Never knew about the ACM vs Loft. Great tip! I love the tomcat on contention. Data link and TCS are critical to help avoid friendly fire on a busy MP server. Also, I like TWS because Jester can only do IFF in TWS. Very important if data link is down. Finally, F-14 has the speed to disengage if necessary.
@@PrezDCS hey, Prez! I'd love to join Alamo and train the F-14 with you guys, but the discord link is broken. Can I get a new link? Cheers! I've been cured!
Ah yes I remember the 80s. The Belkans are some of the craziest fox 1 jousters in mercenary history. People always talked about radar specs every saturday morning before the deathmatch started on live tv.
Interested in more F14 contention videos. I was new to fox 1 and started with the m2000, thought I was getting really good until I swapped to the F14 and realised how good the M2000 is. I’m planning on keeping it up with the F14 since it is a more fun challenge, but I could use some tips vs M2000 and the Fulcrum/flankers.
I don't think I've been cured but it's good to know I've started running and I ran around 100 kilometers in October usually at night and I enjoy the existence of sarh missiles in dcs and irl. God bless Fox 1 missiles ❤
Do you mean when using TWS? If you launch an AIM-54 in TWS then it will automatically go into TWS-Auto and track the target(s) as best it can regardless of what you or the target(s) do. If you mean RWS, just tell jester to point the radar at a specific altitude and range that you expect targets to be at. Otherwise, just fight in STT.
@PrezDCS TWS, yes sir... but for the fox 1s though. I've been flying the Shadow Reapers 80s pvpve server and I'm struggling to keep a lock on the guys flying at 1kft. I was, flying in the 20s, but have adjusted to flying at about 10k ft.
@@Vapor_32 Well, it may just be tough for jester to lock them if you're trying to go for a pulse lock, but if you lock them up from RWS or TWS into PD-STT then it should be fine as long as they don't terrain mask. There's a lot of variables that could lead to you not being able to keep track. I don't believe the issue is your altitude.
@@PrezDCS It looks much better than the clean cockpit mod I run. I’m going to have to try it out. It looks clean on the front panels but I haven’t seen the sides yet. I hope it’s easy on the VR frames. Cheers!
Hi, I just did a test on a custom dedicated MP server with a friend. AIM-7 won't guide Vs jamming M-2000C only with F-15E. AIM-7 shot by F-14 or F/A-18C will guide despite jammer ON, both in radar priority or jammer priority. I can confirm that today July 07th 2024 the jammer problem is only with F-15E. 😇
They rotate the missions between 80s and 90s. It' mostly on it's 80s variant. The 90s stuff is new. It will say on the mission name for the server in the browser what they are running.
Nah he’s fine if you’ve got patience. I think a lot of people expect him to be better at the radar, but I haven’t had much problem with him the way I use it. You can always just silence him anyways
Jester is not amazing, but hes manageable; you gotta understand that hes very straighforward, only does what hes told. That said, in Fox1 fights hes not that big of a deal. Its more tricky to use him in long range Aim-54 engagements with TWS. After HB releases the F4, they wanna backport Jester 2.0 to the Tomcat they said, and that improved version of Jester+new UI looks honestly amazing. Otherwise theres parts I like about Jester, like the way he does callouts of enemies or so, does IFF, calls missiles and uses countermeasures when he sees them. Thats pretty cool. As for the loneliness bit, I wish you the best. From my experience, I can only recommend therapy; doesnt fix it, but can help to find out why one ends up lonely.
@@termitreter6545 yep, Jester can be pretty useful when you know how to use him. Also, the video title and intro aren’t a real cry for help. I’m doing quite well these days lol. Thank you for the concern tho :)
My advice with jester is to get voice attack. Even the free version with up to 10 commands will do. I have shortcuts for radar off/on (to be sneaky or make them think I’m cold even though I’m chasing with aim9 selected). And also for jettison tanks, radar scan zones and to open the ‘target selection’ part of the jester wheel. And of course I have key binds for radar ranges and lock targets (these can be normally bound via the controls menu) It makes things so much faster and makes it feel much more like you are controlling the radar rather then asking jester. The one thing I Hate hate hate about jester is that even when you point him straight at a datalink target, he does not seems to make it his #1 priority to get that guy on radar so you can lock him. It seems like jester will scan the sky in the same way, regardless of datalink targets present. (A human rio can pick up a datalink target in seconds since the distance, altitude and aspect are known)
these titles are getting more and more concerning prezzington

Nice to see a Comp player give the cat more attention! My fav jet for sure.
Yeah ever since the AIM-54 nerf it’s fallen quite hard to the wayside b/c comp focuses almost exclusively on the more modern stuff

Any tips on how to set up the radar for "look down" so I can keep alt and put energy on my shots?

What cockpit texture mod is that? Nice!!!
I can’t remember the exact name it’s been so long, but I’m sure if you just search “black cockpit mod” for the F-14 you’ll find it on the ED website
