Sal was so comfortable on the air from day one.
Lol he was perfect, reserved and charming
at 26 as well. Actually pretty impressive
So true. I always loved him on the air. Funny, candid, good storyteller. In my opinion he could handle the Jackie/Artie chair.
It’s crazy. He’s chill
hawaiidispenser I know huh?
The beginning of hell for Gary.
Lol!!!
Drew2.0 Thank you Sal for all the great years the show would not be what it was and what it is today without you
Thank you SAL
He had already been there for yrs
Sals the greatest and Richard
Im convinced that this guy was never really a stock broker and just said he was.
Being a stock broker in and of itself is nothing special, kind of like being a real estate broker.. it's easy to get the license, it's all what you do with it.. Sal was a stock broker the mid-90s during the most frothy time for the stock market ever, during the dot com boom when any idiot could make money on paper, and then subsequently lose everything
Youd be surprised how many dumbass stock brokers there were at that time.
He worked in a boiler room hawking garbage stocks and ripping people off. I love when they say he used to "work on Wall Street" like he is a hedge fund analyst or something.
He was and made Shuttering John a good amount of money back around this time.
BodhiZaffa probably at best was a salesman for penny stocks. Working on commission only.
“This is going to be a new way of life for Sal.” Truer words were never spoken. 😂
Dran truer words have been spoken but i know what you mean.
I love how Gary is so chill and doesn’t take offense, what a guy. Those horse teeth are amazing
"He's got nice teeth." The first and last time Howard said anything positive about Sal.
Sal looked like he felt right at home. That’s crazy.
I love Sal so fucking much. Look at him wordlessly mouthing along with all of his calls, you know he listened to them endlessly and this had to be one of the greatest moments of his life being in studio for the first time. You gotta be inspired by his passion for the show and for belittling Gary.
Howard: "You're saying his teeth are as bad as yours?"
Gary: "yeah."
Howard: "No way! His teeth are inside his mouth."
You can tell Stern really likes Sal's work in this clip, he proved to be a good hire.
with a moustache youre me... u dont have a moustache gary hahaha
good way to prove you're not a jackass, by telling a joke that makes 0 sense lol
Lolll
Hahaha I was dying at that part
Thank god for Sal
Changed the stern show forever, for the better
loveforthe90s really?
Sal has given some great moments for the show.
Beetlejuice hanzi is stupid
You just like seeing him naked.
@@bloodtimemaximusfullthrott226 You don't like Sal....you must a jerk.
Who do you like on the show moron?
6:03 Howard says in reference to pranking "This is going to be a way of life for Sal". He couldn't be more right! LOL
Sal Goobernale - The man the myth the legend
you forgot the last part "… the idiot"
It's kinda surreal that guy in the suit would one day bring us classics like "Hi this is Sal Governale" and "I want traction!"
"You don't have a mustache, Gary."
Sals come a long way ......
Props for him on his determination to cement himself in the stern universe.
Holy shit, look at Sal... he still looks like a human being here.
Sal mouthing along to the calls is so bizarre.
Teeter Totter yeah that’s weird as hell
Yeah, you're right, it is odd.
Teeter Totter what about sal isn’t odd?
He is insane
he's channeling. lol.
1:12 I just love it when Jackie laughs
yes! his laughs in the background always makes everything funnier for me
I love this !!! I’ve been listening to Howard for 30 years !!!!! I Look forward to Howard on Sirius XM 100 daily !!!! Thanks for all the great years !!!! Made sitting in traffic no too bad.
Even on sundays?
I remember this from the 90s & they left a good prank call out of this clip. It was a call in which Gary figures out it was a prank early on but Sal convinces him otherwise & manages to still call him a HTJ at the end. Sal calling a zoo & asking about the “Delll’abate Monkey” is my favorite call he ever made but I never could never find it on YT.
Sals teeth were busted lol
Sal is one of the most if not THE most underrated staffer on the show. He is definitely the saving grace of the shit show going on today...
Hes barely on...
If it's such a shit show, why do you still listen? Moron
richard and sal made stern actually listenable when it started going down the shitter
Ah ... the start of the ballbusting! Baby faces! Instant chemistry!
You gotta love how the Stern Show loves people pranking them...works both ways and the Stern Show takes it like a champ!
0:20 - Rupert Pupkin makes it in the door.
Gary is such a nice guy
Sal was singing along to them like they were his greatest hits
I am personal friends with the beastie boys, lol
I guess when you're president of their fan club you tend to think things like that.
Baby sal looks like a relative of ECW's Joey styles
This definitely became a way of life for Sal.
He so prevailant
and so much hair!
,😂😂😂😊
Prevalent.
This was Sal's destiny.
wow so young lol sal's 26 here damn
Alex Carrillo official he looks older than 26
Sal carved out a nice little niche for Sal.
Knew what he wanted - went for it - much respect
(and to Richard as well)
.
Wow look at young Sal there lol. And who knew he'd parlay this into a job with the show.
Sal was relentless with Gary. "Barbra Booyie", " Bob from Bouie", etc. It amazes me that he's over 50 now. Most of this crew is suspended in my mind at the ages I remember them best even though I listen to them every day still since '86.
I didn't know Sal went that far back but I was entertained by this.
Sal thought he would be Howard's best friend....lmfao
These hd versions are awesome to see
He looks younger now than when he was 26
....no.
Please more clips like this!
in the thumbnail sal looks like a simpsons character.
Its been over 20 years and Sal still doesnt have any new material about Gary. 🤣🤣🤣 and i still laugh just as hard!
Wow almost 25 years
those were the days of pure ecstacy.
@Will E. Fisturgash No they weren't.
Yessss please more classic clips! Love the history.
Even though he was a lil Rusty you could already witness some brilliance in these early prank calls.
Sal’s always been the funniest, most underused guy on the show. Should get airtime every day. Never disappoints. Always hilarious. That guy’s got a 104 IQ? I’d stake big money that’s a mistake-he’s gotta be 106.
when Howard said "it's going to be a way of life for Sal" he had no idea
RELEASE FULL E! EPISODES PLEASE. I WOULD GLADLY PAY.
i really miss the E! show i saw every episode that was aired and so this was one i prolly did see in repeats but i always did like Sal and damn he looks so young here.
And just lake that, a legend is born
He would get Gary sooooo mad it was hysterical.. they hired his tormenter! Classic!
Howard knew right away
I love Sal. Dude is hilarious!
I could never believe Gary kept falling for Sal's stupid calls.
sal talked just like he still does. insane.
On this day Gary’s professional life was at a noine when he woke up, and after sals bit that went down slowly over the next two decades lol.
sal is like a real life rickety cricket from always sunny in philadelphia
Love Sal!
Haha...dude was a natural within 15 seconds. Wow!
"HTJ, that's who!!"
I love the tradio let’s wheel and deal!
Been looking for this video for a while, I also want to see sal and richard first day or first week working for Howard.
"I'm personal friends with the Beastie Boys"
It's amazing how normal Sal used to seem...it's all downhill from here
Gary with the 2019 softboi look
I remember when I lived in NYC, most of the stockbrokers were basically working class types from places like Queens. I had always assumed Wall Street workers had a certain pedigree but definitely not the case stockbrokers.
Classic radio at its BEST! This is what radio needs to continue to be!
The only greatest moment for Sal Governale on The Howard Stern Show.
This is awesome
Damn, exactly 3 days before I was born. That’s crazy
This is the real "A Star Is Born" . Sal is the best comedian on the show.
Richard and him are by far the most talented people on the show, beside Howard - and Artie when he was still there.
Haha Sal mouthing all the calls
Wow 26 years old? So long ago. Sal was funny from the get-go.
A legend is born!
Howard was all happy
HTJ : 143
Holy crap Sal looks so clean cut here.
That was epic. LEGEND
What a tasty treat
“Those are the nicest teeth I’ve come across”
Legendary
Man this is excellent. And sal was 26!
"Professional Sal" hahahaha
Sal might have the best Glow-up of anyone on the staff.
Sal looks younger now than then!
Thanks for uploading this classic bit......Please, oh, please upload a Jackie bit. The Autograph Bust, the Cardoza Hotel Fiasco, preferably, or any bit goofing on Jackie.
Sal talks like he's been on the show for years already. That got him the job.
5:18 "Metallicar"
Miss the Jackie days
Just noticed sal mouthing the words along with his prank calls.
Say what you want about Sal... most of it is right but he’s always been confident.
So young
You can see Sal mouthing his parts of the call while they play it.
So weird
Sal looks like Rick Moranis
The beginning of the end.
Hi, this is sal governale!!!
The begining of an era!
