getting a blood pressure machine/hr machine can help when you do decide to go to the doctor because you can write down your symptoms along with your bp/bpm when your experiencing episodes. this can also help see if your bp gets low and/or high as it changes what type of meds and treatments you should do.

i not sure if this is what your experiencing or not but mcas(mast cell activation syndrome) can cause you to have reactions to your own sweat which can be potentially why you experience rashes from heat or hot bath/showers. it's very common with pots and can cause allergic like reactions to many things without actually being allergic to it. there are wide range of symptoms like rashes, itchiness, headaches/migraines, nausea, anxiety, vomiting, etc like symptoms you would get if you had an allergic reaction. it would be mcas if two systems of ur body is involved like u ate a food and now you have a headache and nausea or you touch a flower and you have a rash and anxiety

Im so sorry about american healthcare costs creating so many problems. POTS is not well understood by most doctors and does not have great treatments (you mentioned most of the common treatments) so i would say if it is not debilitating and you don't have a doctor i would wait until you have insurance. I'm a doctor, but in sweden, and i must admit i don't know much about POTS but i try to learn. But i do know the diagnosis requires several exams such as ECG and 24 hour blood pressure test. I don't want to scare you because you could have a good experience, but yeah i understand it could be difficult to get diagnosed.
Oh yes i know that you can get hives when you get hot, not entirely uncommon. I think it has to do with the sweat pores being blocked and the sweat gets blocked under the skin.
