As I stood in the "Rotation-Club" in Hannover on 07.04.1987 I could not
believe my ears !
So there were no studio effects!
This nineteen year old guy at the microphone, so it was actually so awesome! - Also live!
Even then I suspected that I listen to one of the best metal singers.

WOW, total respect for their talent. They are true musicians, I've followed them since I was very young but to see them on this video live is totally different. They where so ahead of their time, look at the playing and vocals.
Kiske is so good in live, they could record an album with the take of his voice. My favorite singer ever

Those were the times, one majestic band with one of the greatest singers in time and a superb drummer (Rip Ingo). Pure magic!
Can't say how many memories come to my mind with "pink bubbles go ape" album... Underrated, but holy shit, what a fucking good record.
Agree .. they took a lot of heat for that album but it has some brilliant tracks. Goin Home is one of my faves.. just outstanding. No one else was doing what Helloween was doing. They were the cream of the power metal movement.
Wish I had been able to see this lineup. Kiske was killing it live. Just beautiful.

***** In my opinion, Deris´ range is much better than Weikath´s, by better I mean Deris doesnt completely sound like a squealing schoolgirl - in this case Weikath -, when hitting those high notes in falsetto.
Some of them can definitely go as high as tenors, but the sound quality would drop drastically, compared to straight up tenors.

+Simon Lamphee No, If you know about metal then you know that this has been one of the greatest bands ever. It was indeed a shame that they didn't go on for long but their legacy still remains to this day; just think of Avatasia. They started where this Helloween stopped and Kiske is singing just as well as back in the day.

Whose idea was it to call the album "Pink Bubbles Go Ape?" Marketing genius, I tell you.
I really do believe that if Kai Hansen never left Helloween that they would have been much much bigger than what they already are. Kai Hansen is a very amazing strong songwriter and Helloween really suffered after he left. I do love some songs that Helloween did after Kai left but they were never the same again. Roland Grapow is an excellent songwriter himself and he write many great songs while he was in Helloween and especially the band that he formed with Uli Masterplan. As great as a songwriter that Roland is , Kai Hansen is still a much, much better songwriter. Kai's songwriting on both Helloween and Gamma Ray are some of the greatest music I have ever listened to. Now that both Kai Hansen and Michael Kiske are back in Helloween, it would be really smart if the other members allowed Kai to write new material if they ever do plan on making a new album with them. Helloween has always been one of my favorite bands and I am still very happy and grateful that both Michael Kiske and Kai Hansen are back in the band. If they do a new studio album my expectations will be high but I don't expect them to make another Keeper Of The Seven Keys 1 and 2. I do believe that it would still be an amazing album.

I dont give a shit what the fanboys say, I love Pink Bubbles and Chameleon. Some of the bands best songs are on those two albums. I mean, The Chance, Number One, Mankind, Giants, I Believe, common.
Can't agree more, those albums reflect their musical maturity at the highest, not just power and technical difficulties

Tim Heinz Andi is a great frontman. But lacks the power of Kiske’s voice. Kiske still has a lot of range, even today.
