This is a drummer appreciation post. I appreciate the drummer. I was a bit bummed out when Travis left but this dude here is pure sludge. I give 6 from 5 possible points.
First time I met Dixie Dave he was filling in on bass duties for Bongzilla whilst they opened for Monster Magnet during a North American tour. Some kind of crisis was going down in the Magnet camp and a weeks worth of shows had been cancelled, thus leaving the Bongzilla boys absolutely flapping in the wind. The NYC stoner rock contingent got a last minute show put together for them to play at The Pyramid club on Ave. A and my band opened. I dare say that Dixie nearly upstaged Pee Wee and the Bongzilla boys that night.
I like how sludge metal can be brutal, disgusting music that wallows in misery, but it can also be fun and upbeat in its own way. It's the bluesy riffs.
This was a times of a normal life, before covid, I was at this gig, and how everything is fucked up in the world right now, war with Ukraine and mobilization, fucking sad
Saw these guys three times in a year. It should’ve been 6 times in two years but work and coronavirus. They are also the absolute nicest guys. I would say the show I saw at the empty bottle where they were doing the 10 year anniversary of God luck and good speed was easily one of my top 10 shows

That was the best Johnny Rotten opening Ive heard in decades!!! Get you're fucking money back with these guys. Punks not Dead....at least in the South...lol
whhoa they are bending the time sequence of this song big time... how any band does this is beyond me. so many bits are stretched then pinged back. they must practice an insane ammount to be able to read other so fluidly.
Can you imagine what it would cost to ship double Dave double stacks to Russia and back? Probably local rental equipment. I too appreciate the war-worn / world-traveled appearance and sound of both Dave's regular rigs.
@@312maxon AMEN on the war torn equipment! At least we still get so see his Les Paul that's held together with tape, beer, and nicotine. I didn't realize this gig was in Russia... that's awesome. Definitely rented equipment, good point!

Yeah me too
But this guy delivers proper fuking snare hand right here
When they were in Houston last I couldn't stop watching the drummer. Dude is absolute monster.
Ramzi was also the drummer for Buzzov-en
Dave Collins is a genius entertainer

Great crowd, great shots, best audio of a weedeater show that I've heard on youtube
Not being sarcastic, when I'm down or depressed I crank some weedeater. Always gets me through the day. (And the night with the proper chemistry...)
Yeah drugs are good...

One of the best live bands no matter how they are throwing down.

Wish they would come to California
What I would give for hearing them playing Potbelly, Lines, Calico or Truck Drivin' Man live.
I know it's a cover but I love their version of Southern Cross. I'd love to see that played live.
So fucking great show !!!! i've been waiting for it for 10 years.
I love this band so fucking much
Снято просто охуенно, спасибо!
I wonder if that’s a 100 watt plexi head or a 50 watt.. probably 100
Never noticed that Led Belly starts playing at the end, haha.
Looks like they have new live rigs... interesting!

Hey, anyone knowing what kind of cymbal is on his right? That bell sounds insanely great.
Pretty sure it's an Paiste Alpha 24" rock ride.
I love Weedeater, anyone else catch the "long live dirt weed" hand gesture at 05:02?
👌
YES!

Weedeater is SICK SICK SICK!!!! Excellent! Dixie DC is possessed!
Как называется этот стиль?
Stoner/Sludge
Bongripper/eyhategod/Dopethrone
Its Vulva grind sludge.

I guess you dont know that Carlos died.
RIP Carlos
Carlos floated away to the Nether.
Ikr, Travis Owen was and is the best fuckin drummer ever
WTF man was that. This not Bongzilla
Another great band in the pantheon of sludge. I think weedeater will always be my favorite though. Nobody else sounds like them.
Weedeater the OG's though. Bongzilla look up to and are really great friends with Dixie Dave Collins
Dave played bass on Bongzillas album 'Amerijuanican'
