In this video I delve into reviewing the very popular hybrid compound from 3D called One.
Using the VT commodore as the test car I try out how it performs using different pads from a true one step to a proper two step using just the one product to see if I can get the desired results.
The Commodore used is a rough car on its flat surfaces so I didn't expect much with removing serious damage like hard etching and gauges but as for the swirls, spider webbing, marring and fading. I was hoping that's where it could really show us how it performs.
On multiple panels I tried it to see if the results would differ and filmed the whole thing so sit back, relax and I hope you enjoy!

Used this stuff today for the first time and I really like it. Not only does it do a good job but it's very easy to work with and no dust.

I completely switched our shop over to 3D one & slowly but surely all of our chemicals will be 3D also. Great stuff!

Through 2020 I tested a ton of compounds and polishes at work. I used most of the top end offerings from Jescar, Sonax, Menzerna, etc, etc.
As of today I've either sold, or given away most of them. What remains is 3D - ACA500, One, ACA520, AAT502, Speed, and Optimum - Hyper Compound, Intensive Polish, Hyper Polish, and GPS.
I did keep Meguiar's and Menzerna because I've used them for so long.
Aside from the almost dustless nature of One, I love how far it stretches. After I load my pad (four drops) and complete the section, I can brush out the pad, and start with my next section without reloading. I can sometimes do that two or three sections until I need to reload with two small drops. This also makes for a very easy removal of the residue. I always account for the first initial section being a harder wipe off, but after that It's a breeze.
Moving to 3D abrasives liquids was a game changer for me. Every wish I ever had for a compound / polish was delivered by them. The only one I didn't really care for was AAT501 compound. I may hive it another shot though. I found it to really gum up my microfiber pads, and load them up really quickly. It also has a really off putting after scent.

Can you use 3D One Hybrid on glass (windshield) and car door pillars? I'm looking for an all in one compound/polish that can essentially do the entire vehicle.

    Great review Tim!
I have been using 3D One for about 12months on all sorts of paints and is the best and most versatile stuff out there!
For heavy cutting I use the Rupes blue wool pad but also use shinemate yellow, blue and red pads with awesome results👍👍👍👍

Thanks mate! Must say it's a favourite of mine now for that very reason and I actually do need to buy some more as I write this comment 😅

I too like the shinemate foam pads. The diamond pattern yellow, blue, and red. They seem to last a long time too.

The "One" doesn't mean "one step" - it means "one polish". I.e - change the aggressiveness by changing the pad only - no need to change the polish.

What? I’ve never heard the term used that way and I been detailing 10 years. It’s always one pad one polish.

Interesting video! I got me a bottle and 2 packs of SPTA pads, 4" mf & wool and 5" foam. I'm going to use the product on my car with a large cup of coffee and see the results. The coffee is for me of course 😅
    Thanks for the video mate!

I bought some last week and yes it outperformed my normal polish Sonax Perfect Finish mainly due to removal and a complete lack of dusting.

Would you say that its best to use 2 separate polishes then? A cutting compound and a finishing one.
I'm also just think about what you said with the pads. I have a large circle polisher and I got some rougher almost microfiber pads for it and some fur like pads. Whitch of these would you use for the cutting and whitch one for the finishing?
