I wish they would give the option of that ONE wide shot unedited. You can’t follow anything with multiple camera angles. These video guys don’t understand marching band
Sounds great, and I know I'm beating a dead horse here, but I just wish they LOOKED like the Bluecoats. One of my favorite aspects of drum corps when I was getting into it was based on the uniforms, show design and sound you instantly knew who it was. In the lot from 100 yds away you knew it. While I respect the artistic freedom and the individual demand on each performer, something has been lost in exchange. I just don't think it has to be one or the other. You can be artistic and creative while still presenting a clear and readily identifiable vision of who you are as a group season to season.
This, this, and more of this. They don’t have to do the same thing every single year, but they can still have a consistent visual identity. Corps like Phantom Regiment, Blue Devils, and Cavaliers have all learned how to stretch convention yet still design uniforms that maintain their identity through color and/or design.
@@mel-px7hl Interesting. I thought my comment was reasonable and evenly stated. I suppose opinions may vary. I'm curious - do you perceive anyone whose opinion differs from your own to be acting "like a toddler"?
@@randyevans4967 you’re complaining/advocating for something that will likely never happen again. The same a child complains when they lose their favorite toy on a road trip. Drum corps is ever evolving. The same way the design of the jackets are wildly different from the 1970s to the 2000s, the physical demands jumped from the 2000s to 2020s. Thick wool uniforms and clunky helmets are not logistically realistic in a modern Bluecoats show. And you can either accept that and learn to like it, or continue to complain and get called out for it.
@mel-px7hl okay, chief. You're obviously passionate about this, and I respect that. And you've clearly had these discussions before. You might want to go back and re-read my comment because you are projecting things on me that i didn't say. I never said I hate modern drum corps, or why can't we go back to 1988 or why today's corps are terrible. This isn't about wool uniforms and helmets as you put it. I simply said that I liked it when each corps had its own identity, from a visual sense. There are positives to the total creative freedom that many corps currently embrace. I think there is a way of balancing tradition and visual identity with creativity and modern design. It doesn't have to be all or nothing. Some corps do this better than others, in my opinion.
They're emulating the drum track from the source material (Threshold by Sungazer) which uses odd tuplet rhythms there's a few RUclips videos about the theory behind it. I think its a bass split

There is genuinely no horse left to beat. You’re just hitting the ground like a toddler.
