- DCS F4 PHANTOM II Multicrew gameplay preview
The Phantom is the quintessential Cold War Aircraft for NATO and a Great REDFOR Aircraft for the modern era. Heatblur has outdone themselves with another module. I can say this has been worth the wait.
@HeatblurSimulations Has honored me and has given me access to the F-4E Phantom II. Here is a quick look at the Legendary aircraft coming soon!!

I think this is the best preview video I've seen so far. Great decision on their part letting you get your hands on it!💪
happy lil fella on that tail
"Is that a sensor suite on your tail or are you happy to see me?"
Glad I could help, I had a blast!
You know your shit! Bravo ;)
I don't know how you kept off the ejection handle as you counted down the altitude...That was AWSOME!
@@prichardgs I was starting to reach lol
I loved the " don't get us both killed " tension when you flew low.
That looked intense! The camera angle on that Mirage kill was next level!
You’re the first person I’ve seen use the gun in these preview videos. Very cool to see that in use. Checklist did a great job as your WSO
Confirm, first guns pass on video I’m aware of. Looked like a blast, but also looks like the gunsight really doesn’t like head on shots. Definitely more suited to tracking shots.
@@ghostdog688agree. It might be a bit easier head on with a fixed sight if it is possible to set it to a fixed pos. I look forward to messing with the module and finding out
Enigma attempted guns in his vid.
@@Volcrum didn’t catch that.
W Heatblur for letting you preview
HELL YEAH
0:10 Opening with the smiling RWR lol
Excellent video! The two of you make a formidable team, comms were ace and i love the camera angles you used as well!
Finally the F-4. DCS World can finally consider itself a modern flightsim. F-4 was the most significant fighter of the 20th Century. Can't believe it's been missing from the game for so long.
The best video about the F-4 I've seen so far. The crew coordination between you two is amazing. Next level flying. And letting rip two sparrows in sequence? Next level.
Anyone notice it actually makes skid marks when the brakes were applied. They really really didn’t miss a beat it seems like
They all do if you turn off anti skid.
fyi the centerline tank blocks the forward 2 sparrows from being launched
IIRC, the rear sparrows fired first and we dropped the centerline prior to firing the front two. I'll watch it in a few.
@@Checklist_STT yes i saw that now, good going. Sad for the that poor fuel tank tho, he became a boat
@@agidotexe7167Maybe the guy that ejected at the end can use it as additional flotation :D
@@Checklist_STT :D
Wasn't there a speed limitation on the USAF drop tanks ? I know we had VNE with RAF phantoms and droptanks...
1:33 I looked up from what I was working on to see that refueling shot, literally thought I was just watching real footage, it’s insane how realistic DCS looks
Awesome video. Its great to see they they did a bird the colors for the 163rd TFG/196TFS. I used to watch F-4s from that unit fly over my house when I was a kid.
My dad Lt.Col Hap Arnold flew with that unit from 1973-1997 and flew the O-2, F-4C, E and RF and the KC-135, as well as having flown the F-4D on active duty at RAF Bentwaters from 1973-1977. He passed away on Thursday so seeing this video warmed my heart.
aren't we just kids playing with toys at the end? 🤣🤣🤣 good video man!
We never grow up, our toys just get cooler.
@@Checklist_STT yeah 😂😂😂
I just cant every time i see the F-4's Tail and the goofy happy face
After seeing that AMAZING terminal guidance of the AIM-7, I hope people will stop sleeping on it in other modules. I always carry one on St5 in the hornet.
Super awesome vid, I strive for that level of CRM with my crewman too
I hoped the F-4 would come with improvements to AIM-7 flight dynamics and just from this video, it looks like it has. I hope this applies to all AIM-7s in DCS.
Nice Callouts, nice music. It´s just NICE! Hype is real :)
Hey thanks! She is a beast it won’t disappoint🔥
Can’t wait to see the f-4 flying around
Action packed! Great video and cinematic work there!
Great video guys. Awesome to see multi-crew in action.
I just can not belive I did not find this youtube channel until now...amazing video Sir!
It would be interesting to get an authentic Vietnam-era front- and back-seater team in this to see their opinions.
Truly amazing what can be done with video games now. I remember decades ago when i would dream about how good video games could be. In 2024 PC's have made that dream true. So many unique experiences can be had by yourself or with friends. DCS have created something special. And their partners are following their lead
Can't not mention your editing and choice of music. Cooool 😎 I've been away from DCS for a few months. But with summer on the way. Ohhhhhwwwwww 😆😁 Thanks for the preview. Lucky..... 😂😂👍🏾
Just bought mine. Be a nice way to start my summer vacation from work on the 22nd
For some reason I assumed it would do basket refueling. Glad it's boom!
Such a well done video. Thanks.
Thank you!
Beautiful piloting of a beautiful bird, looking forward to more!
The video is really cool and keeps you watching until the end. You gained a subscriber. +1.
:D
Wow-
What a fantastic video. 🤘🏾
Nice flying and fighting guys.
Can't WAIT!
Man awesome stuff man❤❤❤ can't wait
Impressive💪
great crew management fellas, really enjoyed it and cannot wait to work as a team and get the most out of the bird!
Great video! I'll be back for more. 😀
Man this was intense! Loved it!
I have been waiting for your video! You never disappoint
Mannnn why you godda go showing off such a beast like that. The hype is real for this one
Awesome work! Definitely got me hyped!!!
I love the music you use in your vids
Finally someone used the gun
Absolutely cannot wait until Tuesday! Is anyone going to release a startup tutorial before Tuesday? Would be much appreciated.
I assume Heatblur will, surprised they haven't yet.
Finally a good F4 video from an actually good content creator!
🎶I wanna be… where the f4 is… 🎶
This is peak Phantom content, boys.
🫶🫡
This is awesome. Can it be the 21st already? lol
That was amazing!
the best F4 Video out right now no fucking joke gents!
👀👀
amazing!
Good teamwork! F-4 with sparrows might become a menace on ECW, which makes me happy cuz I am gonna fly one. Who knows, I might even learn to backseat it, to get some of that smudge interpretation action.
Very cool
F+ Sparrows you only need to wait for the radar to settle ~2 seconds.
Awesome video! I did notice, it appears you're using AIM-7F's or M's which shouldn't require the 4 sec countdown, unlike the AIM-7E. Are the differences not implemented yet?
We had switched up some loadouts a few times beforehand to see what we wanted to use, and just did 4 counts out of habit.
yayayay, great stuff
Thank you!!
Mirage kill was a KO with uppercut
00:11 hehe :D
Siiiiick
Can you make a video about the Razbam - ED situation? I will not support ED/DCS until the Razbam stituation is cleared and we get updates on Razbam modules
Thx
How's the FPS situation? If we compare it to the F-14, how does it fare
1:03
I see why people confuse DCS for the real world. Like, holy...
Yeah when i was recording the shot I was amazed as well
the outboard slats stuck deployed? user error or bug in the build you had?
hell yeah vapour cone
I noticed for the fox-1 launch at 11:28, where you got lock using the ACM radar mode, you only waited about 2 mississippis before launching, but it still tracked. Was this just lucky, or can you launch sooner with the ACM lock?
I was using the AIM7F’s on this sortie thats why it was only 2 Mississippi
@@VenomCinematic is it only the first sparrow that needs 4?
@@funkyschnitzel Stated in the manual, "Before employing the AIM-7E Sparrow, a delay of four seconds should be given if the Master Arm switch is set in the ON position prior to radar lock on, or a delay of two seconds if the Master Arm switch is set to ON after radar lock on. This is due to the set-in period of the missile speed-gate. With the AIM-7F, this delay is reduced to two seconds with Master Arm switch On prior to lock, or immediately after selecting Master Arm switch to On if lock on was achieved first. Should these delays not be adhered to, the missile may fail to track because of improper target doppler injection."
f4.manuals.heatblur.se/stores/air_to_air/aim_7.html
@@VenomCinematic oh, it's the fact that it's an F! I understand. Thanks!
how much harder is it to use phantom raider vs tomcat? harder i imagine
0:12 :D
hahaha I knew people would like it!
What is that tail hook for? No carrier landings :)
they have arresting wires at airfields for emergency landings. same reason planes like the f16 have arresting hooks
USAF aircraft have a tail hook for emergency landings.
I want to ask about Sparrow missiles. Do they need to be tracked by radar throughout the flight to the target or are they “fire and forget”?
Brevity code “fox 1” means you need to maintain the radar lock throughout the missile’s flight.
“Fox 3” would be ‘fire and forget’.
@@Elysian_Angel_ If you are using the AIM-120 missile, what code are you using?
@@Skipper441 AIM120s are called “Fox 3”. In DCS other Fox3s are the Phoenix and R-77.
@@Elysian_Angel_ AIM-120 is not "fire and forget" missile.
@@Elysian_Angel_ Correct, AIM-120 is arguably the most advanced fire and forget missile. Phoenix has a dubious service history and the R-77, well its Russian so...there is that.
Cool video but that music is super distracting
"Warthunder?? "
looks like ED needs to "tweak" the sparrows to more accurate performance
they were buggy
Вы решили с современных истребителей пересесть на устаревшие самолеты ? 😮😊
The modern legendary fighter will never forgotten...
Putting it simply. I am jealous.

@@Stone46988 it's a preview model not the release model. I know how EA works
@@TomP-148 EA lol
@@TazziedoesWT ok
The synergy between you two was great. Looked like fun.
Watching these videos really drives home the importance of the manually operated RADAR of these 2nd Gen fighters. It really was an art to be able to make use of them in combat. Hardly the God's eye view you expect today.
3:24 sends sparrow, break lock immediately
Classic me lmao
Looks so awesome. Hopefully I can eventually get a rig I can run DCS on (perhaps I can make it work on the Steam Deck or eventually get a gaming laptop/desktop). Anyways, I love you guys used a 163rd TFG/196TFS livery. My Dad Lt. Col (retired) Hap Arnold flew with them from 1977-1997, flying the O-2, F-4C, F-4E and RF-4C, and having flown the F-4D at RAF Bentwaters from 1973-1977. He had over 27,000 hours, over 4,000 hours in the F-4. He passed away on Thursday and I had so hoped to see video of the Heatblur F-4E in Grizzly livery in his honor, which will tide me over until I can run it myself on a suitable rig. Thank you again! Love the video.
I have been really watching a lot of Vietnam era documentaries about the conflict and all the assets involved. From the Phantom to the M40 recoilless rifle and everything in between. So many of those early Phantom pilots hated the fact the F-4 didn't have a gun. So many lives lost because the missiles of the day, Sparrows and Sidewinders, were a crap shoot. At first they had an 11% success rate. Which basically meant that one of your missiles would score. Once you've shot your load, you were out of the fight. How frustrating it must have been seeing you had 3/4 full tanks, an enemy in front of you and not the ability to do shit about it. And while you were there, your flight could not shoot in fear of their missiles tracking you instead. But, the F-4 was never intended for that role. So it's no wonder we had such horrible losses. Never take a missile to a gunfight...
does anyone know how much hard drive space this module takes up ?
Oldie's Goldie's heavy metal style!
How is take-off and landing in the carrier?
It's a USAF F-4E so probably pretty poorly since it has none of the landing gear durability improvements of the naval variants.

awesome video! can´t wait to fly with my buddy!
Wow
Just awesome
