I was a plumber for 11 years, worked commercial and industrial plumbing on a military installation where they trained recruits to permanent party soldiers. Loved the job and the people I worked with but had to quit that profession because I contracted hepatitis B and C. There is all kinds of bad bugs in human shit. That was many years ago. I had all kinds of test and even liver biopsy and all expenses came out of my pocket. At the time my 5 year old son and wife had to be tested along with my youngest that was still in the womb. Government in a crappy way said there’s no proof I contacted it thru work. In other words I got the shitty end of the stick.

I have a friend where he worked, done work for the city and worked on the water treatment plant and the sewer plant. They took care all their welding and fabrication needs. You are right to charge for all the safety hazards and getting suited up. Most of the time when the water or sewer plant called it had to be done right now so that alone makes the price go up. Just keep up the good work.

I've seen how the drivers that pick up those dumpsters don't care and back into them. Watched one guy hit one 4 times in different spots trying to back up to it with the rails tilted and about a foot off the ground. 4 separate holes on one side because he was at a angle. He got it right when I asked him if he needed me to back the truck up. I mean it's not that hard to back a truck up to one of those dumpsters.

Rolloff driver here, theres a million legit reason the container could be mishandled. Stuck rear roller, rock preventing it from rolling, stuck on rail wont slide off, in these situations you have to do something. Correctbdriver shoukd be able to handle it, but fucked up equipment is a real thing.

I am curious why no one at the plant could do it? We all had to have a semester of welding class where I went. That was after 20 years as a journeyman industrial sheet metal worker.
Happens alllllllllllllllllll the time. We have 2 full time guys who patch, paint, rerail, brace etc hook and cable bins. Hook is way more likely to bash a hole behind the loop. Being double sided the driver may have even put this bin down a few feet short & tried to shove it back so he doesn't need to rehook it.
I would’ve drive home immediately afterwards and jumped in a hot shower….. for hours. I’m definitely not afraid to get dirty when I work but this is a whole new level of…god I don’t know what. Your apprentice rocks! BTW…just found your channel. Really enjoy your content!

A shitty job might be welding pressure piping in a basement of a sewage treatment plant. With shit spewing out of the pipes lol. Ive done a fair share of that. This job was definitely emotional damage. But in all seriousness all the carbon you breathe in air arcing, the death plume from plasma cutting, the flux core fumes from running large diameter wire, all the dust from and grit from the grinding and cutting abrasives is far worse my friend. Stay safe, protect yourself more on a daily basis. Keep up the great work, keep putting out great content but most importantly, be more vigilant on taking care of your health. 👍

I've got a saying I use quite often ! That is (CFS) Can't Fix Stupid ! And people that do damage like that , well that describes them very well ! I work in as a fork lift operator and boom lift operator and I see damage almost every day due to carelessness or Stupidity ! Hence (CFS) A suggestion next time if there is a next time tell them to have it pressure washed out at least !

I remember one time years ago my uncle and I were removing an injection pump from a 3208 CAT generator motor. They had a concrete block screen wall built right beside it and my uncle is a really big guy so he was stuffed in there. The business was JTM meat plant where they make pre cooked burgers and hoagie patties. All of the sudden the truck showed up to pump down these giant tanks of rancid grease. Oh my god dude! It stunk soooo freaking bad 😂 Both of us had tears running down our faces trying to keep from puking 🤮 My uncle was stuck and couldn’t get out. I had to go back in and help him get out. He is from the south and was always about plain simple talk so when we finally got out all he said was “They stir that MFR up again and we’re outta here!”😂😂

IE: guy pays $2800/month to rent a shop space 80% of that is land taxes, so if a quote goes out for $250 on a $1800 job, their are other services in place to sell material at that end job rate tho priced down to the billing quote of licensing... less money exchanged is less tax one has to pay, more things in the way in civil structuring that lure confusion. $800/hr in Alberta is normal, just billing 40/hr... getting around to use it right is to complicated for a first year... bill more and don't get the job... not hard to get $1200/hr off of billing $40/hr. but a $50 7kw generator makes 10kw 280 volt at 75hz, 250amp mobile set up, scrap bins sorting knowing what's what and is not. anything better then a 3rd world set up is a good rig.

When the driver came for pick up, turns out the previous haul was freezer food from Walmart that sat for days, before pick up, driver said the truck stunk after he dropped of to me.
my first job in the welding industry, was cast iron sewer pipes, for the local poop treatment center, no matter how well they were steam cleaned, l always went home smelling like l'd been up to my neck in shit.
Do you have a hydraulic bender mounted on your work truck. To bend up to 18" wide thinner plate. Perhaps using thru hole Portapower rams that you already own .
I have to repair packers AKA trash trucks. I usually move the diapers, maggots and other hygiene products with a shovel. Just to access the hydraulic lines. Or patch repairs.The juice is lovely 🤮

i used to do welding repairs in a meat rendering plant..skips full of dead animals turned into oil..fertilizer..etc.. it stank to high heaven and i was only on £7 an hr... broken screwdrives in the bottom of tanks or broken teeth in the choppers... when i was welding it would cook the meat..🤮
after rain ,definely ,they will be an airborne from inside the tank(soil ,water,eyc ),when sun heat up ,water vabourise will carry all type of unknow good friend and start airborne journey....the tank owner should take responsibility of the sterilization job,before send to any people for repair...

This reminds me, when I was a pipe layer ,I layed new sewer pipe as the operator of the excavator would dig up the existing while it was in use.
I think I would’ve just told them to clean it.. Definitely not too much to ask to have them shovel it out and pressure wash it down.

A simple cloth mask is now effective against viruses, I don't know why they even sell respirators, just take out asbestos etc. with a bandana and you should be fine.

I used love drivers like that.. if everyone was careful, there'd be less work. - I'd have cared less if they used it to store rhino-poo - we all wipe our butts - and that's gettin close to poo too... we used get all the "our crap-pipes collapsed & nobody wants to fix it!!" jobs as we cared less about stanky work - and the bills were similar too. Poo upps the price. :-)

There is a liner but it always gets holes in it. And it never gets cleaned. There are many unanswered questions with this one.
