This is the only video you need to land a job at Costco. Made it through two rounds of interviews to get hired on the spot today (10.8.24). Thank you for taking the time to share this content. The interviewers complimented me on how thoroughly prepared I was for the interview.
Nice job, I have my second interview today. My first interview caught me off guard because they didn't ask a single question that I had prepared for since those questions were something I expected more from the GM in my second one. Can I ask what your second interview was like? What were some questions that you remember? Any tips?
Good shit my guy. I just got a call today for an interview for seasonal hiring. Have been applying for over 3 years now so this is definitely a step in the right direction. I assume you were offered a seasonal position too?
Yesterday I had an interview for a seasonal position. I was pretty nervous since I haven't interviewed in over 20 years. They had me sit in the breakroom until exactly my appointment time. I was called in by a supervisor who was super friendly, and I right away felt comfortable. There was another supervisor who was waiting in the room. She was a little more on the serious side but was talking with me like a friend by the end. They had me sign the application I had sent in online and then immediately reviewed my availability, unfortunately they were specifically looking for evenings and weekends, which would not work for me. They asked if I would like to continue with the interview and I said yes (I need the practice). I had binged watched all 3 of Bens Costco videos the day before the interview. I paused after each of the questions (Ben talks fast) and wrote down my answers. Fingers crossed that Costco actually asks these questions. The first thing she said was she did not want to hear "what I would do", but "what I have done", when answering the questions. I can't remember every question asked but they did ask ... Describe a time when I had to work closely with a team to complete a project How I dealt with an angry customer What I did to prepare for the interview Why I wanted to work at Costco and one question that Ben did not talk about which was, What was my experience with safety on the job. Luckily, I had a good response since I had dealt with OSHA on my previous job and learned ALOT. Thank you Ben, I probably would have done awful without coming up with my responses prior to. At the end I felt I did great, they said they were going to send to the manager to try and squeeze me in somewhere that fit my schedule. The interview was exactly 30 mins.

Ben, I'm such a fan of your energy! I've applied online and hopefully, I'll get a call. I've been out of the workforce for around 18 years and I've noticed it's very difficult to get back in since mostly every employer asks for at least three years of recent experience. I wanted to work for Costco because it's a place I'm familiar with, been a member for 9 yrs now. I love to shop at Costco as a consumer, yet I have to say when you mentioned Costco's customer service, whenever I need help with an item, there isn't an employee in sight to help me. I've always had to go to the front where I can see what I'm guessing are supervisors talking and I feel very uncomfortable having to interrupt their conversation. I understand Costco is a very fast-paced environment, but as a member who needs assistance, it can be very chaotic and stressful. I shop frequently at Costco, and I have to say the cashiers don't greet or smile, and neither do their assistants. It's all about how they can check a member out and on to the next. It takes a few seconds to greet and smile, it's too bad I don't see that anymore.
Hi ,Ben ! I’m applying for the Supervisor in Training and I’m feeling it ! It’s gonna happen and I hope I’ll get it . I’ve learned so much about my company through you . I’m ready ! Cheers from Austin Texas ! Claudia !
Hello, I literally just finished my costco interview and your video was very helpful, here are some questions I remember... Literally the minute they sat down they asked "do you have any questions for us?" I asked 2 questions: what are you expectations of me. And what is your experience as an employee. Then they started asking me questions. 1. Tell me about a time you achieved a goal. 2. Tell me about a time you took on a leadership role without supervision. 3. What would you do if you coworkers was not doing their job 4. Tell me about a time you achieved a goal in a group setting 5. Tell me about a time you couldnt deal with a situation and how did you ask for help 6. Tell me about a time you had to talk to your supervisor about an idea and how did you go about it 7. Why do you want to work for Costco 8. If we call your references right now, what weaknesses will they say you have. 9. Tell me about a time you had to reflect on a mistake you made. Oh and at the end of the second/first stage (I did both at the same time) they asked again if I had any more questions for them, and I asked them 2 more questions: what is there work shift availability and if at any point in the interview they thought i was unqualified for the job (I think they were surprised and really liked this question) Theses are the few I remember😅, lol the interview was almost an hour long (I went through 4 stages lol). Theses questions are a mixture of all stages. They said they really liked me and they would call my references and get back to me in two days.

I stated I left my previous job to focus on school and I put a job on there that I had for 2 months, do you feel those are red flags?
I got turned down from a Costco when I should of looked at this video last week good thing another costco called me today for a job interview I will come prepared this time. I do have one thing in mind when the interview questions are done, the manager says what question you have for me. What are some good one question I can tell him.
Hi Ben, I applied to Costco online near me on 7/6/2024, I went to the store today 7/11/2024 talked to a manager and handed in my resume (open availability and any department) what do I do next?
I had a phone interview with Costco over the weekend. From there established a one-on-one interview today. I arrived on time. At the membership desk they call over the intercom "your 3 o'clock interview is here." They instruct me to wait in the food court area. I sit at a table for twenty-five minutes. No one comes. I decide to get up and leave. Not impressed if they can't be punctual also.
@@BenTalksTalent What's strange is that when I had the initial phone interview I was never given a name for who I was supposed to be meeting. Either someone in HR or a manager. So that was confusing. I can maybe give the benefit of the doubt that the person on the phone I first talked to scheduled my day incorrectly, or the person that was to do my interview was in a conference call. 🤷♂️ Who knows. @@scopez7780 and to answer your question I honestly don’t remember the interview questions I was asked I just remember that my 2nd interview was them asking me why I wanted to work there and after that I kinda took over the interview by letting them know about my past experiences and also by letting them know I understand what the demands are for this job but all I can say now is good luck and hopefully everything goes your way and I would say not to stress so much about it remember to just stay calm and breath as long as you got answers to each and every question they ask you everything should go smoothly for you again good luck hopefully you can get it
I have a question if you apply for a position at Costco let's say stocker. Do they still ask you about the cash register or other positions you did not apply for. Also if you apply part time do they accept part time for stocker because that's the position I want to apply for???
Forgot to ask let's say if I don't have any experience for a position because this going to be my first job and I'm 18 years old do they still hire you and do you still need a resume if you don't have other job experience???
So I would prepare for those questions just in case. As far as a resume, it’s tough with no experience but maybe you could create a cover letter stating your intentions.
I cannot find a place to evenput in an application with costco. Everything on line takes me someplace else---like apply for Lyft---which I don't want. Tell me the basics---how do I just put in an application and then get to the interviews.

@@BenTalksTalent I think I remember Costco or some of its employees saying, "The Customer is Always Right." Is that saying still useful? Does that concern Customer Service? In a sense of urgency, it seems that the customer comes first or something similar to that saying.
What do they look for on background checks? I didn’t put all jobs I’ve had because some were second jobs and some I stayed only a short time is that going to hurt me?
I don’t think that should hurt you. If they ask, just say you didn’t include those jobs because they were second jobs or you deemed them to not be relevant to your current pursuits. Good luck Jody!!!
Constructive criticism sometimes can be a sign hidden eork abuse from coworkers & employers to make you do all the work while they criticize you reoeatedly. Especially when you are going up & beyond for the company .
@@BenTalksTalent I remember watching your other video on how to answer, “How to Answer Why You Do Want To Work For Costco?” Someone from the video’s comment section says that having a Costco Job prevents him from being homeless. Does that mean something to you? I’m assuming people have worked for Costco in a specific number of years. Even without a college degree, people are still getting paid a specific amount yearly.
@@BenTalksTalent My former high school classmate has dropped out of college a few years ago. He doesn’t have a college degree, but he is still earning money from various jobs in the past several years. Does a college degree necessarily equals success? Is it bad not to have one?
If you guys didn’t get the job, don’t feel bad. Let’s me tell you it’s not all great as what people say or assume. You start of part time. They will assume you did something wrong. If something happens, they like to put the blame on the trainee. They’re constantly telling you to work fast to avoid overtime, so they don’t have to pay you the full amount on your shift. They hire you for one thing and changed without you know. Imagine getting hired as a cashier or an assistant to the cashier, and then they tell you you’re working at their gas station or getting carts instead as your position. Everyone gets 3 days off during a week that’s has a holiday in it. But not you. You’re scheduled for 6 days that week. Good luck.

@@BenTalksTalent thank you. Normally I stutter on the phone but I called and managed to sound super professional they said they’ll reach out to me Sunday hopefully I get an interview
@@Awiz69 any updates? I just applied I’m too shy to call either way I need to cause I need a job asap
@@yesenia_marin they said they won’t be hiring for a few weeks but they’ll call back. I’d suggest calling to get your name out there I know it can be nerve racking but it’s much harder to get a job without calling. Weekdays after 12 and before 5 are probably the best times since the store will be slow
Hi ben !
Just got done with my two interviews today!
And they said me will call you in a day or two!
And also said that we have an orientation next week so are you available!
So what should I expect!!!
Well it sounds like you got it to me.
@@BenTalksTalent
Yippie! Thank you
I got a call from Costco todayy! And i m hired
@@shahnawazahmed7723 what did they ask you in your 2nd round of interview questions? I got my second interview Monday and im stressing so hard, in my first interview I was caught off guard and was asked completely different questions that I thought they were going to ask
Hey Ben! I went through the interview process and I would give myself an A++ on answering the questions. I took a drug test and we waited there for around 10 minutes and then they told me I’m all set and a manager will call me for for orientation. This happened yesterday. How long would this phone call take to come?
That can depend on the store and manager schedule but congrats on the good interview! Hope you get it!
I'm in the UK and will be applying to Costco here soon. I've been working in the medical field for the past 10 years but before that was in Customer service for 10 years. Will it be harder to be hired now since I've only done medical work for the past 10 years and not customer service? How can I convince them I can still do other work and be quick to learn again? Thanks
how many interviews do you go through at Costco? I did my first one and thanks to ben I felt pretty confident in my answers but I was asked to go back for another interview does anyone know how many you have to go through?
It can depend on the store. I am not 100% sure so I would hate to speculate. I have more CostCo content coming!
@@BenTalksTalent hi ben so unfortunately I didn't get the job at Costco I was caught off guard during my 2nd interview but thankfully I got a 2nd chance at another Costco and so I had a question for "why do you want to work at Costco" I have seen your video but the issue is that I have no clue what role I will be doing because when I applied I put any position so what kind of response can I say to a question like that?
@@JordanSmith-pg3of what did they ask you in your 2nd round of interview questions? I got an interview Monday and im stressing. I did terrible the first one, was caught off guard.
@@scopez7780 hey man I would honestly just watch bens video it is very beneficial what I did was watch his video and opened up a google doc and answer each and every question it helps out honestly because it gives you the chance to brainstorm and think of every possible response to the questions that may be asked I would definitely recommend having another person help you out as well to help you think of the best response you can give once you find the best response you can use that google doc as your own study guide and if your lucky enough and Costco is busy or they delay to do your interview I would take advantage of that by continuing to study and keeping all the answers you have fresh in your mind I will say this if you can pass the first interview they may have you do your 2nd one right after your 1st one is done if they don’t then they will tell you to come in on another day for a 2nd interview if you pass your 2nd interview then they will ask you if you can stay and do your drug test it’s very easy and afterwards they explain too you on what you can wear and what you can’t wear along with letting you know when is going to be the next orientation which will be at 5 in the morning and that is when you will get your badge and find out what position you got
I’m in the same boat as you
I cannot find a place to evenput in an application with costco. Everything on line takes me someplace else---like apply for Lyft---which I don't want. Tell me the basics---how do I just put in an application and then get to the interviews.
Hopefully you have found it by now. I would need to go back to their site and check it.
I work at the post office, can I be truthful about my other job. I'm looking for extra income.
If you can avoid it do NOT apply to stock the pharmacy I repeat do NOT stock the pharmacy, you may just end up regretting it lol
Thanks for the heads up Sam!
@@BenTalksTalent anytime Ben 🙏🏾‼️
it was tough to be in the pharmacy at first but as days are going it's been the easiest department for me ..
@@KaiOz I’m glad to hear it gang when you have good managers it can be a good work environment
I do pharmacy stocking and believe it was difficult at first, but been doing it for 7+ years and love it!
Thank you Ben for this video. What’s the right answer for what do you do when you see a co-worker slacking off?
You are very welcome! I would say it’s inform the manager. They are big on resolving issues quickly.
And I have interview in Monday morning and I am so nervous
Don’t be nervous!!! You got this!
what are costco part time hours
Should i apply in person at the specific location or just call in to apply?( and if i do call then who should i ask for?)
I would say online or in person.
Can you write all questions about Costco interview please because my English is not good.
I am sorry, I won’t have time before your interview.
Today I give an interview and they told ne on Wednesday I need to attend orientation... I don't know yet I am hired or not
Sounds positive. You hear back yet?
@Ben Talks Talent - Interview Advice yes they call me yesterday and told me to buy non sleepers shoes
Hello, I have applied at Costco and received mail for selecting my interview availability.
But when I open that link, there is something weird details coming up.
Can you please give any kind of idea whether that’s something genuine mail or a scam?
Just wanted to say thanks for making these videos. I had my 2 interviews yesterday and I ended up getting the job. I had a couple questions that were out of left field, but thanks to these videos I was prepared to answer them.
Congrats! If you don’t mind me asking, what were the questions? I’d love to make a video addressing them.
Congrats man. I got a call and had my first interview but never got a call back for a second. Was really bummed out but it is what it is.
@@dualtags4486 he said, which questions they give you? Can you tell us? Thanks ❤
Should I talk to the hiring manager in person before I am contacted about a review?
Hey Swag! Not sure what you mean. By review do you mean interview or the hiring team reviewing your interview?
@@BenTalksTalent sorry I meant interview lol. I talked to the hiring manager yesterday and he said he would give me a call after he pulled applications but still no call yet.
@@swagboy7479 ah ok. Well hopefully you get a chance to interview!
@@BenTalksTalent I just got a job offer from a different company and I have not heard from Costco yet and I really want to work at Costco so I don’t know what to do.
Ben Talks Talent - Interview Article Does Costco allow employees to pick their own schedule to work? Or does it give the employees the work schedule?
It probably depends on the manager, the needs and a few other factors
@@BenTalksTalent I think I remember Costco or some of its employees saying, "The Customer is Always Right." Is that saying still useful? Does that concern Customer Service? In a sense of urgency, it seems that the customer comes first or something similar to that saying.
Hi Ben Do you have the link to the job description at Costco’s for an interview
I don’t. But I think you could find them on indeed or costcos career page.
I got a interview tomorrow, so hopefully I am able to satisfy my interviewer
I hope so too!
@@BenTalksTalent I should know my results by Monday, so I hope I'm one of the selected few.
Hello dear sir!,
Can out side usa person apply for this job? eg:- Sri Lankan?. Please help me sir!. Im waiting for your reply🙏🙏🙏
I don’t think so. They target local applicants.
Would I be hired if I don't have work experience?
Potentially. Probably depends on their needs and how well you interview.
@@BenTalksTalent Oh ok that's good to know, thanks!
😢 wow I don't think I'll pass the interview because I don't speak much English I applied but in my own way
Try your best! You never know!
I had 2 interviews. The second one was the 3rd. They didnt hire me on the spot. Do i still have a chance?
I have my interview in less than 12 hours. Im very underprepared man.
Constructive criticism sometimes can be a sign hidden eork abuse from coworkers & employers to make you do all the work while they criticize you reoeatedly. Especially when you are going up & beyond for the company .
I think it’s possible. It can be helpful but it can also depend on other factors.
Does Costco do urine or swab tests for drug testing?
Does Costco have employees that work without a college degree? Is there ever a Costco Employee who has worked there for a number of years?
Yes. You don’t need a degree to get hired.
@@leobalunel9 I believe that person got the job and it kept them from being homeless. Which is great.
@@BenTalksTalent My former high school classmate has dropped out of college a few years ago. He doesn’t have a college degree, but he is still earning money from various jobs in the past several years. Does a college degree necessarily equals success? Is it bad not to have one?

i hate working here pls send help
Why would you want to work there
Some people do
Costco is my dream job
Wow, I’m going to lie a lot in my interview
😂😂😂
That’s basically what interviewing is… who is the best liar.😂
Good luck.
