      I totally agree! The Blade Runner soundtrack was on repeat for like a year at one point haha. And also Vaporwave, the genre resonates well with Tokyo's streets. :)

    On your walk and route, I would have shot so many pictures. The umbrellas as an example. We do not use them as sun protection up here in Scandinavia, so they are very exotic to me😂 We only use them for rain protection. Good video 👍🏻👍🏻

    Pretty cool exchange between you both and cool moment in this vlog! I sometimes choose to take photos just to fulfill my mood of doing something spontaneous beside my graphic design, and get it as satisfaction at the moment that I want to feel it alive in a few seconds later it disappears to re-synchronized my creativity.

    • @EYExplore

    Very cool conversation! A lot of it is very relatable for me. When Ulysses was talking about being a candid photographer that hit home for me. I don’t like labeling myself a street photographer because I make so much more than that. Going to start saying I’m a Candid photographer

      What is the 'make so much more than that'? How does the term Candid photographer fit better?

    • @EYExplore
      @EYExplore  25 дней назад +1

      @@peterd1332 I think the idea is that 'street photography' is a subset of the more general 'candid photography' which can include scenes that are not typically dubbed 'street'.

    • @peterd1332
      @peterd1332 24 дня назад +1

      @@EYExplore -Give some examples of the 'scenes' that are not Street but nonetheless 'Candid'.

    • @EYExplore
      @EYExplore  18 дней назад

      @@peterd1332 Well, the typical street photography definition is candid photos of decisive moment involving people. So, a photo of a trash can is not usually considered a 'street' photo, but it may very well be a 'candid' photo because it was not staged or prepared by the photographer.
      Similarly, photojournalism is a candid form of photography but not typically considered street photography because it deals with newsworthy events rather than mundane daily scenes.
      The work of William Eggleston could be called candid but he is not often considered a 'street' photographer.

    It's amazing to me, how you can be taking pictures so close to people and yet you seem invisible to them. They don't react to you taking their photo. If I tried that here in my small Southern town, I'd either be attacked or hauled off by the cops, to the nut house.

    I turned off when he said there is no right or wrong with street photography.
    Yes there is! There is right and wrong with all photography. That’s why 99% of images made lately are garbage, including the images in this video. If you want to see street photography done Right then look at the work of Eduardo Ortiz.

    • @EYExplore

      Obviously, there is quality work and bad work, but we're discussing the tenets of photography. What are the rules? In any art there are rules, but it's possible to go beyond them and make the the genre what you will. Forge your own path, don't just follow someone else's values blindly. I don't think Ulysses photos are garbage...
