However, I don't like AFKing either. I'd rather tick mine, fish, wc than afking them.
dude great job with this video, I thought I knew how to do slayer but you taught me so much. Keep making these efficiency videos, I cant wait to see what else I will learn
The video is great, I just don't see how people have fun playing the game like this. Worrying about what square your target occupies just so you can get a few more thousand xp per hour... Like? I swear people have forgotten that games are supposed to be enjoyable, not an "efficiency" grind.
+Matt I WBA I think people do overdo it sometimes, like you said worrying about where your loot will drop. However things like knowing it's only worth starting with 80-85 melee stats and the fact that powering through tasks makes way more money in the long run if you re-invest the cut time into things like Zulrah. I like to be efficient to a degree, but still have fun. So for me I will now power to 99 slayer rather than take it profitably, cannon all tasks etc, but other people might enjoy taking it slower, so it's all down to you at the end of the day.
+Matt I WBA Runescape is so chill game compared to others. And even if this "grinding" seems bad at the start, the results gives awesome feelings of successions which makes the game more fun. And I think nobody would play the game if the grinding wasn't enjoyable, why else would they keep grinding?
Really love the guide, about to hit 85 slayer and have been using your guides almost the entire way. I also wanted to mention that even if you just left click on your cannon, you can still not lose any combat time if you do it properly. You just have to make sure you click it right after you swing your weapon. I guess it's just preference. I also wanted to suggest something: sometimes I have a hard time seeing exactly where you place your cannon on the ground, and thought that you could potentially just give the coordinates to the spot that you place your cannon for the specific tasks, and they could just be plugged into OSbuddy like you do on a clue scroll. Not sure how many people share this struggle with me, but I guess that could potentially be a solution if you find a lot of people having the same problem.
NilowTank I've thought about it. I'd like to do a few more skills, but some are just so simple that it seems kind of pointless. I have microefficiency guides for a lot of skills, but for example woodcutting is just chop trees, do willows until 35 and then teaks till 200m. I have a guide on teak microefficiency, but it would be kind of pointless to make a 1-99 guide for it.
Very informative guide. I'm actually at 91 slayer without a cannon because I have the most fun killing slayer-specific monsters that give decent drops, but for efficiency, this is a great video.
This video literally changed my whole perspective on slayer! Everyone tells low levels to go do slayer for xp and money, which is far from the truth. Nice video, will definitely try to follow this guide! Thanks!
Heem Gaming Yeah, they say that because that's what they did most likely. It works, it's just slower than other options and doesn't make time-efficient sense.
i just make my own slayer tasks, i assign myself 100 brutal black dragons, then 75 wyverns, then 250 lizard shamen, then 50 zulrah, then take a break or go do a boss for an hour or two, you make guaranteed profit, and most importantly, you have fun

hey man, I think it would be really cool if you did a little update on this video with all the slayer changes that have been made in the past month or so (10/4/15). I know it wouldn't be that much but maybe you could add it to this video? or make an entirely separate one addressing the tzhaar and boss slayer and the new slayer bosses released. I hope you will consider. love watching your pet hunt and your slayer guides are, without a doubt, the most informative and have helped me make massive amounts of progress in the skill. 0
+Autumn Elegy awesome, I think a short video on slayer boss hunting would be cool too. tasks to block, what to unlock/ keep locked. skip etc etc or just make a video on boss hunting? idk, thanks for considering though
+Autumn Elegy also the 1-99 and efficient guides are very nice, please keep uploading them and provide realistic alternatives as you have been. right on man
Let me make a guide for runescape: Do all the quests and diaries, max your combat stats, get 99 in the money maker skills, then you're ready for slayer. Only making money from 1 source only seems necessary if you're going to max everything, which no average person has time for.
I "think" cannon accuracy is based on currently used accuracy bonus, rather than highest Not that it matters much though, since you'd always be using highest anyway unless appealing to a monster's weakness (or does cannon hit literally apply as the attack style in regards to monster weaknesses? I'm not sure)
Sathon Hm, you may be right. But yeah I don't think it would make any difference in any situations I can think of. Would be nice to get some in-depth Ash info on the cannon mechanics.
no idea why this video has any dislikes.. I've just come back to osrs first time in a year, and this very much reminds me of how to efficiently train slayer on rs3. Too bad im way too broke on osrs for this lol, but great guide
I'm all about efficient training but the whole cannon craze for slayer is just irritating. It ruins slayer for others and it's a complete "fuck you all, I only care about me" mentality that I don't think the community needs. As someone who was max melee and nearly 99 slayer on rs2 before it became EOC, there was a lot of slayer that couldn't be done with a cannon. Kuradel's entire cave was anti-cannon, and it made the slayer amazing when doing tasks in her cave. The only tasks that were still the way they are would be things like dagganoth. But on osrs, you'll be training slayer in an area, sometimes with other people, and some wanker will just walk in and plop down his or her cannon as to say "fuck you" to everyone else training. They take kills, and hog areas. Cannoning is selfish and irritating, and there are plenty of people that share the same opinion as me. I'm open to any other counter-arguments or people that feel the opposite way, but as someone who has put a lot of time training slayer on multiple games, the whole osrs cannon problem has become pretty annoying.
+iiv3l0cityii Cannoning pretty much doubles your xp rates and is worth the cost timewise. For nearly every monster in nieve's cave there's another place you could kill them where you won't be interrupted by cannoners (slayer tower, etc.), so why not just go there? It's honestly more selfish of the people who hog up good cannoning spots in nieve's cave when they could just as easily use places where nobody could/would cannon.
+Autumn Elegy i think he is going for more of a, youre training and then some douche bag comes along and drops a cannon and kills things faster because youre not doing them "proper" or the fact that the guy with the cannon is a doucebag and too lazy to find his own world like the person already there did. mostly high level douche bags bbecasue they always do things better than everyone else LMFAO
I'm currently 61 Attack, 49 Strength, 50 Defence and 28 Slayer. Should I start slayer early or wait until 80/80+ Att/Str/Def then start doing slayer tasks?
+PhantomlordPL I wouldn't worry about this Manny dude and what he is saying. go slay some shit man. I did slay early on and don't regret it, currently highest slayer level then any of my friends and bank is nearly double what theirs' are. Best of luck to you Phantom keep up your grind.
Firstly, brilliant guide very helpful. I was wondering about the range set-up, specially with the blowpipe and what type of darts. Mithril or adamant and does it depend on what slayer task, e.g. use adamant ones for hell hounds
In all reality you can train slayer whenever you want u don't need a quest cape/99rc/hard or elite diaries that shit will take u months it might be faster but the time u take getting the requirements and all the shit u need for that vs the time u take actually training will be a lot shorter I'm averaging about 50-100k slayer xp a day without any of the "before you start" requirements keep that in mind
anyone know if slayer helm bonus applies to zilyana if you have a boss task of zilyana? looked everywhere but i couldnt find anything on bonuses on bosses that werent part of a slayer task beforehand like zammy
If you like Slayer, do like me and start it at lvl 30 combat. Im maxed now but it was fun as hell to slay as a low level, first hard clue and the questing had to start :)
i cannon mourners (for elf task) at the slayer ring dark beast tele spot, just in the hallway of the basement building. i see several people do it too, what are your thoughts? I think it's not bad, a quick task for points
All these people saying training combat and slayer at the same time would be faster have to be stupid. This is max efficiency, as in, this guide is showing how you can get 99 slayer THE FASTEST WAY POSSIBLE. It will be much faster to 99 slayer if you have 99 stats to start with because you can start with the greatest tasks and kill the monsters the fastest way possible. It also doesn't save you any time skilling when you "train slayer at the same time". You are actually loosing time in the long run, because you are training on monsters that will have higher defensive stats causing you to loose xp per hour. Loosing 5-10k hp/hr adds up super quickly over time. Which snowballs into loosing time to train your other stats, which looses time for slayer, because now you have lower stats than you would have if you originally began training combat first. (Using the fastest way possible ofc). Please learn basic math before commenting something so stupid.
If I'm going for untrimmed slayer on my hcim, what are some preperations I may have to do? I know I need to smith at least like 450k cannonballs. Anything else I should write down for me to do, such as do barrows for armor, get trident asap?
I am generally an efficient person that autisms that aspect on the game, but slayer is chill man. I awlays use a cannon but bring food and stuff on most tasks, do all clues (because they are fun and mitigate some cost for cballs) and I always melee hellhound tasks, idk why, but they drop clues so often i dont bother with a cannon. I have 94 RC and I'm rich as fuck, but slayer is the only skill I feel brings me back to the old days, simply because it isn't a skill i dont care about being maximum efficient in. 80 slayer took me a week doing 90 clues and using 40k cballs and 100 ppots and 1.5k monks.
for you start with slayer get 99 combat stats, quesst cape, 99 runecrafting. Because of runecrafting you'll also need to get 99 agility before you start 99 runecrafting. see you back in 5-10 years!
Should I be skipping all skip tasks before i get slayer helm, or should I do some skip tasks instead of losing the 30 points? I already have the ability to unlock slayer rings
Blue dragons aren't really that bad with cannon and blowpipe, protect from mage and its a 40 minute task Also you mentioned this but kill your Troll Task on Jahitszo, cannoning here is great because the land is so flat.
It had a 13:37 duration in my sub box but I click it and it's 13:36. RIP in pepsi colas. Good video tho. Lots of info I'll definitely use since I'm only 36 Slayer atm. :D
good video but needed a bit about right when you start out and have like zero points, should you use canifis to farm points at the start or what, how much do you need to not risk going down to 0?
ltsjack I farmed points to get slayer rings and slayer helm but it's not really efficient to do. It's better to just minimize your skips and do some not so great tasks at that point until you get yourself up to speed with points.
ltsjack Within reason yeah. You should be gaining points consistently just doing the tasks I say you should do, so if you add one or two more in then you'll gain a bit faster points and be able to get the unlocks before too long. Getting enough points to be able to skip when necessary should be a priority over anything else.
+Kacper Krawczuk Blue Dragons are amazing money and good xp if you 99 ranged, this is probably just a Melee guide. Gargoyles are a ok afk task with auto thing. Nechrayels are fucking disgusting, block them asap. And who does Dust Devils lmao, I blocked them they take so long to kill, not very good xp.

you can use the evil chicken lair to cannon black drags 3 at a time its such a short task im not sure its worth block/skip.

TYRONE DESU lol so go get a fuckin quest cape and do all the elite diaries and req's for elite diaries this will literally take u months
Johnykjjk I'm leaving Slayer as my last skill anyway so I will have all that shit before I start.
thanks man this is going to help a ton. im maxed but only have 20 slayer lmao :D.
anyone know if slayer helm bonus applies to zilyana if you have a boss task of zilyana? looked everywhere but i couldnt find anything on bonuses on bosses that werent part of a slayer task beforehand like zammy
Step 1 to autmumn's 99 slayer guide: get 99 in everything else
well doing slayer before 99 melee is ok cause u can train with black mask so its kinda good
If you like Slayer, do like me and start it at lvl 30 combat. Im maxed now but it was fun as hell to slay as a low level, first hard clue and the questing had to start :)
Amazing guide!
god thank you, i've been trying to look for a list of what i need to block lol.
Amazing guide, but should we do clues or just ignore them? And any tips for fast banking?
Groundstrike Illidan dont do any clues, ahk
+Randalicious Do every clue... You have a chance of making bank every time you do one...
lol
Hey Caleb, great video. I'm just wondering, should I prioritise blocking tasks over buying the ability to make slayer rings/helms?
+ThreeDaysGraceRS Yeah, the priority should be block list -> task extensions -> slayer rings -> slayer helm
Ah okay, thanks! Recently started working on efficiently maxing a fresh account, so I revisited a lot of your older videos. :P
i cannon mourners (for elf task) at the slayer ring dark beast tele spot, just in the hallway of the basement building. i see several people do it too, what are your thoughts?
Could you do same kind of video of RC and farming please ! :)
Like what to runecraft and when switch to other rune?
I have a runecrafting guide for 1-99, no farming guide as of yet but i may make one in the future.
great guide, i just grinded out 72 slayer... i'm done ;)
Hey thank you for this info I will use this get 99 definitely, Do you make alot of videos? This is my first time encountering a good guide lol
Thanks for the guide :)
awesome video, thanks for the tips :)
80 slayer took me a week doing 90 clues and using 40k cballs and 100 ppots and 1.5k monks.
... It's an expression
can u do this for wilderness slayer? theirs like no guides for wildy slayer
for you start with slayer get 99 combat stats, quesst cape, 99 runecrafting. Because of runecrafting you'll also need to get 99 agility before you start 99 runecrafting. see you back in 5-10 years!
Amazing guide man make more!
nice vid, really helpful mate
So basically, max your account, then work on slayer. -_-
traderpax if ur training slayer efficiently and the fast way yes.
that was my guess. (and probably applies to nearly every skill)
thought the same lol
how do i copy and paste the items to osbuddy for items to not be showed and to be showed?
Should I be skipping all skip tasks before i get slayer helm, or should I do some skip tasks instead of losing the 30 points? I already have the ability to unlock slayer rings
when u do a similair guide / updated guide cuz of zeah
put something else from the skip onto the block list instead of nechryaels, you can burst/barrage them in catacombs
How many slayer points should I build up before I start skipping tasks? I have 100 and I'm afraid I'll run out and have to do a shitty task
Blue dragons aren't really that bad with cannon and blowpipe, protect from mage and its a 40 minute task
Also you mentioned this but kill your Troll Task on Jahitszo, cannoning here is great because the land is so flat.
It had a 13:37 duration in my sub box but I click it and it's 13:36. RIP in pepsi colas. Good video tho. Lots of info I'll definitely use since I'm only 36 Slayer atm. :D
How many cannonballs do you think il need for 80-85 slayer
With 94/99/99 & 80 range
would you suggest extending bloodvelds? i find them easy and pretty decent xp. thanks :)
damn nice videos bro, subbed.
you are my hero
good video but needed a bit about right when you start out and have like zero points, should you use canifis to farm points at the start or what, how much do you need to not risk going down to 0?
ltsjack I farmed points to get slayer rings and slayer helm but it's not really efficient to do. It's better to just minimize your skips and do some not so great tasks at that point until you get yourself up to speed with points.
So just do nieve from the start and do whatever tasks you get, even if it's like infernal shit?
ltsjack Within reason yeah. You should be gaining points consistently just doing the tasks I say you should do, so if you add one or two more in then you'll gain a bit faster points and be able to get the unlocks before too long. Getting enough points to be able to skip when necessary should be a priority over anything else.
What about if you're a ranger? Just blowpipe and cannon I assume?
This video is one second away from being 1337
also you need 85 for morytania elite diary for full xp bone crusher. not 80
+David Grove Wild pie
***** If you can get >40k/hr then they're probably worth doing
block abby specs? They're great money and super fast to kill.
+Jalene Mendez idk why even block the tasks he showed lmao all good tasks imo
+Kacper Krawczuk Blue Dragons are amazing money and good xp if you 99 ranged, this is probably just a Melee guide. Gargoyles are a ok afk task with auto thing. Nechrayels are fucking disgusting, block them asap. And who does Dust Devils lmao, I blocked them they take so long to kill, not very good xp.
@@miabrymer9174 i kno its 2 years too Late but i know youre a woman so its harder for you to use your brain but please dont speak. Everything you said is wrong
what about inferno mages?? I got that task from Nieve
what sort of xp rates could someone reasonably expect for most efficient slayer methods?
Nice video. Good info. ( subscribed :) )
Hey, could you make a block/cancel list?
Do you skip kurasks ?
I been following this for some time now and i have a few questions:
Does the new block list include the old ones aswell?
And what about baby dragons?
