If you liked A Man Called Ove, I would recommend The Housekeeper and the Professor by Yoko Ogawa. It’s translated from Japanese and is only 180 pages, but gave me serious Ove vibes. Also, the movie Grand Torino with Clint Eastwood is a good choice if you want a gritty, more violent Ove.
I felt exactly the same way about Spin the Dawn. It almost seemed to me that the beginning and the end were written by different people or as if the author wrote the first half and then years later, when they'd lost their direction for the story, wrote the second half. It was a downhill journey. Glad to know I'm not the only one who felt that way.
this book probably won't work for a monthly TBR but i'm recommending the new release of You Will Get Through This Night by Dan Howell to be considered for your haul :D
Just as an idea regarding the size of the haul - if you want to keep it a bit smaller you could for example limit the amount of books you buy in regards to the amount of books you read in order to reach the avatat state. That just came to mind because I currently try to have less unread books and therefore challenge myself to read 2 in order to bring 1 in, but that if obviously a personal choice of mine.
Eve Brown was my favourite in the Brown sisters series 😊 Hope you enjoy The Bone Shard Daughter. I found it a little slow in places but really enjoyed it overall and I thought the magic system was fascinating
Act your Age, Eve Brown is on my TBR for next month as well as Bone Shard Daughter... i highly highly recommend Black Sun by Rebecca Roanhorse... it's up there with Name of the Wind and Mistborn
Do you read indie books? I highly recommend Call of Kythshire By Missy Sheldrake, its ya epic fantasy and has knights, faeries, mages, sorcerers good vs evil and is a great 5 book series..

I am obsessed with your shirt! It's so pretty!
The sound of the star rating popping up on the screen right when you said "ya'll lie" scared me lol. G, looking and sounding beautiful as always😍😍
I felt so similar about Spin the Dawn lol I don't think it was bad, but after part one finished it started to feel like a chore to read it
It’s official I want G’s entire closet 😍

✨Morticia Adams vibes ✨
I’m reading A Man Called Ove hopefully in June and I am very much looking forward to it! 💗
I think you would enjoy Master of Sorrows. It has the school setting and wise mentor trope. I read it this month and really enjoyed it.
Anxious People by Fredrik Backman
I absolutely loved it!! It was funny and absurd... really recommend it😝
Patiently waiting on my shelves! 😂
Yayyy avatar state!! Gideon was one of my favorite books last year! The murder mystery plot is very intriguing 🧐
Murder mystery, I didn’t even know! Hell yes
Act Your Age, Eve Brown was my favorite out of the Brown Sisters series! Happy reading~
Chatty kitties are the best 😻

Act your Age, Eve Brown is on my TBR for next month as well as Bone Shard Daughter...
i highly highly recommend Black Sun by Rebecca Roanhorse... it's up there with Name of the Wind and Mistborn
Cool for the Summer by Dahlia Adler might be something you’d enjoy. It’s a YA contemporary bisexual romance.
You should get the new Taylor Jenkins Reid book! Malibu Rising! 🥰🖤
Oh yeah!
You should get the new Andy Weir book!!!
He has a new BOOK?? yaaaaAAAAAAAYYYYY
Ooh I put Bone Shard Daughter on my TBR for June without realising it was the RRR pick, looks like I'll be able to join you this month! 📚
Excellent coincidence! 🥰
I really liked Act Your Age, Eve Brown! Hope you will too

That top is gorgeous but I just know I would tear it in 0.5 femto seconds 😂
I just listened to The Way Home Gets Longer and Longer today and it was beautiful. Seems like Ove has the same kind of themes?
Wasn’t it just so good 😭 somewhat similar but also fairly different
@@BookRoast i didn’t get along with the coriander hate, but the rest was very emotional. 🥲
😂😂
I hope you enjoy Gideon the Ninth 🖤💀🖤
Me too! Fingers crossed! 😂
