My favorite Vileplume style was gen 7 doubles. Used it on a Trick Room team, always leading alongside Porygon 2. Max hp/Max def + Assault Vest and Effect Spore, sassy nature. Juggling Moonblast, Giga Drain, Sludge Bomb and HP Fire.
Tanked nearly everything, blew up dragons, fairies and anything steel/grass or steel/bug, and was generally great. Only a kill hungry mega Salamance had a fairly high chance at 1 shotting it with Double Edge. And Porygon covered that weakness with Blizzard and Tri-Attack against such threats.

Despite it's performances I always loved Vileplume. If I used Venusaur it was almost always offensive except when I was testing out Amnesia Mega Venusaur. Vileplume was always a great defensive and support pokemon. When it got Strength Sap in gen 7 I was overjoyed honestly. Such a great self healing move and another great way to annoy people. This gen After You is such a great move on it and others can use it better but Pollen Puff is a great option to heal Team Members which makes it even more annoying. It can't be stopped with Taunt either and deals damage. I feel Venusaur got alot more tools though like Weather Ball again and Earth Power. Back when I battled last year Vileplume showed why he was a true mvp. He stood toe to toe against Dracovish and won. I hope to see Vileplume get even better though and more love that it deserves.

Have you considered ever making a video that covers how certain mons that generally fall short in the normal Smogon tiers change in the Monotype format, or vice versa?
For example, in Monotype (Poison Specific), Vileplume has a very solid spot for any poison team thanks to it's typing helping against Earth teams as well as it's nice tools that couldn't otherwise be filled as easily even by Venusaur.

I've always felt like Vileplume was heavily underrated. This video was mostly comparing Vileplume to Venusaur, but I feel like its true competition is Amoongus, which only got about a 10-second explanation. Other than HP, Vileplume matches Amoongus pretty well stat-wise. Amoongus just beats it with its ability and spore, which is all it takes sometimes. Make no mistake though, Vileplume having strength sap is pretty insane in its own right. I had a Vileplume in against a Crobat in a random battle baiting the brave bird and it was absolutely hilarious watching it switch out because there was no way Crobat could win.
Shoot, forget regen, I think if you just give Vileplume spore, it could match Amoongus imo.
