    I like that transition to sit up sweeps. I practice mostly for self defense, so getting up to gain waist and hand control is a priority. This seems like a quick way to do that.

    I thought I was just too bad with No Gi De La Riva but this makes sense, the single is just too logical.
    I loved you didn´t cut that part hahaha, actually that´s my entry to deep half guard.

    Great video. I loved the reality left intake. It helped to liven up the lesson and made the info stick.

      @@aaronbenzrihembjj6014 if possible can you please do more videos on both dela riva and reverse dela riva?
      I like both the guards but know very little about them.

      Eric Grigorian will do, I have a segment on both in the gi where a lot of techniques translate to no gi but I’m going to add some and do no gi

      @@aaronbenzrihembjj6014 yes thats right I have watched the ones in the gi. Doing them for no gi specifically would be even better!

    I always have my butt on the other side of their leg when doing the de la riva which explains why Ive had trouble with some of the sweeps and transitions shown. Would you not advocate butt on the outside or is it just a different thing?

      I like to be on the inside a lot. When I go out I’m usually attacking. It makes it easier for them to knee cut unless I’m in deep dlr. my butt is always on the outside when I play rdlr

    Hey Aaron - do you ever go into x guard straight from DLR, if so how? Or do you think it's easier from SLX to X?

    • @aaronbenzrihembjj6014
      @aaronbenzrihembjj6014  4 года назад +1

      I think it’s definitely easier to go slx to x, and it is a much more secure and tight way to enter against high level guys. However, sometimes my opponent will take a huge step over my free leg (not the dlr leg) and their leg will be by my shoulder and in this case I almost always go full x because they give it to me. It happens a lot. There are other entries as well
