      Thanks buddy. Yea, low quality is not worth watching when it can be clearer. I have recently realized my rendering settings defaulted to the lowest quality and not sure if it worth going back and re uploading old videos. I think I will just make sure that is changed going forward. As you probably know, learning the ins and outs of editing is the hardest part of these videos.

    Excellent shooting . My son has the 16” and has had not had issues with FTF OR FTE. FEDERAL 150 gr. Has fired about 180 rds. Changed out to H2 buffer after 20 rds and changing out mag to Magpul. Did not like plastic factory mag.
    I had laid the 20” away last JAN. Picking up next week. Did you change out gas regulator? What Scope do you have ? Excellent rapid fire in the wind. What junk ammo ? Hornady Black seems to be consistent. TRJM

      Thank you!! Congrats on joining the SFAR club. That video I hadn't changed to the 2nd generation gas regulator as of yet. Still the ruger 1st gen But lately i did change both 16 and 20s regulators to the updated ruger 2nd gen. I have a Nikon M308 for a scope. This scope is designed for the 168 grain bullet with a BDC. The just ammo I started to shoot at the end was some IGman that wouldn't cycle in my 16" sfar. Here is my 16" SFAR at that distance.

    Nice! Can you provide a little more info on your scope setup? Make/model?
    I have enjoyed shooting my 16” SFAR and very happy with it. I have a Trijicon Credo 2.5-15x42 on there now, but I think I prefer a similar setup like your red dot and 3x magnifier.
    Really enjoy your vids and wish I had a nice long range like you (but you can keep your winter weather!). 😂

      On this 20" I am using a Nikon m308 scope. Back about 6 years ago I picked this up for an ar10. NIikon since got out of the gun scope business 😒. For the 20" it's great. My 16" I'm using an eotech holographic with a 3x magnifier. For that setup I love it as that gun is my bug out close and agile gun. I would think that Trijicon would be pretty nice for that same type of setup. What don't you like about it?
      I appreciate your comments and support for my channel. Thanks brother!

      I appreciate the info! I have a Nikon Black FX1000 on my Ruger Precision 6.5 Creedmoor. Wish they would have stayed in the scope market!
      Don’t get me wrong, I love the Trijicon, I just think the 16” is better suited to a SHTF setup and smaller optic like a red dot.
      Keep posting the great vids!

    • @publicdefender77
      @publicdefender77  Год назад +2

      @@Support2A You have the Ruger Precision 6.5 with the FX 1000!? That is a sweet gun and one that is on my list. I was thinking about doing one in 308. Would be a great gun for my range! Too bad you were not closer to make a video with that.
      I agree, the red dot is quick to see when pulling the gun up making it a great option for SHTF. Your Trijicon would be perfect on a 20" SFAR.
      If there is any video or scenario you have recommendations on, I am all ears (any gun/caliber). I will be doing a 20" vs 16" SFAR review in the next month, but I am open to any other suggestions.

    Trying to decide which one to get does the 4 inches really make that much of a difference for range or accuracy

    • @publicdefender77
      @publicdefender77  9 месяцев назад +2

      I decided to get both. I guess it all depends on what primarily you want to set it up for. The extra velocity is nice from the 4 inches. But I would say it's gonna be a huge difference in accuracy under 500 yd.

    • @Wisconsinsportsman
      @Wisconsinsportsman 8 месяцев назад +2

      @peytonreed8145 I switched only because. My 1st generation regulators ran great. This video here was done with the 1st gen regulator. I have an SFAR Playlist and one of my later videos I swapped them both and made a video on it.

    Next time you might want to do better to know whats behind your target. You almost got yourself a turkey out of season. The worst part is the young man behind the camera just got a live lesson and now thinks that OK to keep shooting when non targets are down range.

    • @publicdefender77
      @publicdefender77  2 месяца назад +3

      😂 You must be joking. That turkey was 100 yards behind the target and I was nowhere close to hitting him. Fall turkey season was in force and I had a tag if I did hit him. That's like saying you shouldn't shoot at the range in case a ground hog might pop up at some point.

      Would you still shoot if your dog was back there? Wait, what about a loved one? The safe shooting rules were established for a reason "know what's down range of your target." Different strokes for different folks, I guess, but that's not how I roll.
