Hi there! Thanks for a valueable videos! In a few days I'm planning to start a cross-Cyprus hike from Paphos to Zafer Burnu (Cape Andreas), so I will also cover majority of the Besparmak Trail. I just wanted to ask how did you return from the end of the trail to civilization? I'm planning to visit Girne later but it looks like I will have to walk back until at least Dipkarpaz and get a bus from there if there is any. How did you do, did you hitchhike from the cape or did you walk backwards? Thanks in advance, all the best!

Hey Marcin! Thanls for watching!Thats a very good question and I regnet to not have mentioned it in the video!
So the Cape is a very famous place, tourists as well as locals go there, you will find people visiting it with their car. Even in January we saw 5 cars within an hour, we kept on asking and 2 guys eventually picked us up and lucky for us they brought us to Girne. If you happen to be there, you are right Dipkarpaz is the first zivilisation, but the public transport from there is very poor. I am sure you will figure out a way to get back, but the bigger the town, the better. For example if someone offers a ride to Famagusta, go for it rather then going to Dipkarpaz. It seems like a ride in the wrong direction but you will find several Busses to Girne from there.
Hope I could help, wish you all the best for your adventure, it sounds like a lot of fun :) if you have any other questions feel free to ask.
PS: contact Tugberk for up to date information on way condition, water, military practice,...

Amazing! You inspired me to try it but we’re not a very experienced couple. Could you suggest the best part we could do in a one-night hike of around 30km?

Hmmm maybe the Part that crosses the Besparmak itself. So start in Bellapais, take the real route, then camp out around the Besparmak and finish at the next road and take a Hitchhike back to a town/busstop. Or start Ģeçitköy and finish in Lapta. Or hike the eastern Cape from Dipkarpaz and take a Hitchhike from the Cape back to some town. For most accurate GPX contact Tuğberk. Enjoy and have a great day!
