- Today Darren is at the Teeling Distillery in Dublin, probably for the last time when they see this video. He's trying the Teeling Wonders of Wood Swedish Oak edition, and breaking a multitude of copyright laws while he does it.
The editing and delivery is getting better, but the jokes are just as terrible. Never change, Darren and Grainne.
This has become a series I look forward to every week. Great job.
Teeling has been my favorite distillery since 2021.
I've been there 3 times now (I live in California, so it's a bit out of my way) and every time I've been there, I've run into Father Teeling (Dr. John Teeling).
Very enjoyable to talk whiskey with the man.
Darren, you old lady nanna cardigan wearing legend!
Another brilliant performance Darren!!! Howdy Griannia, love your pop up performances!!! Big hugs from Kenny in Ohio, USA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know nothing about and don't particularly like whiskey but I'm really enjoying this series! They're always informative and entertaining, keep up the great work Darren!
Darren, these videos are a new highlight to Fridays.
Keep up the great work.
I love these videos and I don't even like whiskey.
I mean, you ask Grainne to edit your video this is what happens.
I will have to get a bottle of that, since I love Teeling to begin with, I'm sure it's remarkable.
I also love that Grainne is in every video! She is an awesome lady, with a cool sense of humour!
Darren, you are the wizard of whiskey!
Welcome to visit us in Sweden Darren! You'll find out that we have a lot of trees here to make barrels from. And some distillers that fill them with swedish whisky.
So glad I got to see this one before it got pulled for...reasons.
I don’t know how litigious ABBA are…
@@ThisTastesLikeWhiskey They have a song called Money Money Money.....
I love your music choices! Eddie Floyd is a great soul singer
I had to rewatch the “jump scare”… I thought you spilled your glass! 😂
Your chances of being surprised by ninja Grainne are low, but never zero.
Yah do this every week...... I'm drooling over a whiskey I may never even see here in the wilds of northern British Columbia.....no lumberjack songs please( get enough of that at work)
I would like to thank you for expanding my understanding of Irish whiskey and some of the history behind it. Truly wets the appetite for a good dram.....off to the cupboard for one now!
Keep up the fun and games, the two of you are special from my point of view. Till next week....
You and Gráinne should come to Tennessee and make episodes about the Tennessee Whiskey Trail. It is a collection of 25 distilleries from one end of the state to the other. It would make a great honeymoon... (Or just a great trip.)
these video's make my week worth the wait for friday's. keep up the good work you two.
Love this series!
Thank you.
Great stuff. Thanks.
I really enjoyed the lesson with the actual equipment being used of how it’s made- with a Darren & Grainne flair, not sold anywhere else. Keep it up, guys!
Really enjoying this channel! Keep up the great work!
Memphis music! Always a great choice.
Gotta love a bit of Eddie Floyd.
I was going to make the same comment....vibes from before Darren was born 😅
Many years from now when the million plus subscribers are looking back on the "early days" of the channel, I wonder what they will think? 🙂
Wishing you every success from Lewiston, Maine, USA.
Love the Hitchcockian cameos.... or are they Blumenthalian? ;)
My favourite ❤
Darren, see if you can get a bottle of Whiskey from Spirit of Hven. It's distilled on a small island between Sweden and Denmark. They do vodka and gin too.
I will keep an eye out for it.
Always a hoot, Darren.
You were fairly fast there at the end. I'd pay a nickel to see you race Dermot.
Wood I say this video is Wonderful? I wood. 🥃
Unlike Grainne, this one did not sneak up on us 😅
Darren talking about Teeling, name a more iconic duo lol
But it's so awesome the opportunities and all the places you've been able to go, thanks for showing us around!
Good on Teeling for uping the proof. As a bourbon drinker in the US, I seldom buy lower proof juice. Just a personal preference.
I absolutely love this series! Please continue it! Would you consider doing a bit about Kentucky Gentleman??
Love ur channel 👏👏👏
Grainne letting out all your secrets again. No wonder you're a drun...expert on whiskey. 😁
Well done mate.
Does he sound more Irish here than in the Try videos?
I love Teeling.
Lol this was hilarious!
What a coincidence -- just picked up a bottle a couple of hours ago! I missed the first WoW release, but the second, the Portuguese Oak, was very good.
Enjoy it! Although if you don’t have Grainne popping up behind you frightening the bejesus out of you, the flavours aren’t quite the same.
I have the Virgin Portugese Oak edition... bought in Georgia USA
Hello from Detroit, Michigan. Very enjoyable videos. Thanks.
Enjoying your work! I love a good whiskey, and it's nice to learn more about them.
Glad to see you've recovered from the coma, Darren! Hopefully Teeling Security doesn't pop you right back in again. All the best!
Love the music choices you have made for your videos. Even the Abba was fun!
Keep up this content please
You may have to do one from the bourbon trail here in Kentucky.
Hi Darren - - I was delighted to hear you mention your "girlfriend" when referring to a coworker on this channel. I think you might enjoy a video by BuzzFeed called "How I fell in Love With My Coworker".
Love me some Teeling . Fun and informative video. Love that you keep it fun. Keep them comin!!
lol these videos are just enjoyable (and ya need that especially in these times)❤
Teeling single cask carcavelos finished is probably among my top 5 whiskies ever enjoyed.
They burned me with their US release of a 17 year white wine finish, though. It was cut into the feints so deep it tasted like mushrooms. I swore them off but might give this one a go on your recommendation.
Nice Video. I have been to the Teeling distillery twice. I agree, they offer good value for the products they make. I still like the small batch and their distillery edition. I also snagged their Rising reserve and a revival series bottle. Strange enough I have not tried the wood series ( I will).
Great video , Darren ! Love learning about all the different whiskeys ! I was hoping to see Grainne kick your butt again 😂 ! 😂 ! Oh well maybe next video ! Hope you both have a great weekend !
Enjoyed your video very much. Keep them coming. I watched while sipping Balvenie 12 year old DoubleWood. I raise my glass to you.
You make me chuckle, and I appreciate that.
Another great video. I wish these limited edition releases would be more available here in Canada....wood love to try this Whisky.
Another stellar video.
At last, a channel for Irish whiskey, interesting and hilarious.
Love that you actually did go and do a show about whiskey ❤
Well Darren you see, we Swedes put this thing called 'ekollon' into the ground and... wait for 2-300 years and: There's your cask! Sort of..
I love this series! Keep up the great work!
I'm very impressed with the interior of the distiller, considering that I've never seen one before. I'm curious, are all distilleries like that in Ireland?
Love your take on a good Whiskey.
I have the first two wonders of wood and they’re both incredible. I’ll keep an eye out one for this one. keep up the good work. It’s just getting better.
Been telling everyone i see about this channel. They tell me to shut up. But I will not!
In this channel from the beginning.
A worthy and funny self-deprecating addition to the cult of whiskey (whisky) with real information.
Here's to all Try offspring.
Having done the distillery tour at Teelings it brings back some good memories. I wonder though, do they still have all the customer graffiti on the walls in the tasting area?
I didn’t notice it this time but I wasn’t over that area. But what I remember from the time be for it was that it was all still there.
@@ThisTastesLikeWhiskey you had ONE job 🤣 well, two jobs if you include reviewing the whiskey, and 3 jobs if you include making the video about reviewing the whiskey...
That’s a brand I’ve always wanted to try.
Good channel. Soundtrack is a bit of a limp noodle.
Can I have some, please?
Need CC
Please!
Working on it now 😊
@@ThisTastesLikeWhiskey 😀👍🥃
Run
Let's all do our best to spell Gráinne properly, shall we?
Grainy...Granny...Gran Marnier...got it. Thanks for the PSA. 😁
What did you do to Grainne? She was just a blip!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is the mint strong?
It’s more notes of menthol, so quite subtle.
So is whisky basically vodka until it is aged and gets its flavor from the barrels?
The base spirit for whiskey would have flavours in it as well because it can’t be distilled to as high a percentage as vodka (which is a “neutral” alcohol because all the flavours have been distilled out)
However a very high percentage of whiskey’s flavour comes from the barrels, particularly the longer it’s been in there.
@@ThisTastesLikeWhiskeyI see, so a non aged whisky would still taste like a very mild whisky?
@@stevemcgowen there’d be distinct in their own right, but you can definitely see the through line.
JAYSUS potatoe, Darren, that black top isn't hiding much... GOTTDAMMERUNGEN :-O
What happened? Don't tell me that Ireland has run out of whiskey. Or did Gráinne make you take the pledge? (Or more likely, did some asshat complain about the fight scene in that previous video??)
@@CCoburn3 nothing so sinister thankfully. Just fell behind on a vid this week but will be back on schedule this week ☺️
@@ThisTastesLikeWhiskey At least Gráinne didn't make you take the pledge. THAT would have been terrible.
I enjoy this nonsense.
I COULD NOT HEAR YOU OVER THE SOUNDS OF THE LOUD MAC....achines....
this tastes like shit?
