    Awesome vid! I’m a meat manager myself but you get paid for any person pay over 72 hours…you don’t loose it, you do only roll over 40 hours for vaca and anything over 40 hours of vaca not used is lost

      @@MrKilios01 don’t quote me on this but it’s in the realm of 92k. Managers are usually hired from within. You would be ever so lucky to get right into management. Usually that only happens when there are grand openings. Or they can’t find a good replacement under current line of succession. You can try to get in as a meat cutter as a foot in the door, then get into management. They start off at $20.50.

My only wish is that I wish I knew this type of stuff during my high school years because if I did, I would’ve started when I graduate, but that’s OK. I started at 33 and now at 35. But everyone seems to stay there for a long time which tells me that they enjoy working there. And that I also liked how they have different departments so I won’t ever get bored and that there is always something new to learn. They didn’t ask me much since I covered a lot with my own work experience. They did ask me if I would be ok to clean bathrooms push carts ect. Which I said answered yes, if it were necessary. Hey! So I actually did transfer to a different Costco for a while to get full time. Optical can be tough because of the pay we get and seems like a lot of people are usually trying to get in. Aside from voicing it to your manager and keeping an eye open for opportunities at other locations, there's not much to do to get full time. A while ago I wanted to be a manager but I am pretty happy as an employee, but if I ever wanted to do it I would definitely go for optical manager. • @CostcoDude
      @CostcoDude  Месяц назад

      Full time positions come up a few times a year throughout the warehouse. I think if you're willing to move to a different department you'll increase your chances.
      Many employees will do that or even go as far as transfer to a different building if it benefits them, like I did at one point going from a warehouse 5 minutes away to one that was 30 mins away.
      When I was part time and wanted more hours I'd let the scheduling supervisor know, and I would also let my co workers know that if they wanted to switch their longer shifts for my shorter ones, I'd be happy to pick up their hours. Just know switching shifts works when it's either on the same day or when you trade off on your day off. Eg. You work 4hrs Tues and have Wed off, and your coworker has Tues off and works 8hrs Wed. Hope that makes sense
